Getting his weight in order was a big thing for him. The fact that he was able to do it clearly shows his commitment to getting better. Kudos to him for sure.

Hopefully it stays right here, it does not need to go any lower him and Ngata within 2 pounds of each other, now if only Cody could become what Ngata is this defense would go from great to insane

Cody didn't seem to stand out much this week. Was he picking up a couple blockers to open up lanes for other guys like Suggs and Ngata to get to the QB or did he just play fairly average?

That's all he's supposed to did....eat up 2-3 players per snap. He did that very well on Sunday!

You know what I think he did okay, he'll get better as he gets more experience

Anyone else notice ever since Cody landed on Charles last year in the playoffs he hasnt been the same RB? He never came back into the game, all preseason he has looked bad, then on Sunday he cant get anything going and the Chiefs looked horrible because at least last year they could count on their run game, I mean the guy averaged like 6 yards a carry or whatever...but Mount Cody landed on top of him and he's never looked the same

He still averaged 5.6 yards a carry this week. They just didn't feed him the ball.

I heard that he has a personal trainer and dietary coach. Not to mention, the incentive of being the starting NT on the "soon to be" World Champion Ravens.

Lemme ask you this.

Did they have a running game?

No. Therefore, he did his job. Lol

It's amazing how small he looks compared to his 400lb college days, back then he could play straight legged and you couldn't move him. Now he's learned to play low and is looking better for it, balance is still a problem though.

A great thing for us and Cody is that Cody has dominated Pouncey in their college days and has gotten the better of him more than a few times in the last couple of years. When Ngata blew up Mendenhall, Cody was stiff arming Pouncey with one arm and holding him in place at the LOS.

Yearh I saw that as well - very nice! The only thing that 'bothered' me with it was that he wasn't "moving", but just standing still. Maybe as the season moves he could get some penetration into the backfield aswell - that would be awesome! Still impressed by the stiff arm and the weight loss thou!

I saw that, he dominated him. I think Cody is the player as advertised. A gigantic man who can't be moved.

Actually he was in perfect position, IMO. He had completely negated Pouncey off to his left with 1 arm , was filling the lane, and was in perfect position to break away from Pouncey and tackle Mendenhall if he had tried to cut to his left. It looked like a dominating play. Check the replay in the "Hardest Hit" thread.

I'm excited that Cody has the ultimate example in Ngata to learn from and model himself after. You can see Cody has huge heart and desire, and now he has serious professional coaching. His ceiling looks very high, like a lot of our guys.

Ya but we could have had Ray Rice lineup at NT last game and still stop the run. With Suggs, Ngata, McClain, Ray, JJ, Redding and the weak steelers O-line, notta chance.

Or not.....

The Steelers, despite having a porous OL, are actually a good run blocking team. Their OL's issues is not with run blocking, it's more with pass pro. Not to mention, their best player is their center. The nose lines up over the center.

But he could just run through Pouncey's legs and then he would body slam Ben like he did Polumalu. I can't be the only one who thinks this would work.
