Is It Time To Cut Laurence Maroney?

4 posts in this topic

Laurence Maroney I got deep in the rounds. I can never see the guy getting off my bench to play. Do you think it would be beneficial for me to cut Maroney if I need some help especially during my tough bye week 4?

I'm looking at Selvin Young on the wire
Selvin Young - He has a 6.7 ypc average - He has more upside than Maroney - And he is going against the Cheifs worse Rushing Defense in the league in Week 4.

I guess my question is Selvin Young or Laurence Maroney? I have a pretty deep league so there are little options. Pierre Thomas is still out there, so is McClain.

Well with Maroney being injured and the Pats deep at RB if you need someone else to put in at RB then I would say drop him to pick up someone who could help you more.

I agree, Selvin Young over Maroney.

However...Pierre Thomas is a bit of a sleeper, since he's grown into a larger role in the Saints offense. He is currently being utilized on short-yardage situations and on swing passes out of the backfield and is the Saints' leading kick returner.

He's on pace to exceed his rookie output, and he looks to be Reggie Bush's immediate backup if neither Deuce McAllister nor Aaron Stecker can return at full-strength.

Thomas currently has three rushing TDs on the season (two against Washington last week), and if his production keeps up, he should be a steady performer at the flex spot when you need someone.

Otherwise, I'd still go with Selvin Young if you can't pick up both Young and Thomas.
