Would Love: Flacco Gameday NFLN Mic'd Up

31 posts in this topic

I would LOVE for NFLN to put a mic on Flacco because to my knowledge that has never been done for him. Now obviously, they most likely feel there isnt enough entertainment value to mic'd Flacco. (No, Im not a Flacco 'hater'). But the whole point in doing a mic'd up session is to entertain people for 1/2 Hr television show.

Mainly- I want to put this whole Flacco running offense thing to rest. It gets hard hearing this after 4 years. The man can play some football. Question we have as fans is- can he be the face, the field General, and the leader of a team? .... Outwardly.

He is the only QB I see who scores a TD and does not go and chest bump his teammates, pump his fist ect ect. During the steelers game (week 1), I noticed and after that first TD Flacco seemed to have pretended to be very excited, pumping fist, and yelling, but then the look in his eyes for a few seconds after that was like "OK, I got that out, thats what everyone wanted to see". But it was a glance of dissastifaction at his actions of getting excited.. thats the only way I can explain it.

All of this just to say, I would love to truely have a glance at Flacco's on the field mentality, and get inside his "head". Plus you would hear Cameron and Harbaugh as well if like other NFLN micc'd up sessions. I love hearing "inside the huddle", and the other various emotions that you cannot see thru the helmet.

It would be cool to have him micd up if nothing else to prove to haters that he does display emotion...
But other than that ehh we got bigger fish to fry than worrying about joe's lack of chest bumps/fist bumps/ celebrations or w/e...

But everytime I turn around, Im hearing about how Flacco cannot audible, and all this other nonsense. My point was that, I want to put all these theorys thru the fire and in the dirt. If Flacco was mic'd it might lead to the end of it.

What IS this? Even when Flacco does show emotion it's somehow faked or not enough? I'd thought we'd be done with this craziness by now. I won't even bother pumping out examples because there are countless ones.

He was also wired during the Broncos game last season.

But none of that has come from the coaching staff. I wonder why people continue to bring it up despite the people involved say he does audible....

What are you on about? He does celebrate TD's, pumping his fist and doing his version of the Dean Scream
So he doesn't jump around, so what? Either did Joe Montana, the original Joe Cool

Nothing personal OP but I just don't believe that when he threw the first TD against the Steelers that he pretended to celebrate. After all the questions that were asked of us and especially of him in particular about whether he could play well against/beat the Steelers... I just don't think it's possible that he didn't thoroughly enjoy that moment.

Hahahaha. Pretends to celebrate? How is that even possible? Thats like saying my wife and I pretend to scare the crap out of our pets every time the Ravens score and we go nuts.

I'd care more about him displaying leadership than emotion but I'd like to see that passion from him as well. I am really hoping Flacco comes through this year and performs to the level of an elite QB. It's getting harder and harder to defend him against my personal naysayers with 129 yard passing games (example).

In short, I agree though I'd go out of my way to watch him mic'ed up.

1-It would be cool to see Joe micd up sometime this year, better to watch him go over film for like 30 seconds w/ john or cam
2-Joe is just cool like dat, as long as he does what hes paid to do and do it well I could care less if he fist pumps or whatever. Id rather have him be the way he is then be some loudmouth who talks too much and cant always back it up

nice theory, you're crazy if you think Flacco wasnt pumped..he always does that fist pump thing..always

Joe shows emotion and when he does you question it and think he's trying to fake ppl into believing its real ? lol

Flacco police are out and about....

Don't you guys know it's illegal to start a thread about Joe Flacco, regardless of it's content (unless of course you're a "hall of famer" or "veteran" on the forum)?

I'm giving everyone negative comments on here! Why? Because you're talking about Joe again. Freakin' haters. Hatin' on Joe. You hate Joe, because you're talking about Joe. Stupid Joe haters...can't believer somebody would wish something like Joe being mic'd up! Freakin Joe haters!

Wha....what?!  Hahahahahaha.  I mean..I don't even know where to start.  So OP I'm curious, do you really believe Joe was out there after throwing a TD pass within a minute of starting the Steeler game pretending to be happy about getting in the first quick strike?  If so, I happen to own a huge bridge out in Brooklyn I think you'd be very interested in buying from me.

Why do people care about Joe's emotions?  Why is that so important to people still after three years.  Yes, he's a horrible actor (which is why the thought that he'd be 'pretending' to be excited is so hilarious) and no, he doesn't Riverdance after every TD throw.  So what?  Aren't there more important things to worry about regarding Flacco then whether or not Joe's gonna jump onto Bryant McKinnie's back after a touchdown for a little celebratory horsie ride after a TD?

This I realize; I was being facetious. More or less, poking fun at people who are constantly condemning any thread about Joe - unless its absolute praise.

I like Flacco. He isn't a superstar yet, but I see a big contract extention in his future. First, sign Rice for 5 or 6 years, then we can talk about Flacco's extention for awhile. I don't see it getting done until after the end of the season. It is going to cost us a bundle if he finally gets us to the Super Bowl.
