They have to annihilate the Rams before people regain hope. How are we supposed to make a run for the Super Bowl if we can't even stop the Titans.
the Titans are a decent team and we can't afford to sleep on ANY team in the NFL...regardless of what their record is or what the stats about them say. this was a lesson learned Ravens! lesson learned! onto the Rams now!

Titans D shut down the run early, taking away the PA pass, which is really the Ravens' strong suit. If we can't get the run going, our ability to go over the top is seriously limited. Flacco always seems to overthrow those routes unless they're PA passes.

You'd think we'd try to go over the middle more often than we do when passing. We've got Q and 2 really good young TEs to use, but we're busy with this Air Coryell "Run to set up the big pass" mentality. Mostly because that's the offense that Cam loves. But we've got the personnel to go for the mid-range passes, too. Too bad Cam always sticks to his guns, even when against a bad defensive matchup (like, say, the Titans' Cover 2 D).

As for the D, it looks like our weakness against the pass is starting to hurt us. We thrive on forcing turnovers when they try to pass, so we can't putz around without pressure, lest our mediocre secondary get picked apart. Of course, the Steelers' mediocre O-line probably made our pass rush look quite a bit better than it really was; against the Titans' solid O-line, it became apparent that the only real threat we have in our pass rush is Suggs.

I could just be overreacting to one loss so far. But note that we also lost (or almost lost) several games last season, too, and often for basically the same reasons we lost today (couldn't run, didn't adjust offense, defense couldn't get to the QB or stop big pass plays from happening).
Please lurk more. Pretty much everything you just said is 100% incorrect.

I disagree. Its just like Cam to send all of his receivers on 10 yard patterns in the Cover 2 so they're all cut off by the entire Titans defense. Should've been sending Lee (and Torrey if he's in) deep while having Dickson and Boldin cross the middle. He called the deep ball several times but Flacco either got hit or ran after the stellar play of All-Pro Guard Mark LeVoir got him wrecked.
ok everyone needs to calm down with mark levoir. was anybody expecting him to come in and play well? he was a right tackle who got cut and we stuck him in at left guard. he has only been on the team for a couple weeks. and flacco had evans deep but he overthrew him

It was also the first time in 26 games that we gave up a touchdown in the 3rd quarter of any game.
yes it was...not a good day, u know they are a proud bunch and will be out for blood next week...Suggs will get some sacks next week, their OL isnt that good....and their top WR got injured..Stephen Jackson is banged up...Bradford hurt his hand last week but should be good to go

the Ravens will bounce back, dont hang onto the loss for long...the team will look at what happened and make corrections, the team didnt play well and the coaches didnt do a good enough job of making adjustments

not attacking you personally here. but....see to me....it is statements (line of thinking...about the Titans) like this right here is what got the Ravens blasted...by the Titans! lol! the Titans are a decent team and we can't afford to sleep on ANY team in the NFL...regardless of what their record is or what the stats about them say. this was a lesson learned Ravens! lesson learned! onto the Rams now!

Exactly. This is week two. For all we know the Titans could win their division and the Ravens could go 6-10.

The Titans started 5-2 last year, gave the Colts two tough games, destroyed the Texans once, and got two of their key defensive players back today.

I don't buy that they're a great team but they're obviously decent.

No, I was expecting them to put the 5-time Pro Bowler we signed in at Guard and not LeVoir. Worst coaching mistkae of the entire game. The blame goes partly to whoever put him in (presumably Cam, is Moeller still suspended?) and partly for him for being just all around terrible.

He didn't overthrow him, he hit him once and the only other play I remember Evans hesitated. He stepped up at least 2 more times and got hit or had to move.

Cams play calling didnt look great, we didnt execute that well either...I agree sometimes u have to wonder what Cam is thinking, the two TEs should have played a bigger part..Lee Evans is obviously not 100% and as good as Boldin is he isnt going to run past many defenders, he just doesnt have that game breaking speed

its time to do work, correct the things we can and hope Jimmy Smith can get healthy and stay healthy....hope Carr returns soon too..when Webb went down I was freaking out

flacco overthrew evans on a deep ball. im not saying thats horrible cause it would have been a great pass to hit him in stride but hey this is the nfl thats what your expected to do.and maybe gurode didnt know the offense well enough. we dont know everything about that situatuion. only the people in the locker room do. i thought we should have put gurode in too but maybe there is something that we didnt know. and yea moeller was suspended for the first 2 games. back next week

As I have been saying for weeks-teams know how to beat the Ravens and that was never more apparent than today-PRESSURE FLACCO-he is terribly flawed when it comes to handling pressure. Last week was a fluke against the Steelers my guess we are seeing the real deal with our team-hold on to yourselves we have not seen the worst of it yet!

I don't know which pass you're talking about, maybe he did and I simply don't remember it. The deep route I remember Evans not catching on was because he hesitated coming out the gate, and he still almost had it.

Maybe Gurode should have been playing and someone on the team is just stupid?

That's not right. It was a perfectly thrown and weighted pass. Evans was "limp running" and actually started to pull up near the end of the route.

