Talking about conversions is comparing apples to oranges. You called him the "Check down and screen play king" which implies a lack of attempts, not completions. If you check down, you didn't throw deep, which was your implication. Yes, he uses his RB quite a bit more than most, if not all, but if you don't think much of that is schemed, then you must have never played football as you would say. You get the ball to your playmakers, and Rice IS our playmaker, and perhaps the best receiving back in the league. That is schemed for a lot of the time, not just a checkdown.

You've got to stop with these strawman arguments, we are all on the same team here, and I think that is why you are rubbing a lot of people wrong here. I never acted like Joe doesn't use his RB a lot in the passing game. Not meant as a personal attack btw, just an observation.

Again no it doesn't throwing the ball deep can also be a deep throw away. Stats are misleading. What teams do you feel confident that we will beat this year? (By a hefty margin). I truly can't say that about one team on our schedule. Thats why it was a super surprise when we did it to Pittsburgh.(Defensive effort was the cause minus drive one) Im sure they will be alright on Offense eventually, but Joe or the offense is there yet.

I believe a lot of our fans were spoiled by that whooping we gave the Steelers week 1. I was at the Tenn. game and I'll tell you our receivers can not get open throughout the whole game. Lee Evans is injured and he hasn't been proven to be a threat for the Ravens yet so until he starts getting notice I believe our passing won't scare our opponents yet. There are people here who put the blame on Flacco but if the defense has a horrible game why aern't people putting the blame on Ray Ray since he's our leader on the D? People just need to calm down and look forward to the Rams game. Oh yeah, for people who said Flacco hasn't won us a game, its a TEAM sport like many here has mentioned. Flacco could of won us the Atlanta game last year, it was the D who failed us.

No, you were talking about him being a checkdown king. He can't be that and take a ton of shots down the field. Throwing it away, or a lack of conversions on deep routes (what you said last time) has nothing to do with the comparison. Anyway... Look, I think we will have to agree to disagree, because in my opinion to say that the Pitt game was won on all but one drive on defense is crazy. You have to score points on turnovers. How many years now have we gotten good field position and squandered it away? TONS! We scored on nearly every single turnover, on the Steeler's defense. If you can't credit those scores to the offense clicking very well that game, than I think you are not watching the same game as the rest of us. With that being said, the offense looked like crap last game. I hope they get back to form, and I think there are a few teams on that schedule that we should beat by more than one TD. Jags, Seahawks, Bengals. Blowouts like week one are rare, even against crap teams in this league.

The simple truth is, Flacco is the best we can get currently. We can win with him. We simply have to play to his stengths. Are there limitations with him at quarterback? For sure, but aren't there with basically any qb (minus Rodgers). And there are more upsides than limitations.

Cons: Sometimes slow in progressions, inproper footwork on throws when he is pressured, does not throw on the run very well, needs to take more command of offense (Cam or no Cam, Flacco could audible if he wanted, or simply call a different play when a bad one is called.)

Pros: Accurate when in pocket, can move around pocket and roll out and reset, can sometimes extend the play, one of the strongest arms in the league, consistency, rebounds well, tough both mentally and physically, can win late in games, doesn't turn it over very often...people should really stop complaining.

I wonder if this one counts as a "hefty margin." But, I bet this one was won by the defense too. LOL
