Which Steelers' player poses the biggest threat in us obtaining a victory Monday night?

Hypothetically, if for some reason we were to struggle in this game, which Steeler would have the biggest impact against us?

I think Harrison is the biggest threat. The man is all over the field. With our young OL concentrating on their DL, the Steelers are going to be bringing Harrison left and right. Harrison is very good in creating situations that lead to turnovers.

Let me know your thoughts.

Polamalu by far IMO. The guy is the next best safety in the league and like our man Ed he is all over the field. He has very good instincts, knows how to bait a QB and gets in on most every play.

I said Mendenhall, we can't take their ground game for granted, even if fast willie is out. But when you list them like that, they don't have that many real danger players, just alot of solid one.

James Harrison is one of the most overrated player in the league. If you take away our game last year, he had 5 sacks and 0 interceptions. Those are the same stats as Terrell Suggs had last year, and if you talk to anyone about him they'll tell you he had a down year. Harrison made the pro bowl . I'd bet good money he wouldn't have made the pro bowl if that game wasn't on monday night. He has some big games but he goes missing for the rest of the time.

I agree they are just a solid unit. But there is always some one who makes consistent plays during a game.

Mendenhall will be a big factor. They are looking to counter their weak pass protection, to do so Mendenhall is going to have to come up big. Not just in the run game, but in the short passing game as well.

As far as Harrison, the guy is a bit overrated, but with our game structure, and the fact that we should be running it to the left (since that is where their DL is hit the hardest with injuries). Harrison will get a chance to make some plays.

Well you could then argue he's just going to have to fill the gap the whole night and not rush the passer so much. If he's just sitting in the gap making tackles all night I don't really care if it's him or Farrior that's making the tackles.

Farrior or Polamalu, or really just their defense in general... I'm not really too worried about the steelers offense going up against our defense. Mendenhall will regain his fumblitis from the preseason with how hard our defense has been hitting. Their offensive line has obviously been pretty bad against good defenses (even the Texans and Browns got some sacks on Big Ben) and guess what: we have a great defense. Big Ben can't hurt us if he is being rushed into throws or reating turf all night.

Very True. He'll be too busy trying to make the tackles on our run game.

its polamalu, pitts version of reed, he is all over the field, i hope joe can read the D. Mendenhall had my backing before the draft, but he fumbled a ton in preseason, and hasnt had much work since, i hope for our sake he still has slippery fingers. Gonna be tough for them to run the ball anyway.

I think it's gotta be Big Ben. If they had a lesser QB i wouldn't be that worried but these other guys could be replaced (maybe not Troy)

Jeff Reed

lol...seriously

reshard mendenhall will do nothing...and seriously...even with fast willie their run game does nothing against us...hell we got beat 38-7 last year with no help from their run game...but they cant get us through the air either
last time ben faced ed and c-mac both he was awful
polamalu got torched by demetrius williams and marc clayton
james farrior?...well i dont know how well he can stop willis
hines may but a block on someone...but as far as catches he will do nothing
james harrison's game last year i doubt will happen again...of the listed though he is the biggest threat

Big Ben

Their receivers has to rely on Ben to deliver the ball. So, if we sack him often, or hurry him, they won't stand a chance because they definately can't run on us. Last years Blow-Out was something that happens to every team once in a while. It won't happen again!

def has to be little ben.

he is a great passer with good weapons. thankfully his line is built out of cardboard, and im not talking about the good kind and the ravens pass rush will get in his face early and often

Pass Offense keeping up with Steelers is my only worry. Poli is hard to be read by the greatest QBs. If Flacco throws 2 to the Browns D...we'll see Flacco only gets better.

Its Big Ben. If he is on(and not hurt) he can take advantage of all the blitzing the D does. I'm sorry but Polamalu is overrated. He is the AFC version of Roy Williams(Cowboys), good hitter & some playmaking ability but he is exposed in coverage.

It's Definitely James Harrison. Big Ben doesn't scare me at ALL and hines ward just has heart and a mouth but he doesn't scare me either. What scares me is James Harrison rolling off the corner and laying Flacco lights out. With Hampton out their gonna have to Blitz even MORE to get to Flacco which sucks for us cuz #92 is getting his number called a lot on MNF.

gotta say polamalu. regardless of what team he plays for, dude is a beast! especially when he's got a rookie QB to hone in on. if flacco makes a mistake, polamalu will expose it. beware of the hair!

but seriously, one man can't beat a whole team. get to the QB and the game is ours- bottomline!