The Titans played a great game today and deserved reward. We played like crap, coached like crap and it was just painful to watch. Especially in the fourth quarter; Grinding down the field, no sense of urgency. 5 minute drive for a field goal. What was that? Couldn't they see the scoreboard?

Guess it's better that it happen now rather than later against a division opponent. Hopefully we don't step on our parts like that again!

you comments are not even needed. as in the last 3 previous season the Ravens look less than offensively domineering with Flacco At the Helm. I can think of dozens of pro bowl quarterbacks who played their best games under pressure. Flacco is not now nor will he ever be a pro bowl quarterback. If we looked that bad against The Tennessee Titans ( who by the way started an ancient Hasselbeck who looked like a warrior) and if we can't even give them a decent game then what kinda of team are we exactly?

Hasselbeck and Britt was the majority of our undoing today. No one was able to stick Britt well enough. Hasselbeck had time to find open receivers.

Simple reality is we got beat by a better team today.

Just a reminder to all the regulars.
Dont feed the trolls and they will go home.

Hasselbeck is far from ancient. He's a former Pro Bowler and consistently one of the most underrated QBs in the league. Hasselbeck is one of Mike Holmgren's favorite players for a reason -- and Holmgren is the same coach that molded a future Hall of Famer in Brett Favre. Take nothing away from Hasselbeck for how well he played.

As for Flacco, he can't make his receivers catch balls that hit their hands. The receivers didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Lost in last week's celebration is the fact that Anquan Boldin was the only wide receiver to catch a pass in that game.

Flacco or the play calling STILL suck against zone defense. Hard to tell which one it is.
It's the play-calling. What's Flacco supposed to do when NO-ONE IS OPEN and his receivers are showing an unfortunate propensity for dropping catachable balls? It's not Flacco's fault. And I don't even really think it's the receivers' fault for not getting open, because against other defensive styles, they do just fine. At some point, Cam's got to realize that his routes don't work against this style of defense. Period.

And who's to blame for that? Flacco?

He was bad, he's been bad before, and he'll be bad again. He's been good before, and he'll be good again.

If the entire team played well and he solely lost the game for us I'd be calling for Tyrod. But that was not the case.

I just do not think Webb is a full time cover corner. he has been lit up all day and the O'Line looks like it should have last week. It will just take time and the O'line will gel. Hopefully smith
will get healthy and keep Webb out of the corner position. The ball just did not fall our way today and we had plenty of chances.
Yeah Webb seems to play a loose zone on most plays. Giving up 7 to 10 yds of space, he looks into the backfield too often ( as if he is at the safety position ) that's why a few of those double moves worked early on. The entire secondary can't cover s comeback route....
Webb need to be the nickel back. I want to see more pollard
I've defended Foxworth but while his legs must really be mush because he had no reaction to any pass thrown his way today.

My first observation is: "How do you steam roll the Steelers and play like this?"

Absolutely outrageous! I found my self trying to divert people's attention away from this game, because I was too embarrassed to talk about it. I had no answer for opposing fans coming up and saying "How about those Ravens?" SMH!

Joe didn't do as bad as the stats portray. A lot of the receivers dropped well placed passes. Q dropped a TD pass? Dickson numerous times....Rice missed a couple passes and he didn't run that well.

It seems that our playing calling reverts back to check downs and screens when we're down...pathetic. We have the tools to be aggressive yet we didn't...we played it safe. I would have rather lost playing aggressive than losing playing scared and conservative. I was ready to support Cam, thinking he had made some changes, but he clearly has not.

Our D looked strong the entire first half...but we got wore out too early. The Titans tore us down the second half. Plus, Sizzle cannot do it all. Ray is too old. He looks awful. Slow and lethargic. But, he is the soul! Others will need to step up and play hard the remainder of the year if we want to win this superbowl.

We were out-coached. The Titans were hungry. Yet we're still relishing the victory over the Steelers, who dominated the seahawks today!

We MUST use this as a reality check. The Steelers are a tough team, but beating them doesn't not guarantee a super-bowl victory. Other teams want it, too.

I really don't want to hear one WORD about "analyst this" or "analyst that"....the analyst have every right to not have faith in this team right now. They were inconsistent last year, they're apparently inconsistent right now.

We have much work to do this week. The Rams are no joke, and the Jets are right behind them. Time to get focused.

Lol. I always found it oddly crazy how the "ravens fans" on this site are so quick to trash the team and players. Lol

Really people are saying how this loss is only the beginning, I guess it's one of those nostradomus predictions huh lol. They got a few circus catches on deep balls. Threw plenty of short routes turned into long plays. I mean I certainly didn't expect them to throw for over 300 yds.

Then why is it we have these same discussions every year regarding Flacco. I'm sorry his good days DO NOT over-shadow his bad days. I was embarrassed of my team and Flacco today. I can understand having an off day every once in a while, but Brady,Rivers,Manning et.al have bad days EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. I'm tired of hearing the excuses for Flacco-I can't even remember the last 300 yard game he had. He Has happy feet, he holds the ball to long, he can't elude pass rushers and will throw interceptions under pressure. He has an annoying tendency to throw 3 yard passes when we need 5 yards and when he said "I'm pretty damn good" I still haven't figured out exactly what he was referring to?
