Couldn't we sign Josh Victorian or something?

Great another special team signing to keep Kindle off the field....
Great, I didnt even think about that.

Friggen Harbaugh's ST's heros.

Well he still has one more deal left on his contract. Two years on IR is tough. Hopefully he can come back to 100% next training camp and we'll see from there.

So Foxworth is on IR and we are bringing back P. Burgess! wow, we are getting thin once again at CB.
yup, and Chris Carr still isnt back 100%...so Im thinking Ozzie signs a CB for the veteran minimum to get some more experience back there

Right now Webb is the most experienced starter....him and Carr....

2 years, 14 mil to sit in IR?
give the guy a break, its not his fault there was a lock out and he got no rehab in....our CB group is very young right now

my wish list, Ozzie goes out and signs a veteran CB for the minimum......we'll see

That setback of his must have been a lot more serious than anyone originally thought. I'm surprised we signed Burgess though, I'd have expected us to go after a free agent corner being as we are really thin there now. I have next to no doubt that he's done as a Raven now.

I do know that Jimmy is progressing well though. He keeps saying via Twitter that he's getting close to a comeback.

LOL I never said its his fault, but his contract needs to get redone or something. If he gets back to 2009 form I think he could have a place on this team. Maybe as a 3rd or 4th corner. He's not as bad as Frank Walker was, when foxworth was healthy.

This comes as a shock. I'm holding out on more official word, of course.

Like the rest of you, I'm hoping it means good things about the health of Chris Carr and Jimmy Smith and not just something that basically needed to be done for a roster spot because Foxworth isn't commensurate to benefiting this team as much as Burgess is with his current state of health. He certainly did not look good in every snap he was in this year.

So, I'm hoping that it's the former and this was just the opportunity to put him back on IR and not the latter.

Not sure why people are complaining about foxy and our cb depth.

We are thin without foxy on ir so there is no logical reason to act like his official ouster makes us thin.

This was my first thought. What the heck is Kindle doin?! We just signed a guy we cut because the coaches aren't confident in Kindle.

At any rate, kinda saw Foxy put on IR coming. He wasn't gonna be playin and if he was healthy, a back up role only. So this makes sense to get a guy. But come on Kindle!

I really really hope Carr can stay healthy. Him and Webb with the experience and Jimmy Smith and Williams are gonna have to get us through the season
Maybe he looks confused or something in practice? I really don't know, but from what harbaugh said, "there are better players than him" at this moment. Hard to believe considering he was a second round draft pick, could the head injury really have effected him this much?

With the posted information, the glaring screw-up by Ozzie this off season was not resigning a standout corner for the Ravens like Wilson was. I bet you many here will agree with this.

They need to bring a CB in, if another one goes down were going to be in a bad bad position. The highest experience right now is Carr and im not too comfortable with that! And many are saying well be fine when Jimmy comes back, but seem to forget he hasnt played in a real game yet, there's a possibilty he might suck? It's going to take time for him to get to game speed and has a lot to learn.

Its not quite that easy. The FO obviously thought Foxworth would be healthy this season, so there was an error in evaluating his knee's health but a lot of that blame can go to the lockout.

I've gone over this seemingly a hundred times, but because of the way Foxworth's contract was structured it made little sense to cut him in the preseason. It wouldnt have saved us much cap room at all, and it made sense to roll the dice with him and hope the knee is healthy. Obviously it didnt work out, but the fact remains we didnt have the cap space to go after a premiere CB in Free Agency. It would be nice to have some more CB depth, but right now we have one of the best O-lines with great depth and that is because of the brilliance of Ozzie.

It's impossible to predict injuries, but considering that we have lost Foxworth, Carr for 2 games and Jimmy Smith for the first part of the season and still have 3 quality CBs is impressive. We have solid depth at CB. Once we get Jimmy back we will be very strong in the secondary.

I'm guessing an injury settlement is next. I'll be happy when this Foxworth mess is done; it's been disappointing.

I'm not 100% about this, but because Foxworth is a vested veteran we would have to pay him the rest of his salary for this year. We will probably end up releasing him before next year anyway, but putting him on IR makes sense for now if he is unable to perform.

Oz is human? He makes mistakes? Say it ain't so!!!! There isn't any other way to swing it, but the Ravens struck out with this deal. It doesn't happen often, but this could be Foxworth's last stunt in the NFL. Is this the time where I say I was wrong about Foxworth when I tried defending him?

I wouldn't mind bringing in Bryan McCann for a workout. He's still out there after being cut by the Cowboys.

I'm just kind of shocked by this news. I thought we gave him a week off to help him out but I guess his knee is still a big work in progress.

I blew my knee up ripping the ACL and the MCL in 2007. It took me about 3 months after surgery before I was riding a bike and light running. I would say it was probably a year before I played a sport like football with any cutting or sprinting.

Seems to me Foxworth is right on schedule. I know everyone is different but I think he could come back next season. I am always surprised when players do come back so quickly and Foxworth was in that boat.

I think the Kindle situation is more worrisome than losing Foxworth...

Our secondary as it stands now, didn't really improve but we get a lot more pressure on the QB so that has to count for something

That leaves the question open how Jimmy's progressing, because now sending fox to IR and re-signing a LB means we have cary, webb, gorrer and brown with carr still not 100%

other than that i didnt like fox in 2008 so i didnt understand why we even made him such a high offer in '09, and i still didn't think he played all that well in 2009 with the ravens. Think we should have got rid of him during TC after the coaching staff saw he isn't moving very well after his injury.

Foxworth was mediocre and overpriced even with perfect knees. I smell and injury settlement.

Regardless of where "he wanted to go", he was a Raven and we were in the bargaining position. ...We could have enticed him; I much rather would have had Wilson instead of Carr.

Wilson seldom played last yr. Isnt great in wash and we have jimmy smith and impoved cary. Wilson was not going to be enticed for inactive status

Wilson was our starting CB after I think week 7. He played extremely well when given the opportunity and would have probably been a starter for us this year. However, I fully believe that he wanted to play for the Skins and they guaranteed him a starting job.

Now all the people saying cut him look a lot less dumb. Dude has a bum knee his career as a productive player is over. We could've gotten like 2.5 of our 7 mil back.I had a bad feeling about fox since day 1. Never seemed like a Raven type of guy. We need Jimmy back bad now.Next man up let's see if anyone shines.
