Excellent Analysis Of Key Plays In Week 1

14 posts in this topic

This actually came from the Steeler's website but I've never seen a better analysis. I especially like the analysis of the first play of the game where Rice had the big run. He expertly explains the difference between our old man blocking scheme to the new zone blocking scheme and how it caught the Steelers off guard.

I like how as he explains the zone blocking scheme, he throws in "that's a chop block" on the explanation of Ray Rice's run.

I remember thinking "isn't that a chop block?" when I originally saw the highlights but nobody ever mentioned it until I saw this video. Its a good thing the refs never saw it. It makes up for the bad holding call on McKinnie that nullified that great pass to Dickson down the seam.

That was really good stuff, and interesting. Just highlighted for me how a split second here or there makes the difference between success and failure in this league. I can see how its tough for college kids to adjust to the speed of the NFL game.

I actually loved the angle, view, and description of the Ward decimation. It was more beautiful than ever. :)

I think their analysis is better because it seems like it is made for the website whereas all the Ravens shows are made for tv and have to account for commercials and time limits. It may just be me but it seemed like if the score was reversed their guys would have just kept going on.

Just watched the video. Really interesting.

It never ceases to amaze how much timing goes into a successful play. Rice's TD is a perfect example. Just as he was separating from Timmons, Joe was stepping and about to fire the ball to him.

Also, knowing that Ward was an option when he got demolished makes that play even better.

Vonta Leach not Davis...........fail.........

True, but he is a Steeler's analyst. It would be a lot different if Quadry Ismail or JO had done it.

" Hines Ward is getting light up by Jarret Johnson"

"Ed Reed's interception is just like stealing candy from a baby"

These analysts are actually showing lots of respect for the Ravens. I like it.....
