Would Post the Dave Chappelle Cribs Parody but can't find the censored version. It reminds me of all those athletes that are poor because they waste their money on "ballin'". Sucks it happened to Chris, he is one of my top 5 ravens of all time but he did it to himself. Hopefully he will find a job somewhere.
"I don't really [mess] with Africa, cause people are starving to death and that's not baller to me."

Yeah, I can see CMAC saying that (especially his last year or so in Balt)...

Maybe some of these guys should look at Flacco. Isn't he still driving an old pick up truck? I remember reading that he has been investing a lot of his salary. C-Mac - the anti-Flacco.

Well, look at Joe. He's not your flashy, wasteful kinda guy. He's intelligent; whereas CMac clearly made some BIG mistakes in his life/career.

I hope he's just saying that to get the 11k a month stopped. That is seriously ridiculous. What is she raising a solid gold kid?

ouch! that sucks

and then I get questioned for feeling bad for the guy who got cut for failing to tackle Wes Welker.
I just caught the part about the 11k a month. That's insane. That's 132k a year. I can't see how that is justified on any level. The average household income is like 41k.

I wish I could be a baby mama for somebody.
This minus the baby mama, I'd never want to be a woman. How can the person sleep at night knowing that this would happen after ten or so years? I want to see players contracts AFTER taxes, not before. If the NFL is going to tell the world, they should atleast tell the fans the truth. That guy should go to court since they were the one's who knew this would happen. Imagine if he had three children with the women!!!

This story reminds me of one of the episodes I watched from 'My Sweet 16" where the guys(yes, a spoiled guy on that show) dad said "Son, I got you something better than a car. Here's Kayne West!!!!!".

At least he'll know the kid will amount to something... (terrible)

Btw. Just in from Aaron Wilson (since Jamison is now dead to me):
For those asking about Chris McAlister, I seriously doubt he's actually broke despite whatever he said in court documents. [s]#[/s]Grain of salt.
Do we know that the 11k hes paying is for one child only? or is he paying support on more than one child. if its just one then 11k is ridiculous, but if hes fathered several kids then it might not be that off the wall.

Two Things:

1.) Its easy to question how someone could spend all of that money if personally you've never had that much money before.

2.) Depending on where you live, 11k a month isn't all that much. Go down that BW Parkway to areas like Chevy Chase and Potomac and that's not even enough money to pay your bills. Nannies get paid nearly six figures in those areas. I live in DC now and people pay an average of 30K a year just on daycare here and these are just regular folks, not former millionaires. Dude is lucky 11k is all and he doesn't have to pay alimony.

Actually, one more thing: There is a child involved, who will now know that her father didn't want her and left his family because of that. And its all over the internet. So don't feel sorry for Chris.

Too bad to hear, he was one of my favourite players of the 2000s, the guy had it all one of the elite CBs in the NFL for an 8 year stretch.

I think people tend to forget how young and inexperienced these guys are when they starting raking in the big bucks. I seriously wonder how many of us would have the discipline to save for the future at 22 (or even at 28). It's easy to think we would be smarter with our money, but I doubt that many of us would be at that age (and no one ever claimed that football players are the smartest people on the planet).

This is really just a sad, sad, situation and one way or another, the child is likely to suffer for it.
You could be right. I don't take their age into account very often because when I was only about 7 years old I was obsessed with saving nearly every penny I ever got. When I was older, I saved the money I got for my high school graduation. I'm not trying to sound callous but it's not really that difficult to spend say 2 mill of the 4 million that a person might get in a signing bonus.

The only person who should be nervous about this news (which looks to be a bad TMZ rumor) is Antonio Cromartie.

I think this has more to do with him wanting to reduce his child support payment or to avoid it and less to do with him living with his parents or how broke he is.... this is just posturing to avoid his responsibilities as a father... sad!

Yeah I seriously doubt it. Lol, he was trying to get the child support he has to pay to get cut some. He made millions so he has to give more on that check to his kid. He hasnt played for awhile, probably looked at his finances and thought it wasnt fair to pay whatever amount he is paying when hes not working.

He needed 500,000 up front from the Jets last year to pay off child support. I'm sure you've heard about it.

You're welcome. We strive for accuracy. It's a darn shame that once a rumor starts, people will keep repeating it even after it's been shot down. He told Aaron Wilson that he isn't broke and just bought a new condo.

Well he's not exactly a brand. Chris has been a ghost for 2 years now, he's harder to spot than Bigfoot, and Torrey Smith.

They may make loads more money than the average individual, but their mindset isn't any different. Look at how many people earning 55k a year live outside their means. They buy cars they can barely afford, mortgages they can't afford, etc...

These athletes make way more money, but they spend more at the same time. If you don't manage that correctly, an $11,000 a month bill becomes pretty steep. And that's just one bill.

Lets say hypothetically this story is true and he's broke, what's wrong with his child having a good life and insuring that he/she can potentially make something of themselves, instead of giving more money to Chris McAlister to blow on his self destructive life style?

I don't really believe TMZ anyways, but I figured I'd ask that considering a lot of people seemed more surprised about the amount he had to pay in child support rather than the fact he blew $17.5M + his base salary.
Keep in mind that 11k per month for 12 months = 132k say over 10 years thats only 1.32m, she wasn't the main reason he went broke!
