True, but the bucs are not good, they barely beat the headless horses last night, everyone knows the cowboys are the biggest joke in the nfl (choke artists) and i agree witht eh statement about Houston because they are the last tough game on our schedual besides pittsburgh in pittsburgh

Did you forget about the Chargers in SD?

The one you link to is the opinion of one analyst, and the other one 1/28/01 linked to is a combination of all the analysts based on a points system. That's the one I saw earlier.
*shrug* The one I linked is what was on their front page.

Eh, Power Rankings are fun to talk about but it holds no bearing...just opinions. I think we would beat any team in the NFL right now except maybe the Packers. Lions are overrated.

Please name me one cornerback in the NFL, noteworthy or not, who could cover Calvin Johnson. Please also name me one noteworthy or not offensive lineman who has controlled Suh. The lions are not a bad team, while i think we would win because we are a better team overall the lions are not pushovers

Nnamdi would handle Calvin

you really think asamaugh could handle calvin johnson when we gave up a deep ball catch to victor cruz? Calvin johnson is by far the scariest wide receiver in the nfl...last week he caught a jump ball in triple coverage. I dont care who is covering a player but he should not make a catch in triple coverage. There is no cornerback in the nfl right now who can cover Johnson if stafford is playing the way he is. But we're not playing the lions so it really doesnt matter to us right now.

It is true but it seems like as the season goes teams are not what we thought they were. I knew the jets were garbage and the Rams are the Rams but the Titans and Steeler games kinda made me go 'huh?'

Who knows, maybe in 2 weeks we will dismantle a Johnson-less Texans and we will all be talking about the Bengals
We can hope that it is Johnson-less. Then we will easily dismantle them.

Lions are nice this year, but idk about top 5.

I agree with where we're at. Between 3 and 6. The only team that's really head and shoulders above us is the Pack.

After texans game the only real threat is chargers. I don't remember anyone saying titans or rams is the real test and only the offense was put to test in my eyes vs jets and they failed miserably.
I wasn't specifically picking on you. It just does seem like there is always someone who needs to see just one more game to be certain that the Ravens are for real.

For me, we are 3 and 1 after having beaten two teams that are known to be tough and losing to one that is looking to be a contender. That is real enough for me for now.

Admittedly the Jets was not a pretty win. but as many said last year, the best teams find a way to win. We did.

There is a definite case for the Lions to be ahead of us on the Power rankings, they are 4-0 and have looked impressive. The Saints also as they were a yard away from being 4-0 and their sole loss is to the best team in football. I think the Patriots are ahead of us for the reason that they were unjustly sitting at #2 coming into the year on most rankings and most had us at #8 or lower. If not for that bad game in Tennessee I think we would be #2 right now.

Most of the Power Rankings i have read this week have the Ravens at 5 behind the Packers, Patriots, Saints and Lions. Do you feel like these rankings are just for this week, or do the Ravens deserve a little more respect. How would you rank the top 5. I don't know about you guys but i know for a fact that we would handle the Lions.
I don't know how you would know that for a fact. Bottom line though, the Lions are 4-0 so they are going to get some bump from that and rank ahead of us. Packers same deal. The Patriots are well, the Patriots and same with the Saints. These matter little really. They will vary greatly from week to week depending on who gets exposed and all that matters in the end is that we're hoisting that trophy in February. :)

The Lions are overrated and the media is all over them because of their supposed turn around. Im not doubting they have good players, but im just not buying into the Lions until they get a significant solid win against a good team. I agree with you that these rankings dont matter its just interesting to see what the experts think occasionally and talk about it. But im with you on the ravens hoisting up that trophy. Its our year

And the Saints and the Patriots and the Packers our defense is the real deal. The scary thing is that they will get better. Our offense needs a lot of work. Minus Ray Rice, because he is the most complete back in football.

Nnamdi is giving up 21 yards per catch this season. I think Megatron would be the one doing the handling.

I think there is for power rankings, but I think we'd be pretty heavily favored in a head-to-head matchup. We have one of, if not the best, interior lines in the league to combat Suh (although they certainly won't defeat him), and they're used to taking Ngata on who I think is even more dominant. Their O-line is porous and Stafford is made of glass, he'd be taking hits all day and it wouldn't surprise me if we knocked him out of the game. Megatron is Megatron, and he's scary as anything, but I think we'd win that game.

I'd put us at #2. NE's pass D is horrendous, and I think we'd beat the Saints. The Pack is terrifying right now, although I think we could be right up there with them if were healthy and get our offense in sync.

I honestly think the Packers and Ravens are FAR more complete then any other team in the NFL.

We would beat the Lions. If the Lions aren't in the Red Zone, you completely kill what Calvin Johnson does better than anyone in this league, and that's to grab the jump ball. Megatron is working on his inside completions and can get a first down or two, but he's not unstoppable in that regard. He's only a god in the red zone.

The Eagles use Nnamdi all wrong. He's never been asked to play zone since he's been in the league, so he's basically a rookie when it comes to the Eagles D schemes. Nnamdi is a beast in man to man though. I'd put him by himself playing man to man on the best reciever on the outside, and not worry about him covering a zone.

Fun fact: The Ravens didn’t allow a single return touchdown of any type last year – punt, kick, fumble or interception -- and only one in 2009, making the two-score effort by the Jets in Baltimore Sunday night all the more odd.

Yea but that was a bit of luck. Last year when Troy P stripped Joe it could have been run in for a score if Dickson didn't make a tough tackle on Woodley. Or Ellis sacked fumble on Flacco last year. So that fumble for a potential TD was there. It just didn't result in a TD.

Kordell Stewart had the Ravens at #1 in his AFC Power Ranking. Yeah!!

Skip Bayless moved the Ravens down to #3 and of course, the Patriots to #1 and the Steelers to #4. then he pointed to the Ravens helmet and said; "I can't trust that offense!"

I would put us ahead of the Texans and Saints, seeing as we've beaten them with an inferior team last year, especially the Saints who we routed. don't believe in the Lions too much either after they had to be let back into the game by Romo

Skip Bayless has as much sense as a rock and is completely wrong about more things than he is right about. I just cant take the uy serious when i see him on tv and he is just annoying to watch talk because his arguments are not logical and lack method. Thats the basics skip. I remember last year when he called out rogers and said big ben was better than him. I wonder what hes saying now

Well as to Megatron, Bevis and Nnamdi had both done it, vontae Davis held him to 4/52/0, chuck has done it.

As to Suh well there has been mangold, mawae, brown, and gurode all did pretty well against suh.

Not saying either are bad and that I would not like to have either of them but they can be stopped.
