Ravens Games Nationally Televised

43 posts in this topic

i am blown away by the fact that this season (so far) the Ravens games have been nationally televised.

i've been able to watch our boys on tv play weeks 1-3 (steelers, titans and rams). and this coming Sunday vs the Jets will also be nationally televised. last season....due to living out of the Baltimore area, i've had to watch a few of their games on the internet or catch the highlights later that day. i am really diggin watching them live the first 4 weeks of this season.

They haven't been nationaly bodacasted, it's been regional. We're have essentially got lucky so far with Pittsburghs week 2 nfc matchup being on fox and then they had SNF last week. You know if the freaking steelers have a game in our time slot, they're gonna get the broadcast. I live in VB and have also been pleasently surprised to get to see them every week so far. I don't think we're gonna be so lucky weeks 6 and 8. We will get the MNF in Jax and the week 9 vs. the squeelers. I haven't looked past that week yet to see if we'll get the broadcast. We should get the game when the squeelers are on bye. Then we have the Thurs night game on thanksgiving so we'll get to see more than usual.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's just been regional. I know the Ravens-Titans game wasn't even televised to the entire region because we were playing at the same time as the Redskins, so I don't think they were showing it south of Laurel or wherever that Redskins/Ravens coverage cutoff line is. I know my sister who lives in Woodbridge, VA couldn't watch it since they were airing the Redskins game instead, and same goes for my parents in Waldorf, MD. I was on the way back from Deep Creek that day and we wound up pulling into a bar in Frederick to watch it. I think this Sunday will be our first nationally televised game

The games have not been nationally televised. The game this weekend will be the first I can watch on TV this season.

Sunday ticket is the bomb I'm not at the mercy of the local stations. It would NFC west and cardinal football if I didn't have the ticket.

I think as more and more people catch on to the Purple & Black Phenom. That will cause more to ask there games to be televised and stations for rating purposes would be forced to do so...

A lot cheaper just hitting the sports bars up like a Buffalo Wild Wings or something. You spend like 3 to $400 for the ticket and at the sports bar you might spend a little over a half of that with great food to go with it! I live in Dallas so I'm like a regular at the sports bars down here! I'm also pretty much the only Baltimore Ravens fan down here also, haven't seen or heard of another Baltimore fan in Dallas!

20 x 16 is 320.

So if you go for every game and only spend 20 you paid for sunday ticket. That includes gas to go there.

When my wife and I used to go to pubs for mnf with drinks and food it was $50 each game. Definately cheaper and more convenient to watch at home and get a better view of the game while being comfortable.

But to each their own...

I dont know if this has been mentioned but you can buy Sunday Ticket on Directv through the PS3 so you dont need directv. Just something to think about for people out there, they have done a terrible job of marketing it

The coverage maps show it all: http://the506.com/nflmaps/

This is the first national game. You just happened to get the other games in your area for weeks 1 - 3. Week 1 was a big game, so a lot of places got it, but places like Ohio, Tenn, Miss, Georgia, Texas, Indiana, etc didn't because their home teams were playing at that same timeslot on CBS.

Anyway, the 506's coverage maps are great. They show everything. Can't wait to see Houston beat Pittsburgh in the early game on my TV, and then have the Den@GB game on the background as I watch New England @ Oakland.

What he said.

But hey, it's great you got to watch the Ravens every week so far! There are plenty of less fortunate misplaced NFL fans that I'm sure are envious of your luck!

For some odd reason the Tennessee Titans game was blacked out on CBS in the College Park / DC area. The Redskins were on FOX so I don't know why they didn't show the Ravesn game on CBS instead of infomercials...

There are always a couple of games per year that College Park doesn't get Raven's games and we get infomercials instead. As soon as you get north of 495 you'll get the game on CBS.

Always angered me when that happened.

Yes, I have only gotten the Pittsburg game up in NYC. I kind of hate that the Jets and Ravens play sunday night for selfish reasons in that I didnt want them to waste a game against the Jets which I would be able to see anyway since I live in NYC on a nationally televised night.

Luckily every bar has NFL Sunday Ticket...

The rules for blackout are confusing as a whole, but you hit on the reason - Redskins were on at the same time, you are in a Redskins primary market with Fox 5, so WUSA 9 had to black out. Since you are in the College Park area, you should be able to get a digital converter box and amplified antenna to pull in WJZ 13 out of Baltimore, should the need arise again. I have a digital box and amplified antenna just in case my Directv goes out, because you never know

I live in St. Louis, so far, I have only got to see one Ravens game televised (Ravens vs. Rams). Not counting the one free week I got of the Sunday Ticket from DirecTV. It kinda sucks :/
