Was that his fault that he had a short field to work with? He played outstanding in the first game. There is absolutely no way you can take anything from that performance and spin it negatively. He was great. SHUT UP about Flacco.

You just cant give a guy praise if he doesn't fit your "mold", can you? Flacco did not play well yeterday. That I can admit, because I watch the game with unbiased eyes, but he played GREAT against Pitt....short field or not!!

If I wasnt playin football I would take Foxy Island all day, you get tons of frequent flier miles from several different airlines airing it out.

I just get tired of the cushion we give receivers at the LOS. Especially with the Britt TD! How can you give Britt a cushion in the Redzone like Foxworth did? That's like the easiest TD of all time for a West Coast guy like Hassellbeck and a receiver like Britt! A comeback in the endzone with no pressure? C'mon man!

Foxworth is obviously injured. He should not be playing. He is normally average. But with his injury:

He has NO Burst.

He can NOT Make breaks.

He IS 4-5 yards behind the receiver on most plays.
Play that against Kenny Britt. You get what you got. There's got to be someone to play there. The Ravens tried to hide Foxwoth in coverage. Hasselbeck is not a rookie. He can see through that. I will be upset if he starts next Sunday.

In this particular game, I would say it was Pagano putting the dbs in bad positions. Even Jarret Johnson said so himself. This is his quote from the game.

“I’m sure everyone back home was expecting us to bring the same pressure we brought against Pittsburgh, but Roethlisberger is a different animal,” “He’s going to stand there and take it like a man. I’m not saying Matt isn’t (a man), but he’s a West Coast guy and he is going to throw it. You can bring seven guys (on a blitz) and he’s still going to throw it. … There’s no sense in sending seven and putting the pressure on your back end.”

I can't be too upset at any of our DBs today because they were pretty much put out to dry.
Actually, it seem like most times we were just rushing our front 4 so I don't see what Johnson is saying. Even against WC style QBs, you still have to bring the pressure every now and then!

Hey, if Foxworth keeps performing like this, what difference would it make to play the young guys? Put Grover and Brown in there.

I wonder if Oz will throw out another 5th rounder for a press corner.

A sad cornerback deserves a sad thread. He's like Frank Walker with a huge contract.

Foxworth is coming off injury first off an second Smith is injuried. Atleast if your going to complain point out valid points. Stop wanting to cry and complain over a game there was only one perfect team and it wasn't us. Its a long season with a short preseason were going to see bumps in the road every team will.

I'd say giving him free money for two years being injured(he still is injured), and playing 3 games consistently, 14 games like crap (rest missed games) while paying him +7million dollars a year is enough.

Time to cut him. HIs the 15th highest paid CB in NFL. Not acceptable.

Has there been any updates on jimmy?

Our secondary will be our downfall untill he gets back. I will throw up in my mouth if we allow mark shanchez to shred us.

We won't see Jimmy until after the bye week. At least. High ankle sprains are 4-6 weeks at least. Sometimes they linger for awhile longer

Maybe this team is poorly coached. Can someone seriously tell me why Smith was on ST's? Put Foxworth out there instead before you put our first rounder in one of the most dangerous positions in the NFL. Haven't we seen how bad our defense is lit up when we have injuries at DB/bums playing at the position? That decision and it's outcome is honestly like "wow" to me. Just stunt his growth a little further. A lot of coaches on this team should be on the hot seat, I am a huge Harbaugh fan but some of his choices and decisions aren't benefitting us I've noticed.

Just rewatched the whole game again, specifically on CBs and Webb, Cary, Foxworth, and this is just my observation

Cary Williams is not who I thought he'd be at all. He has no stamina, he gives up on covering his receiver by either exhaustion or lack of focus. Webb in the other hand looks attentive, but as soon as it is thrown toward him, he is making irratic/bad decision to blow coverage. Foxworth..im surprised his even allowed to be a veteran considering how large of a cushion he puts himself between him and the receiver, and when is thrown to him, he is nowhere even close to the receiver.

This might even be worst then Frank Walker, Fabe Washington, Foxworth trio of 09'. At least in 09' they were playing physical. In this game they played soft and lacked willpower to cover their targets for full 60minutes.

looks like we won't be seeing Foxworth for a bit or Evans for that matter. Just read an article that said they would be sitting until they are healthy. Probably a few weeks

I wasnt either. I'm starting to just think it was a impulsive move by Ozzie to find a replacement for McAlister

How can you say you don't see what Johnson is saying when he was the one actually playing in the game? We definitely went blitz-crazy on Sunday. You do have to still bring pressure against QBs no matter what, but you have to pick and choose your spots. With a QB throwing short passes, you're not going to have enough time to get there no matter how many people you blitz so you need people in coverage to eliminate those quick passes and try to get coverage sacks.

If we cut Foxworth, most of his money counts against the cap I believe similar to the Willis McGahee situation last year, so we're stuck with him. Try to find someone comparable to play for us for the veterans minimum and then we can talk.

But anyway, Monday was our complaining day, its off to focusing on St. Louis now.

First off "big boy" he played outstanding. Second, if you don't think Joe Flacco is a great young QB then you definitely don't have a good eye for talent. He's been VERY successful. He will continue to do so. Now be gone Flacco haters.
