That was actually a good segment to watch. They seriously was trying hard to gameplan for Reed.

On a side note, that Clayton drop pissed me off again.

I watched that last night too, its interesting to see behind the scenes stuff like that...they really respect Reed thats for sure...they filmed that in 2009..wasnt that when they beat us in the regular season and in the playoffs we destroyed them like we just beat the Steelers

...too bad they didnt show that film haha

The Pats/Ravens playoff game is supposed to be in the second part. I'm looking forward to that.

In my opinion, the only coach better than Belichick is Lombardi. Belichick is the GM, the HC, the offensive play caller, and the defensive play caller. And, he does it all well. He was great before and after spygate, so that can't be used as a knock. Belichick IS a great drafter. He drafted Brady in the 6th. Genius right? In case that's not enough, lemme name some more names. Logan Mankins. Brandon Merriweather. Richard Seymour. Ty Warren. Vince Wilfork. Jared Mayo. Devin McCourty. Btw, bolded names are players in the top 100. Welker wasn't drafted by him, but its safe to say Belichick is a part of his success. They have 7 players in the Top 100 of 2011. As much as that was a popularity contest, it's STILL impressive. I don't even think I need to mention the rings and the winning record. I don't think you can criticize anything about Belichick.

Back on topic, it's good to hear BB knows who the best FS is, but who doesn't know that it's Ed?

I really think too much is made out of Belichek getting Brady in the 6th. I'm not calling anyone specifically out on it, 'cause everyone does it, but if he REALLY saw something in him, do you think he'd have let him drop so far?

It was luck, not genius.

I watched the first part of "A Football Life" on NFLN on Bill Belichick (it's him wired throughout the '09 season, and they spent quite a bit of time showing them planning for the Ravens), and it's amazing how he and Tom Brady spent a good hour or so gameplanning for Ed Reed as if he was the only person on the team. Both Brady and Belichick then go on about how Ed is exceptional at everything, and that you always have to know where he is.

Before the game, Belichick was talking to Ed and was gushing over him like a 15 year-old girl at a Justin Bieber concert, ending the conversation by saying "You're the best free safety to ever play this game."

There it is, from a guy who may go down as the greatest coach of all time. I just thought it was cool to see. And it's an interesting special in general, I'd catch it if you haven't already.

On a related note, Belichick is not a huge fan of Derrick Mason.
LMAO @ the Mason remark. I greatly admire Belicheck as an aspiring coach. I'm kicking myself for missing the episode since I watched the lead up to it and was greatly interested. But Bill speaks the truth. Ed Reed is the greatest and I don't care who you put out there I'm taking Ed Reed over them period.

Absolutely.....its always a mixture of the two but I think way more luck was involved. Plus teams are way more inclined to take risks on late round picks.
