Ray Rice On First Take

Did anyone see this, or does anyone have video? Apparently Skip asked him to "convince the world that Flacco is good" and he couldn't.

Yea I watched it and Ray just talked about how Joe never gets rattled and he had no doubt in his mind that he was the answer at the QB position. He finished off by explaining how him and Joe have taken a huge role in the leadership of the offense and how much more vocal and in your face Joe has become this season.

The way that it went down on the show made it kind of seem like he couldn't answer the question straight up but I think it came off that way because he had Skip Bayless and Steven A. Smith in his ears at the same time. They kind of jumped him about it and if you know these guys you know exactly what I mean and how both are major Flacco haters. Either way Ray answered the questions straight up and honest.

I agree and it bothers me to hear some of those guys disrespect not only the Ravens and their players but other teams and players as well. The media rolls on a week to week roller coaster and looks no further than single performances unless you have won a SB in the past 5 seasons. It's truly pathetic and uncalled for most of the time but it is what it is.

here is my take on what just went down on First Take. Skip simply said to Ray Rice; [i]"You know how much i think of you and [b]how comfortable i am with the ball in your hands...but i am still not sold on your QB[/b]....so please convince me that you can win it all with Joe Flacco." [/i]Ray then responded by saying that; [b][i]"Joe is our QB, i am behind him and he never seems to get rattled and right now we are 3-1 so you can't judge him off of one game!"[/i] [/b]Skip then said; [i]"You know you are the best thing that happened to Joe Flacco right?"[/i]

but once he used the word, [b]"Rattled," [/b]Stephen A. Smith jumped in and said; [i]"Are you trying to say on national television that Joe Flacco never gets rattled? [b]First of all we saw him rattled Sunday night! And, I have seen him rattled on far too many occasions!"[/b][/i] Then he said; [i]"I know he has skills, but i really question whether or not he gets rattled!" [/i]Ray then simply said; [i]"I'm sticking with that regardless of the performance!"[/i]

i actually enjoyed the questioning and the responses. i didn't see any of it as Flacco-haterism like most people here do when someone brings up Flacco's problems at the QB spot.

Skip Bayless is one of those people whose job is to stir something and make a story of it. When I watched his interview with Suggs I could just tell by the look on his face that he says these things to cause trouble.

I dont mind Flacco criticism, especially when its deserved to some degree, but I just cannot stand Skip Bayless. Hes a smug little ____!

Joe Flacco will have doubters and nay sayers and rightfully so for the time being and when looking at this team with all the wapons we have on both sides of the ball, I can understand someone questioning Flaccos ability b/c he will either make us or break us, this team really has no glaring weaknesses but the one area you can try to point to is the QB postion which is reasonable.

Yea i saw it this morning, it was pretty bad. Kinda felt bad for him. Rice didnt know what to say and he was just repeated what he was saying over and over again.

First take is the biggest joke which is why it comes on when no one is home to watch it. Skip Bayless is mindless and senseless and Steven A smith knows about Bball and thats about it. I could care less what they think about Flacco or the Ravens. Haters can hate and we will keep winning

Not really, to me it was just a bad interview all around. Skip Bayless is an Air Head, he picked the AFC leaders in this order.

1. Pats.- ok whatever for now i guess

2. Charger- heck no , they are 3-1, they havnt beat anyone good, just look who they played and beat Vikings,KC, Miami and lost to the Pats. Nuff said.

3. RAVENS

4. Stealers- are you kidding me, they are 2 - 2 and lost to the TEXANS

5. TEXANS- hmm why are they lower than the Stealers when they beat them and have a better record.

First Take is entertaining at times, but you have to take everything they (specifically Skip) with a grain of salt. Its his job to be a contrarian and get people riled up. He is good at his job. To me Steven A. Smith is much worse because he is just a loudmouth and never really says anything at all. At least Skip has an opinion and argues his point sensibly, for the most part.

These guys are entertainers, that's it. So they don't think much of Joe. Neither do many fans, including many of our own. Besides, Skip loves to stir controversy, which is why he always brings up Brett Favre whenever Aaron Rodgers is the subject, and always says something like "if only Ted Thompson hadn't run Favre off the Packers would have won 2 more Superbowls," while everyone can plainly se that Favre wore down at the end of every season for his last 4 or 5 and there was no way he could lead the team better than Rodgers at that point. What I'm more interested in is how Ray Rice's coconut water tastes.

How can you honestly say this? They were saying a lot of dumb crap, but the numbers speak for themselves. He's been a great, consistent quarterback and a winner. Smith asked Rice if hes backing up the fact that he said Joe doesn't get rattled, and he said yea, he can say that with truth. He said he and Joe were leaders on the offense. What more do you want from him? Like I said, the numbers speak for themselves. He's consistent, he isn't elite but he's just outside of it.

I strongly disagree with that. The entire offense is very inconsistent. That includes the protection, running game, receivers getting open and yes, Joe himself. One thing I can say for certain is that Joe did not single handedly, or even mostly lose us the playoff game at Pittsburgh last January, which was the main criticism of him all offseason. That was definitely mostly the team around him.

Buddy , thats not what im talking about. Rice was just studdering and what not, I honestly felt uncomfortable for him. And yea im with you , skip is a Joke and seems that he has a Vendetta against Flacco but Romo and his COWBOYS can do no wrong.
