Ravens sign CB Bryan McCann

53 posts in this topic

Posted on Twitter we sign the ex cowboys cb, maybe this means a setback to Carr or smith because I thought we have enough cb depth when there fit. Gorrer came in and played well albeit on three plays and of course Webb and Williams really stepped up.

Who now goes to practice squad and who is cut from ps. I don't think its Gorrer someone would sign him of PS.

Wow. why? Like you mentioned, it may mean Carr or Smith are not ready to come back yet. I feel so bad for Smith. Losing all this valuable playing time. :(

Prolly means we are unsure about carr which is understandable since hammy injuries are always iffy...
Good signing.. Liked what i saw from gorrer but he's a 5 right now not a 4

Well his contract won't be guaranteed. So they probably just want to kick the tires and see if he'll be a good fit here. With all the injuries we've had to CB it might not be a bad thing to look.

Its not certainty that he stays around.

Worthwhile noting but the signing doesn't move my excitement meter at all at this point. Insurance policy at best and taking a flyer at worst. As always, I hope he gets the meter moving though.

Ravens' injury situation at cornerback with Chris Carr (left hamstring) and Jimmy Smith (high left ankle sprain) dictated move for B. McCann

Did we sign him to the active roster or just the practice squad?
He isn't elgible for the PS since he was on the active roster for enough games last year.

We've had McCann before... wonder if they've seen something in him while playing for the Cowboys that made us take another look.

A. Always good to have corner depth; hope Jimmy is ok and between the 2 I would rather Carr to be the one not looking to be ready
B. His special teams play is probably why he is really here
C. There's a chance we signed him do to our safety depth. If reed or pollard go down, Webb might have to go back there. Little extreme but I can see it happening.

Good. Less chance of injury to Webb then.

I'm with the people asking about why they let McCann go and hired Frank Walker to be in his place. Although the Cowboys haven't been known for their talent scouting prowess in the past few years.
