The Final Score Is Deceiving...

62 posts in this topic

Guys, we have had huge leads in a few of these games. How much were we really trying to score in the second half of these games? Stats are funny like that, almost as funny as the people that twist them to fit their message.

Yes the final score is deceiving cause 7 came off a pick 6 and the other off a return. I get what you're saying but to defend the offense in the weeks 1 and 3 we had significant leads that didnt seem to be going anywhere but I would be a lot more comfortable knowing we could score when we needed and not only in the first quarter. Its very similar to last year except d is playing lights out and the o line has improved to the point where we can kill clock with the run game. The question is what happens when we need to catch up later in the season. Flacco I feel still needs to make faster reads and when Torrey is open throw to him in stride. Hopefully his timing on the deep routes will pan out and Joe will start throwing receivers open. My guess is they are trying to get the new guys as much pt as possible while trying to get chemistry with Joe(atleast Im hoping thats why they're passing so much). Also, if you look Flacco never really had the freedom other qbs have had cause he came in to a playoff caliber team. Id rather him get all the kinks out in the regular season to realize what he can and cant do with the group he has.
