Looks Like Sergio Kindle Won't Be Active This Week

27 posts in this topic

The Tennessean reports that U.S. Bank has sued the 2nd round pick for $130,000 and will deliver a subpoena to Kindle because they allege he has failed to repay loans. He took the loans out from the bank's music and entertainment division, based in Nashville.

Uhh-oh. It looks like Sergio is in some trouble and I guess this means that he probably won't be activated for this week's game against the Titans.

He probably wasnt going to be active anyway, this really wouldnt change anything

yeah he should have paid it, but he got hurt last year and didnt sign a deal until this year and its for considerably less than he would have gotten....has he even made $130,000 yet?

Hopefully he realises nothing will be handed to him, and he's working with the trainers.

Edit: Oops, this is what happens when you dont read the post.

I like this. More motivation to want the big contract from a team!

I know this sounds bad but I don't think this is that big of a deal. I imagine he got them last year when he was expecting to sign a decent contract and still was having maturity issues. Plus do you remember how much Dez Bryant owed not too long ago?

Why would a newspaper bring this up RIGHT BEFORE we play the Titans? It seems like a smear campaign to me.

Keep it classy Tennessee...

Why would he be inactive?..
[/quote]

he was inactive last week, chances are he is inactive this week...just not enough spots for him, if he starts playing really well on special teams that could make a difference..with Paul Kruger and Pernell McPhee playing a role in the defense Kindle isnt needed as much

im sure he will get some time eventually, and i hope he does well its nice to have some guys who can rush the passer

Ya Harbaugh was saying how he would see time sooner than later so I thought that maybe he was hinting that he might give him a shot this week, but I think this kinda puts an end to that speculation.

They are trying to smear us left and right. Illegal Chop blocks. This story.

This is a non-story. Other players around the league have played through worse suits and scandals. 130k isn't too bad.

I thought this exact comment when I read the first post. It is a little suspicious that a Tennessee newspaper would address this right before the Ravens play in Tennessee. It sounds more like they're trying to get in the Ravens' heads than anything. It's a little sad, really. I had a lot higher expectations for Tennessee than that. Then again, the media are the media, no matter where they live.

Regardless, I think the Ravens are trying to ease him back into football. They seem to be taking a very slow approach with him. I believe they want to ensure he doesn't get a serious injury, especially when our opponents make claims that they will hurt us. As for why he was held from the first game, I think putting him in a violent game against the Steelers on opening day after a shortened off-season due to a lockout would have been a little much, especially when you consider that he is only a little more than a year removed from his head injury.

But back to the newspaper...I see black helicopters coming. Goodell's not in on this, is he? I sure hope he doesn't fine Sergio for getting a lawsuit against his name and bringing the NFL bad publicity.

I didn't realize how terrible the Tennessee fan base is. I went over to their message boards and all they had to say about us was how much they despised our players and how they were wishing Ray Lewis breaks his neck and Joe breaks his legs. Its a really shameful display.... After that slug fest in the 2008 playoffs I knew the team played dirty, but I had no idea that mentality precipitated down to the fans. Goodell needs to get on top of this ASAP. If he doesn't make an example of this incendiary language now it will run rampant throughout the league.

I was not worried AT ALL about this game before I saw all the threats. Now I will be holding my breath every time there is a pile up of o-linemen or our ball carriers are slow to get up after being tackled...

Those Tennessee fans have been through alot if you think about it. Chris calling them out, Vince bailing out, their head coach resigning. They probably feel as though they've lost their identity.

I know he was inactive last week but the guy gets a subpeona and we are going to assume he is going to be inactive? He moved up on the depth chart and I bet he will be out there tomorrow.

I don't know why this would make him inactive at all. It's his lack of productivity that's causing him to be inactive. If the coaches thought he was actually worth activating they'd do it.

I don't think it has as much to do with Kindle's lack of production but rather how well Mcphee and Kruger have looked lately

I dont think the Ravens will make their roster decisions based on off the field issues that really have no bearing at all on the game.

That's understandable, but it doesn't give them a free pass to be terrible people. Heck, we've had our organization stolen from us and all the heartache that brought about.... I don't see Ravens fans wishing bodily harm on the stars of the teams we play against... Sure we want to beat a team like the Steelers, but us true fans don't want to see any of them get seriously injured in the process. When its all said and done, its still a game, and its shameful that these Titans fans are so filled with malice towards other people.

He had every reason in the world to believe he'd have the means to pay back that sort of money when he took it out. And then he got signed to a much much smaller contract and presumably he couldn't pay it back in the agreed timeframe. Nothing too shocking here.

I'm glad that he is even able to get on the field this year after his serious head injury. Depth is the key to a winning season. Let him study film and learn how to rush better before we throw him to the wolves.

Remember what he did to McNair in '06? and he couldn't even go back and retire a Titan.

I think he needs to shows us how much pressure he can do?
Is he and Paul Krugar the future of our pass rush or not?

Not if they keep holding Pauley almost everydown
