Still can't believe we let Josh Wilson go

The Ravens didn't let him go exactly. He got offered a really good contract from the Redskins and the Ravens weren't about to pay him that kind of money.

I didn't think cary played all that bad. I mean honestly we really thought he's some sort of allpro CB? He's solid not great but he can get better. I didn't think he gave up alot and was there on most the catches. Foxworth doesn't even have a NFL coverage window. The guy is beat by like 3-4 yards everytime. Webb bites to much and makes to many misstakes. You can't leave him on a island. Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing gorrer play over foxworth. He's worthless and he needs to be made inactive for quite a few weeks.

I agree with you about cary. People just assumed he was a pro bowl caliber corner. Hes young and from what I saw he was there on most catches, and played physical....I think this kid has alot of potential. regardless jimmy smith needs to get healthy asap, im tired of waiting to see our first draft picks play (kindle)

How can you say you don't see what Johnson is saying when he was the one actually playing in the game? We definitely went blitz-crazy on Sunday. You do have to still bring pressure against QBs no matter what, but you have to pick and choose your spots. With a QB throwing short passes, you're not going to have enough time to get there no matter how many people you blitz so you need people in coverage to eliminate those quick passes and try to get coverage sacks.

If we cut Foxworth, most of his money counts against the cap I believe similar to the Willis McGahee situation last year, so we're stuck with him. Try to find someone comparable to play for us for the veterans minimum and then we can talk.

But anyway, Monday was our complaining day, its off to focusing on St. Louis now.
I think we rushed our front 4 more than we blitzed, is it anyway you can pull up the statistics of this? I think we went blitz crazy the first week vs the Steelers but eased up a little vs the Seahawks!

haha the Seahawks, that damn Hasselbeck. I don't have any stats, but have the game recorded and I'll check it out later or wait until one of those advanced football sites come out with something.

If he doesn't trust himself.. why should we trust him?

What choice does the team really have with Jimmy and Carr hurting? As bad as he's looked, I doubt rookie Chykie Brown would fair much better.

I certainly agree with that. My point is, its probably not the best idea to put him on a number 1 WR, in an obvious passing situation, when you're trying have a comeback ... You have to put guys in positions to succeed , we certainly havent done that with Fox. Granted, injuries have dicatated it but I still think he should have been placed on PUP. He's not even close IMO. His involvement with the lockout has really stunted his recovery.

Even if he did not I dont see how he could fair much worse, and the reps for him are much more valuable.

Tell me, is there any risk in bringing Chris Mcallister in for a look while the secondary is thin? I'm not in the loop about what the club's feeling might be about how he left, but - all things considered - it seems like a risk-free proposition. I believe he is 34 now. Reports say he is in some financial difficulty and going through a nasty divorce, so he would likely play for the NFL minimum.

Wow. 2009 much?

I know he'll be up to par when we need him most. Right now we took an unfortunate blow early in our CB depth. It's football it happens.

There is no risk, also would be a level of surprised I have never been if there was any reward.

His knees are SHOT. That's why he couldn't stick with any other team, and he tried out for plenty of them.

Haven't read this entire thread and don't plan to, but it seems to me like Foxworth wasn't the only "terrible" corner we had out there Sunday, Cary and Lardarius were right there with him. At least Foxworth has a reason to be terrible, let's see you guys run around and cover a 6'3" Kenny Britt after ripping your ACL a year before that. Not being a Foxworth homer here, the bottom line is that he is an average corner and not really worth what we are currently paying him. I just find it really funny that there is an entire thread about how bad he has been playing when our other corners didn't exactly impress anyone Sunday either...

I hadn't realized that Harbs said this.
Foxworth has played in both games, but coach John Harbaugh said Monday that lingering issues with his surgically-repaired right knee could force the club to shelve Foxworth for some time.
I've not been impressed with Fox this year (like everyone else), but if he goes down too, Baltimore will really be in a bad place.

You pay me 27 mil for one year of work I may have gotten a lot of PI calls but he would not have scored a touchdown :).

All joking aside though I think you hit the nail on the head though it is that we are paying him good money for 8 games and people are tired of seeing him on the payroll when he has no upside left. That is why Webby got a pass.

I like Foxworth I was one of his supporters. I think he is a good number 2 or nickel corner when healthy but his contract is just <dumb>. 4.4 million for a back up c'mon man we should have just cut him and resigned Wilson. Even though he is still working on that knee, I hope he can play better later in the year when we're going to need him

Wilson didn't leave because we couldn't pay him.

Ravens insider said foxworth said his knee isn't as good as it use too be and it still hurts. Foxworth said he will leave it up to coach to sit him or not. I got this from my TL on twitter.

I know it's not fair to compare different players body and recovery rates between players...
But I'm trying to figure out, how Foxworth was injured in training camp last yr even before preseason and he still having issues... But L.Webb and F.Washington were injured in latter part of season 2 yrs ago returned for preseason and week 1.
I mean these days so many athletes bounce back quickly and his injury is lingering. He had all of last season to train and rehab ( before any lockout nonsense )
He wasn't great to begin with but now he's a shell of himself....
