Lee Evans

I hope I'm wrong, but I've had this funny feeling since the steelers game that we may have signed a White Elephant in Evans. Don't recall what part of the game it occurred, but he was running a straight sideline route, covered well, and Joe threw a perfect strike back shoulder. Evans didn't even give it a thought as it whizzed behind him and I'm thinking, "Is this guy in the same game?"

Also, it seems like he came to us with the ankle. The first time the press saw him icing his ankle and wearing a boot he was quoted as saying "It's nuthin' I do this all the time......" Could be chronic.

Anyone else thinking the same?

I doubt it, he is not all that old and was relied on as the only offense that the bills had for years with less than admirable QB play. I think he just never had time to rest. I think he is still perfectly capable of making plays, and to be hones as long as teams keep respecting him like they did in the steeler's game I could care less if he catches less than 30 balls this year, because Q will catch a 100, and then that will leave a wide open playing field for the young guys to get after opposing defenses not to mention the work Dickson can do in the middle.

But strictly from his performance thus far in terms of numbers has been disappointing, but if we let him sit this week and just rehab I think he may just come back to the best he has ever been.

If they knew he wasn't 100%, they should have let him rest this week. He was visibly limping. Harbs has made some bad decisions lately.

You had 2 negs. Obviously he couldn't have negged you twice, so it's fair to say that he wasn't the only person in disagreement. Since not everyone who reps comments, you simply assumed that he negged you and began insulting him. Seems a little unnecessary.

Haha! I really had nothing else to say. People need to realize that this is only the second game of the season. Evans is getting used to this offense and I don't believe his ankle injury is chronic, but of course, who am I to say otherwise? Either way, I'm not thinking the same as the person who started this topic. Evans is my boy.

Well professor, when I posted the comment there was one view, one reply and 1 neg. Pretty safe assumption I'd say. And it was my opinion that the neg was a little unnecessary, kind of insulting. And I was not insulting him, jus' making a little joke. American humor, eh?

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but this site is really slow when it comes to showing the views of a topic. I did an experiment on a new thread with 0 views, viewed it 5 times by refreshing, and it didn't count those views until like an hour later. Don't ask why I did this because I can't even give you a good answer. But you should take the negatives as constructive criticism instead of a personal insult. I used to get mad as hell when I would get negatives when I first made an account, but not everyone is going to agree with you on certain things. The best thing to do is back your point with concise conversation, instead of getting defensive and calling people out.

There couldn't have been one view. I saw your comment before the negs, so that's erroneous. I have a strong doubt that your reply was a mere joke, especially if you yourself admit that you found it insulting. I gave him a positive rep, which was gone after your rebuttal. It's a safe assumption that you negged him back in a fit of frustration, as a way of returning the favor. I'm not exactly immune to American humor. Your comment showed no signs of it.

Thanks for the analysis, but obviously what you and I saw was different.

My reference to "insulting" was only a sarcastic comment on what you had said. And i didn't neg Romo; Maybe it was the same person that gave me the positive(?). You are not "immune", but obviously don't understand.

It's all good man. We're on the same page now. I respect your opinion on Evans but I've just always been a fan, so I don't think we traded for a dud. I think a few weeks in, he'll be back to his old self.

Hes not familiar with the offense, he has very little chemistry with Flacco, and is banged up on top of that.

Believe me, unless he gets injured, he'll be a big time weapon for us by mid to late season.

Call me old fashioned but I think we need a larger sample size before we run a guy under the bus.

Evans has shown that the can play [i]when healthy[/i], and that's the key. With Reed out and Evans likely resting I expect Torrey, and probably Tandon to see some action on Sunday.
