Ravens Schedule

10 posts in this topic

Of course it's too early to tell, but I wanted to get opinions on how fans feel about the rest of the Ravens schedule compared to the Steelers schedule.
In my opinion the Steelers have an easier schedule then we do, and it looks like it's going to be almost impossible to get a home playoff game this season.
But, like I said it's too early to tell and you never know what will happen in the NFL.
Here are a few situations that worry me.

The Steelers face the Colts w/o Manning.
The only team that they play that will give them a tough game is the Pats. (division games aside)
There is no reason why the Steelers can't go undefeated after their bye week.
The Steelers have 3 back to back home games while we only have two.

The Ravens have a very early bye week leaving us with 12 straight games towards the end of the season.
We have more than one difficult team to play, we have to play the Jets, Chargers (on the west coast) and the Colts possibly with Manning back.
We play the Steelers in Pitts. and then travel to the west coast to play the Seahawks.
Back to back road games and especially when an east coast team travels to the west coast it usually gets ugly.
We also have a short week after a monday night game on the west coast when we play the Cardinals.
We have back to back divisional games to close out the regular season.

Ravens------ Steelers

PITT------ @BAL
@TEN------ SEA
@STL------ @IND
JETS------ @HOU
BYE------ TENN
HOU------ JACK
@JAC------ @ ARI
ARI------ NE
@PITT------ BAL
@SEA------ @CIN
CIN------ BYE
SF------ @KC
@CLE------ CINN
IND------ CLE
@SD------ @SF
CLE------ STL
@CIN------ @CLEV

(I know, that looks terrible)

I don't feel the whole "west or east coast" thing matters. The Chargers will present problems because they have big receivers who can get down the field and present perfect red zone targets. But I feel their offensive line can be beat, and the Ravens already own the psychological factor over Philip Rivers. We know he plays badly when you get inside his head. The Patriots beat them because of their mental edge over the Chargers.

Seattle shouldn't present a problem, even if it is in their stadium.

The Colts shouldn't present a problem, even if Manning is back by then. I know he owns the Ravens... but I have to believe if ever there was a year where the Ravens offense would not let their horrible defense shut them down, it would be this year.

The hardest games will be next week against the Jets, and of course the game in Pittsburgh. After that, I'm worried about the Bengals because their defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer owns Flacco.

I think the Ravens will lose against the Jets. But after that game, I can see the Ravens winning every single game. As for the Steelers, I think they will lose to the Patriots... and maybe the Texans, but I can see them winning every single game too. So in summary... that 2nd match-up between the Ravens and Steelers is probably going to be HUGE in determining the division winner and playoff seeding.

You say in your title that it's "too early to worry", but man, the way you made this topic makes me kind of panic lol.Just have to take care of business and win the games we're supposed to win. I'm only worried about MY team, never thinking about the Steelers. Of course I want them to lose every single game, but we can't let them dictate our future.

I still think we have a cake schedule. @Pitt of course will be a difficult game and Houston is looking pretty good, but that game is at home. I doubt Manning plays this season at all. The only other game that concerns me is @SD, but its near the end of the season and hopefully our offense will be clicking by that point. I'm honestly not worried about the Jets at all. I think they are incredibly overrated in general, and they will be without their best OLinema in Nick Mangold. It will likely be a defensive battle, but I have a lot more faith in Flacco, Rice, Boldin, Dickson, and Pitta than Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes. Their RBs are not good and without Mangold they wont be able to run at all.

Other than traveling to Seattle do not see much a problem against them,The game in San Diego will be a huge challenge and the home games against Houston & NYJ are big tests but IMO the Steelers the tougher schedule travel wise.

West coast teams went O fer last week traveling East IMO it is a little easier going East to West (from experiences) anyway.

I think after the this weeks game we should know what's up with our Ravens...Where going to handle business and then focus on the Jets. I like our offense way better then the Jets offense and our D is going to have Bradford uncomfortable the whole game..We def won't lose two games in a row and we have a lot at stake this season I see us at 13-3 or 12-4 again but this is our year to final get a home playoff game,as long as we get back on track we'll be unstoppable

Come on buddy, dont say that, NEVER say that, even if most of us are thinking about it or its in the back of our heads. You just dont say that. I actually feel that we can beat the JETS, We are playing them at Home and our Crowd really is the 12th man. I still think Sanchez is horrible, nothing but play action passes. The kid is horrible, they made him Team captain so he could build his self esteem, really, I think thats pretty bad.

I gotta disagree with ya on that, i think they are underrated , they are a good team with a good qb and did nothing but upgrade their Defense, J. Joseph is a beast and i was actually hoping we would have gotten him. Although i will say A. Foster is overrated. I think it was a fluke last yr with him and Vonta really did make a difference.
