Purple Punishment

My Friend Is A Chicago Cub!

We grew up playing baseball in the street. Now he makes the Cubs active roster. Amazing! Just a year ago he was on the single A club. I hope he does good for the duration of the season. Hes local, born and raised in Charm City!

Cool stuff! The son of one of my coaches was drafted as a pitcher in the 19th round by the Oakland A's this year, so hopefully he can make it too.

I was in Chicago last week for an IT conference and did a Wrigley Field tour. Amazing ballpark and if you ever get a chance go see it.

Well he is a catcher so I dont know how he will pan out. I dont know if we can plan that forum trip yet lol.

Catcher's usually have the "easiest" time getting to the big leagues. Its very rare to find good catchers in all facets of the game, and even rarer to find a catcher who can call a good game that pitchers feel comfortable with. If a catcher has the ability to scout opposing hitters and form game plans for each hitter (calling a game for a pitcher) those guys move up to the big leagues in a hurry.

Do the Cubs still qualify as a major league team?

Barely... same goes for the O's and Astros.
