What exactly do u see that makes Zibby bad in coverage? What that? You have nothing, oh ok.

Oh...blowing coverage...chasing down guys. That not enough?

Show me the tape. If he has played so poorly, why is he still starting? I have to believe the coaches know who is a better fit than you do (no offense). It seems to me that we just have differing opinions. I have seen a lot of good things from Zibby. Hes not a huge hitter like Pollard, but he makes the plays he needs to in the run game, and I still contend that he is good in coverage. Can you at least point out the plays where he has been burned so bad?

This is more of a marketing strategy then a football one sorry. The truth is they want to appeal to as many fans as possible and Zibby well is a fan favorite. Didn't mean to be blunt but there it is., For the record there is nothing Zibby does on a football field better than Pollard. Yet he plays.

I like Pollard and Zibby. It's kind of like having Dickson and Pitta. Rotate them and let them all have a turn. Foxworth has taken a lot of flak this week, but he may improve as the season progresses and he heals more. Still, I don't think that we will make a move this year. Let's draft another CB next year and drop him.

Your posts never fail to amaze me. A marketing strategy to get more fans? Wow. That's sheer brilliance man. Never even thought of that. I always see guys wearin Zbikowski jerseys, the fans just love him, don't they?

That's what I thought. Guess not though.

I guess we expect all our DB's to completely shut down the other team's passing game. We can't let Zibby allow a single pass!

Zbikowski is not nearly as bad as y'all make him sound. How many passes did he allow? Two? Sounds alright to me. I understand that you guys wanna see a hard hitting safety out there that can hit, but I'd rather have a safety that can cover than a safety that can hit. afterall, coverage is a safeties number one responsibility. Prove to me Pollards' is any better. Prove it to me.

Pollard isn't nearly as bad in coverage as yall make HIM out to be... Prove that Zibby is any better! All things being equal Pollard is the better athlete, bigger, more explosive, more intensity, just a better football player... Play the Angry man!!! Sour grape Texans...

Hey all im saying is lets see, give him a cance to learn the coverages, he's coachable... The man's not brain-dead, and he is a good athlete, plus he's young... What Zibby lacks (intensity, physicality, nastyness, meaness, big play ability, intimidation factor, run stopping beast, qb sacking potental, knock out potential) is not as coachable.

I guess you can get better in coverage, but Pollard is a year removed from being statistically the worst coverage safety in the NFL. There's a reason most DBs aren't 6'2, 225.

The jokes are really flying tonight. Cant we all just come to a happy medium? They both have strengths and will both contribute to the team this year. To suggest one safety is so much better than the other is foolish.

In all fairness, it's just "greater than", not "so much better than". :)

Reminds me of 'Back-up QB Syndrome'. Kinda the same thing with Jimmy... people are apt to trust the devil they don't know (based on "potential")... 'tis the nature of the beast I guess.

And to think, nobody was high on pollard when we got him. Then he got that pick in preseason and he's the best SS the Ravens have ever seen.

We end up losing a game and Tommy Z is the worst player on the field.

There should be democratic coaching. We'd be undefeated for at least a century.

Okay, since nobody is coming up with anything great to say about Zbikowski except "he's clearly better," then fine... let's all agree on one thing:

Week 1, Pollard receiver more playing time. The Ravens defense DOMINATED.

Week 2, Pollard was hardly on the field at all. The Ravens was DOMINATED.

And most of you are completely ignoring the fact that when you have another guy who crushes guys, makes great open field tackles, and is in every scrum fighting for his teammates... the entire team plays better. Pollard was dishing out plenty of hits in Week 1, and came to the defense of anyone who Hines Ward and company tried to pick fights with. We can argue over who is the better player all day, but we know that the TEAM played entirely better in the game that Pollard got snaps in.

I don't think anyone is saying Pollard shouldn't see the field, but its pretty hilarious that you think we played better week1 because Pollard played more.

Show you guys instances where Zbikowski played well huh?
In the 4 games he replaced Ed Reed due to injury in '09, he had 2 picks (including one of reigning SB MVP Aaron Rodgers) and a 3rd vs Pittsburgh called back due to penalty.
In the 6 games Ed missed to start the season last year, the Ravens pass defense was ranked in the top 10 in the league so he obviously contributed to that. No big turnovers, but the entire secondary was very efficient in their job.

The hate for some of our players in unreal, absolutely unreal and it makes me ashamed to be associated with all you guys ripping on these guys. I'm sorry RBates, H8R and company don't have absolute control over a real franchise like you get to in Madden and I'm sure that is what drives you all nuts. I know you're in practice everyday evaluating these guys and determining these great assumptions that are littering this thread. I like Zibby and Pollard, both have excellent skills for different situations. I personally think Nakamura needs to get more shots at safety and not as the occassional dime back, he impressed me as much if not more so this preseason than Zibby and Pollard. Am I pissing and moaning because I'd like to see Haruki out there more? Nope, because I am more a true fan of my team than a fan of my "football intelligence" as many of you guys are demonstrating on here. If you don't like the product on the field, you don't have to be a fan of it! Go to another fanbase with your negativity because last week was a TEAM loss, not a loss because we played one safety more than the other. Our guys are ready for the Rams, are you all ready to stop crying and kneejerking over last week and be ready to support them?

I know. Had Chris Johnson been tearing us up, it could've had some merit. But how a Safety, who's a liability in coverage, is supposed to stop the Ravens from getting dominated in the quick passing game is beyond me.

Good post. Agreed on all counts.

I still have NO IDEA how Pollard getting more PT made our D better. It wasn't a significant amount of PT anyway.

I didn't see him on the injury report the entire week. Did he even dress?

Either way, today you saw exactly why there is NO WAY Zbikowski should be starting or playing over Pollard.

And just to rant a little further...

The entire defense looked stale, and I refuse to believe Matt Hasselback just "has our number." That was a horrible defensive game. (Yes, the offense was bad but nobody wants to hear me talk about that.)

Why in the world would you have your 4th or 5th corner on the other team's only real receiving threat? We had FOXWORTH on Britt. Not Cary Williams. Not Lardarius Webb. But the guy recovering from injury,,,, small, tiny, puny... Foxworth.
Is Foxworth fully healed , or is he just that bad seems like he cant cover his shadow if he fell down.

ONCE AGAIN gabefergy asks for proof of Zibby playing like trash..(after I gave him 2). I ask for an example of when he makes a big play or prevents a pass from being completed..... or does ANYTHING besides arrive late and push guys out of bounds after he is chasing from behind....
