Im going to say no, but it was a different game ten years ago. Very hard to compare. Haloti, Suggs and Reed are better than anyone we had then though. Ray Lewis being the constant.

Only reason i think this years defense could possibly end better then the 2006 defense, and by a 99% chance not better, than the 2000 defense, is because our offense has the potential to put up points and actually keep our defense off the field for extended periods of time. We have the depth, youth, and experince as we have already shown to completely shut down offenses, and we're only going to get better once our injured guys come back. But if our offense can really start to score and put pressure on opposing teams theyll be forced to throw more because we dont give up rushing yards. This plays right into Pagano's aggressive blitzing schemes and with the improvement of our secondary will spell trouble for opposing offenses. Solely by the nature of the game today i dont see us beating either the 2006 or 2000 defense in yardage categories, but in things like turnovers and defensive touchdowns and maybe even close to points allowed we could be very close. While it would take nearly a flawless effort to beat the 2000 team, this defense has a chance to make its own mark in the ravens storied defensive history. When guys like ed reed and ray lewis want a ring, it seems difficult to stop them from doing whatever it takes..and its showing.

TBD. This team can't be considered better unless we win a ring. Personnel wise I would say yes all around though that defense will probably never be replicated especially with the way rules are favored toward the offense. But you can't compare this one to that and never should. Can only ask they do their best and see where they finish. BLASPHEMY
