Madden 08 Cover!!

Obviously Vince Young being on the cover is trash. 2 reasons why. #1 a rookie should never be on the cover unless they had a record breaking phenominal season. #2 Vince was far from phenominal,he had a QB rating in the 60's and didnt even lead his team 2 the playoffs. Sure a couple sweet runs here and there by him but that doesnt cut it. If u dont make it 2 the playoffs your season was useless. Personally I think Asuante Samuel of the NE Patriots deserved it the most. coming in 2nd probly Champ Bailey. its about time he should get a cover. But most importantly its about time a Defensive back gets some recognition 4 what they do and get on a cover. ya know? Who do u think deserved the cover???

But I think that Vince shouldn't be on there, I guess like Reed said, no one wanted the cover spot. But if I was playing in the NFL and was asked to be on the cover, I would take that as a huge compliment, and definitely do it.

They should start putting on players on Defense, or just great players from other positions then just QB and RB. I know that they had a few players not of those positions on the cover, but not as many as there should be.

Well, those are the 'sexiest' positions. That said, last year they got the MVP, the year before they had a QB who made the NFC Championship, and was expected to make it to a Superbowl that year. And the year before that, they had the Defensive MVP.

It's a marketing decision, so they're always going to go to the money positions, which are, in order: Quarterback, running back, #1 wideout, linebacker. In order for someone from another position to get on there, they'd have to deliver the performance of a lifetime.

Well they did with Ray Ray when he was on the cover, but they barely put a defensive player on the cover.

I think Young was on the cover for two main reasons:

1.) Nobody else wanted it and Young would gladly accept it.

2.) Maybe they did give him at least some credit for taking a somewhat garbage Titans team to within 1 game of the playoffs? Cause granted his QB skills ain't all that as you said but he still did some amazing things at the QB position with them.

lol but seriously you know what i think? i think that there really is no curse or anything... its more of a mental thing, and what not, players and people alike when they hear who will be on the Cover of the Newest Madden game, they all think (for the most part)....Bad year coming up for that player.......when in Reality i honestly think that its Pure Mental and it just gets people thinking/worrying about the players performance, therefore resulting in Hesistant Play and Players not giving their Full effort.....because their mind is on this so called "curse" and not on his game play....also resulting in not only bad Play and hesistation BUT a injury that could be a season Ending injury for the player
