Where Was Pollard?

124 posts in this topic

I didn't see him on the injury report the entire week. Did he even dress?

Either way, today you saw exactly why there is NO WAY Zbikowski should be starting or playing over Pollard.

And just to rant a little further...

The entire defense looked stale, and I refuse to believe Matt Hasselback just "has our number." That was a horrible defensive game. (Yes, the offense was bad but nobody wants to hear me talk about that.)

Why in the world would you have your 4th or 5th corner on the other team's only real receiving threat? We had FOXWORTH on Britt. Not Cary Williams. Not Lardarius Webb. But the guy recovering from injury,,,, small, tiny, puny... Foxworth.

The coaches are experimenting. Apparently they forgot that preseason is over.

So did Pollard even get in the game? Was he deactivated this week so they could "try stuff?"

He wasn't deactivated, but he didn't get on the field at all. At least I didn't see him.

ZIbby is the better pass defender so I don't see why they would have Pollard out when we were fine against the run.
[/quote]
My thoughts exactly. We had the run bottled up for the most part. Britt was our issue. I said I wouldn't come into ravens talk. Grrrr.

omg why was he sitting out.... zyb is not starting material. Pollard is the guy to be there with Ed hands down. They need to address that asap cause this weeks D disgusted me... as well as falco and the entire Offense.

Haha I came into the thread and the first three posts were hidden. I was wondering where Pollard was as well, but again I guess the fact that he's more of a run stopper as opposed to Tom makes sense.

No he is not! Stop saying this, Zibby is horrible, and shouldn't even be on the team

Just because he's NOT the better run defender... doesn't automatically make him the better pass defender. What do you see that makes him better than Pollard in pass coverage? He's never been good in my opinion. When people talked highly of him last year, I swear they were just confusing him with Jim Leonard from a season earlier.

Have you seen Pollard in coverage? No you haven't. You're just down on Zibby because we lost and if Pollard was out there, we still would have lost.

What about Pollard's sack ability and blitzing the QB????? Don't discount the threadstarter's question because we obviously could have used Pollard for more than run stuffing. We needed a pass rush today ladies and gentlemen.

Pollard would have made all of the difference today. Definitely a W if we start Pollard instead of Zibby. Either that, or ambien is making me post funny.

Can anyone explain to me why Zbikowski should start over Pollard???? Pollard is a better pass rusher and can hit people 10X harder then Zibby... I keep hearing that Zibby is better in pass protection.... When is the last time he has intercepted a pass let alone deflected one... all I ever see him do is run up after someone has already caught the ball and make a half assed tackle... [profanity deleted] if they're going to catch the ball at least lay the wood on them so they regret it...

They actually moved Britt around a lot. Williams had him quite a bit and he did make catches on Williams. They were very good catches though. One or two of them made me go wow. And at least Williams was right there in coverage. He is still inexperienced as a starter so I thought he did a pretty good job against a very good WR.

Britt was all over the field so the Pollard vs Zibby argument is moot IMO. It really didn't matter because Hasselbeck picked on Cary Williams all day. Webb even had a rough day and Foxworth was Foxworth.

We have serious serious issues with our secondary. I was never comfortable with this Williams guy and Jimmy smith being a rookie I was concerned about also.

I like Carr but he seems to be made of glass this season.

Teams now know how to beat up on the Ravens and this is ghoing to be very bad for the next few weeks

So tired of the Zibby is better in pass coverage bs. As far as i can tell Zibby is slow can't tackle and his anticipation or reaction to plays is slow. Which makes his game speed slow. Look the guys is terrible I'd rather see Haruki out there.

I had no idea Pollard was so limited in that game, I could only listen to it. Unfortunately, I can't explain it. I kind of think Haruki would probably be the best in pass coverage. I think he has more play making ability than Zibby. When he's on the field, he always seems to be around the ball. Then again, due to injuries, we need to use him as a CB when we get spread out.

As far as the pass rush goes, apparently they didn't bring the heat because of Hasselbeck's quick release. I think that's not a very good game plan. Every QB's biggest weakness is when you get in his face and either make him roll out or crash the pocket on him, depending on what kind of QB he is. We still could have sent more pressure and if any thing we could have disrupted timing and made Hasselbeck feel uncomfortable. Pollard could have very well been the guy we could have sent off the edge to create these problems for the Titans. Anyway, the game is over and hopefully we've learned from our mistakes.

Zibby is not better in an part of his game than Pollard. He is slow cant tackle and he def can't cover. The guy is a joke period and shouldn't be on the team.
