Foxworth Is Terrible

This is why we needed Nnamdi. Get pick just now against the Falcons.
We don't NEED Nnamdi. And, we're 2 mil under the cap. How would you propose we fit him under the cap? Any ideas? Any at all?

I don't think Ozzie was intending on Jimmy and Carr getting hurt. If they didn't get hurt, today wouldn't have been as bad.

We didn't need Nnamdi last week, did we?....

We need to give younger CBs a chance to play cuz they have fresh legs. I really don't understand why we didn't put Carr or Webb on Britt. Did we think Britt is joke so they put Foxworth on him for just dumb donkey show?

Right now, we need to put Foxworth on the bottom of the active CBs list. The man just came back from ACL so don't use him when u know he'll get beat left and right.

PS: Don't use Foxworth.........

Let me reiterate something... Had we cut or traded Foxworth, our CB lineup today would have been

Webb, Williams, Gorrer, and Brown.

But we should "cut ties", "trade", and "release" him, shouldn't we?

Yeah, because I have complete faith in a 5th round rookie and a 2nd year UDFA that was lucky to make the PS.

Y'all are crazy. Foxworth sucked today, but, there's not much we can do about it at this point in time.

Get well soon Jimmy and Carr.

Carr was hurt. Didn't play today.

Foxworth wasn't playing on Britt all day. The other CBs were horrid as well, we had to put Foxy in because we gave our fresh legs a chance. And Cary Williams and Lardarius Webb blew it!!!

I take it you missed Kenny Britt's Td.

We made Matt Hasselback look like the best qb in the world. This was just an embarrassing game. We need some guys back

Britt abused every CB that covered him today, not just Foxy. Foxy didn't even cover him the entire game.

Try again?

It was obvious after last week that Britt was the dangerman, and how do we respond to him? by trying to cover him with a useless cripple? when you don't respect a baller you get balled on.
Chuuuuuuuuuch son. This was embarrassing. I told you guys the boy from Rutgers U was an issue. Apparently no one else thought so. It's a shame we got flat out embarrassed. I was incredulous when I saw Foxworth getting ate up by Britt for the TD. He is the human torch. Routinely burned even at the open practice. SMH. And Cary's leash is getting shorter and shorter.

To answer your question if we signed Haloti long term we probably could have. Oh and two days until that deadline.....

Slight possibility, but at the time, he wasn't really a need. At the time it was like a luxury. It only looks like a need now because half of our competent Corners are hurt.

I guess I took your post too literally so I see your point. Britt made our entire defense look silly. Not just one person. Foxworth may not be terrible like people are saying, but the fact is we paid him a lot of money so he has higher expectations of his play. And he just isn't living up to it.

Cary Williams is a good young cornerback. He wasn't going up against a slouch.

Hopefully Harbaugh will learn his lesson for putting his starting franchise cornerback on special teams when Jimmy does get back.
We had 3 inactive Corners today in Jimmy Smith (ankle) , Chris Carr and Chykie Brown leaving just Cary Williams, Lardarius Webb and Foxworth as the top 3 and Danny Gorrer if we needed him. Thank Goodness Webb got up from his injury or this game would of went way south a lot quicker.

I've never liked Foxworth though. Think he is overpaid, overrated when we got him and he doesn't play like a Raven. He is soft, I don't like non-physical corners.

Hassellbeck had a lot of time to throw the ball and his receivers are actually fast. Pass rush struggled making the secondary struggle and vice versa.

Agreed on that point. He needs to do better, but the truth is, we can't really upgrade him at this point.

We need ST'ers. You can't just say, oh you're a franchise CB (and we don't even know if he is yet), so you can't play ST. It don't work that way. What, Jimmy can't play ST's, but Ngata can still play offense? I know you didn't mention that, but it's the same logic.

I think the pass rush was inconsistent today for 2 reasons. First, they couldn't get into a rhythm because of the secondary, and second, I don't remember seeing a whole bunch of blitzes. Now I was at work, so I couldn't see everything, but that's what I noticed.

Well, it's not like Cary played much better today. We dont exactly have many options at the moment, other than to pray Foxy gets healthy real fast.

I know right? Why does Cary get a free pass for sucking today? As if I don't already know...

There were quite a few blitzes actually and my point with Jimmy is that the guy missed time in training camp in pre season with a Groin injury, so you would think you would limit his special teams play.

It's because we didn't pay Cary 28 million dollars over 4 years.... More money, more expectations. Thats how it is.

Doesn't matter to me who makes what ... we didn't give Clayton a free pass for sucking just because he made peanuts ... ah well, it's not like we had a choice in the matter. Here's hoping that Cary improves and Foxworth gets healthy soon

Well he was a first round pick. When a player is a high draft pick there is higher expectations. Thats just how it is. People aren't hard on Cary because he hasn't played before and there aren't any expectations for him.

I actually don't think any of the dbs played that bad, including Foxworth. The Titans just made a lot of plays. I did however think that Chuck Pagano called a horrible game. It looked like he tried to use the same gameplan for the Steelers on the Titans. You know Hasselbeck is a career WCO QB, yet you let your corners play 10 yards off when Hasselbeck is looking for the short pass 75% of the time. The reason we didn't get any sacks wasn't because of the lack of pass rush, but it was the wrong coverage schemes. You have to force a QB like him to throw to the longer developing routes and hope the pass rush get there before he can get the ball off. He doesn't have a particularly strong arm, so it gives the safeties more time to react. Personally, giving up those big plays didn't bother me as much as those screen passes because we weren't forcing MH outta his comfort zone.

Foxworth played horrible last week too. It was one of the only bad aspects of that game on our end. Let's not forget that Pittsburgh drove pretty deep inside our territory 2-3 times only to be turned back by a turnover. Everyone needs work.

I was going to point this out myself, but most of the board has already elected him into the Ring Of Honor, and I don't feel like getting into debates over the coaches.
All I can say is I was disappointed in Pagano today.

Well there's another thread about yanking Ray Lewis, and this, and Flacco is terrible too. I am thinking we should just mail it in and try to draft Luck, no?

Foxworth on Britt was just a joke. I even shook my head when NFLN played that Belichick special and it showed Foxy getting beat by Moss

i remember webb being a little off when he came back from his torn acl. foxy isn't revise but he isn't hall at all. he will be fine the longer the season goes. before his injury he was on is best play maybe from week 8 or 9. he is somebody who needs the playing time to get the job done. smith maybe can help us a lot if he is healthy. him and cary should be a good duo on the corner position with webb as the nickel. i like him there. he isn't an outside cb in the moment in my opinion. i said that last year, too: webb and also carr are two of the best nicklebacks in the league. they will show that when they don't have to fill in for other guys..

"Foxworth Is Terrible"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this. I also wonder why zibby is starting over Pollard... I've never seen zibby make a big hit or big play... ever...

Pollard can at least come off the edge like a beast or lay a huge hit on someone, so that maybe they second guess making a catch over the middle of the field again...

I don't think he did as Webb was in there on returns. At a time when we were already down 2 CBs. I just don't get that part of it.
