My Thoughts - Jets @ Ravens

150 posts in this topic

In the first Quarter Joe and the offense looked good, but the Jets are a good defense and they made adjustments. The interception Joe threw was partly because Ray Rice stopped running the route Joe thought he was running and nobody was home except for a Jets defender. Now on the fumble..Joe just has to hold onto the ball better and know when a play is dead. Another reason for Joe's poor numbers are a coupled drops, and the Jets defense is good, especially their secondary and we have a lot of youth, inexperienced youth out there...the two TEs, and Torrey, etc..

Good thing in this game was our defense stepped up big time, I was worried the secondary could be burned, but because our front seven is so ferocious against poor OLs they handled themselves well and Sanchez was shook for most of the game..

Their only points were the ones we gave them.....well, except for a FG...as of writing this now, we have the ball up 34-17

Not the real good news is our BYE week is next week which means guys will be getting healthy, we should get back Grubbs, Lee Evans, Carr maybe, and Jimmy Smith...

So I expect us to be much smoother on offense and our secondary is going to get better as time goes on.

Did it look pretty on offense? No....but a win is a win. Joe looks good most of the time, and I'm sure he knows he can do better and he will. Sometimes defenses are just good..and both D's tonight were just playing great ball..just so happens ours played much better...

So if anyone is freaking out about Joe or the offense, take a realistic look at the game, the situation we are in with injuries, etc...this win was IMPRESSIVE all things considered...(as of right now it doesnt look like the Jets can come back...if they do you all can hate me forever)

Great game, AMAZING GAME SAVING game by our DEFENSE. Piss poor joke of a performance by Joe Flacco( 1successful throw in 2nd,3rd,4th quarter combined, and 2 INT, sub 200 yards)

With the Jets game over, we only have 3 games that I would call difficult out of our remaining 12 (Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Houston).

2 INTS? I thought it was 1 INT ?

...anyway like I stated above...it was a poor showing by the offense after the 1st quarter..the Jets were getting pressure, Revis took away one side of the field..and some dropped balls...and the incompletions just start mounting up..

BIG win though and the Ravens have a BYE to work on getting better, they will get guys back healthy...our offense isnt this bad, i know that much

Flaccid shouldn't take some of the blame, but I don't think Can put him in a position to be successful. Who comes out throwing against the jets with one experienced pass catcher.

I dont think the Steelers are going to be a hard team to beat..we are set up to defeat them..their OL is weak and our D feasts on them..and their secondary has been questionable for some time

its true, Joe made two bad decisions...otherwise the Jets D played well..they are a top D in this league..Joe and the offense is still learning and growing, two 2nd year TEs, and 3 rookie WR...Boldin was pretty much blanketed all game...

we should be happy we got this win, our D looked incredible

I think people hate on Joe no matter what, he's the leader of the offense but its still starts with the OL....pass protection, then guys have to beat their man one on one, etc..but it always comes to the QB, it wasnt a good game by him by far..im not making excuses, I just know Joe is wayyyyyy better than what he showed, and our offense is wayy better than they showed!!

And will only get better as the year goes on...our Defense looked amazing and we are a dangerous team when they play like that

They're not as good as they were, but they're still a good team. Just because we dominated them in week 1 doesn't mean we're over the hump, and you know they're coming for (even more) blood the next time we play. That and playing your rival is always tough.

In joe's defense two first downs were dropped by Dickson.

I counted at least 5 drops.

You can't expect much with your only vet receiver being Boldin, and the rest being 1-2 year guys against the Jets' corners. Plus most of Joe's throws were without the run game to help set up the pass. Should have put the game in Rice's hand in the second quarter.

nah, it should be the ones he overthrew Torrey and another one behind him when Torrey was wide open. Torrey beat Revis deep........

Defense looked incredible, and if Mcknight wouldn't have jammed that kickoff return down our throats to give his team SOME life, this game would have looked a whole lot different. Possibly more like the rams game. The Jets may have gotten 6 points if they were lucky so i feel good about this win.

Flacco looked like Roethlisberger tonight. That play in the first where he took all the time in the world and ended up getting it to Rice for the first down was great. After that, he was careless with the football (interception was partially on Rice). Still taking too many unnecessary hits, and I am a little worried about that.

My thoughts, i dont know, im happy we won. But i dont feel good after this win. The Jets arnt that good and they were still in it. Flacco is just disappointing to me right now. If we pull that crap in the play offs we are 1 and done. Flacco is running scared, yea he was being rushed but atleast 50% of the time he took off running when he had atleast 2 to 2.5 second to throw before getting touched.

The score should have been 3 - 37.

Oh and am i the only one who thinks we should bench R.Williams. We have A.Allen who is alot better , fresher, faster and stronger. I cant stand R.Williams , i was a fan 10 yrs ago. Not anymore. Im getting sick of his fumbling . Does anyone notice how he carries the ball. He cuffs it, just laying there in him forearm. It looks like i could flick the ball with my two fingers and it ll come right out.

But im really excited for are Defense, they won the game tonight and the offense almost lost it for us. Multiple times.

Not worried. It was ultimately the playcalling that drove me nuts. Every QB has a bad game now and then, but the playcalling was atrocious.

Joe is the man. No doubt about it he will bounce back. The only thing that matters tonight is that we won.

Exactly, the only thing that matters is that we got the win. We are 3-1 heading into the bye, sitting firmly atop the AFC North and that is the only thing that matters.

Revis did nothing of the sort. Joe missed Torrey a few times on easy Nfl throws. Dont start with the excuses again, Joe played horrible.

Why does it matter ?? We played a good defense and we still came out on top because we are a balanced team...

Yea he got some yardage this game, but to me he get about 2 yds max. 8 out of 10 times. And i dont care about stats. Yea he will get a few break out 12 to 15 yarders but to me it isnt worth it when you run all the way down to the field just to fumble it. He was one of the reason that we lost the game to the Titans. Fumbled it at the 20 yd line of the Titans side.

The only bad thing about the game was we can't exactly brag about how good Joe was. On the plus side, we can always remind Jets fans that Sanchez is terrible.

1st place and a bye week which couldn't come at a better time. As far as I'm concerned were sittin pretty right now. Let's go get healthy, fix our problems on offense, and stick it to Houston.
