My favorite was...the French infiltrated because I had overwhelmed a couple of their cities with my culture and took them over.

I had Riflemen at the time..the French came at me with archers, catapults, and musketmen.....I did a quick civilization-wide upgrade to mechanized infantry...

one minor attack plus a wave of mechanized infantry took one French city and they were begging for peace. *giggle*
