Flacco Won't Be Respected Until He Does It W/o Rice

It's absurd that it's semi-true, I actually agree with OP here. While the double standard is ridiculous (Warner/Faulk, Ben/Steelers D) people that dont follow the team closely often think of Flacco as a choke artist game manager. It's wrong but the media has given him that moniker, and it's a shame. But a few more games like he had against Pitt and that reputation will fade quickly.

The title of this thread offends me. Did Jerry Rice make Joe Montana? Did Randy Moss make Tom Brady?
This is a team game, and it takes a team effort to consistently win, to get to the playoffs, and to reach a Super Bowl. Because Joe Flacco throws to a running back as a culmination of his progressions, has a lot to do with the game plan. Last Sunday Cam Cameron game-planned by using TE's and RB's more in the passing game against the Squeelers.

Flacco is fine. He is still building chemistry with most of the wide receiving corps. (He used Boldin fine.) Remember, gang, this is a team game, and it matters more that a running attack and a passing game set up one another offensively for success.

...Really, the only QB who used his running back a whole ton was Jim Kelly; he threw plenty to Thurman Thomas and both of them made the Hall of Fame.

Great point guys. And I think teams have gameplanned to take away Ray Rice completely before. How did that work out? Imagine if a team shadowed Ray Rice with a good cornerback all the time and the Ravens couldn't get the ground game running.

Could Flacco throw the ball 50 times a game and lead drives down the field all alone? That question is part of why I'm so glad we went out and got Evans/Smith/Doss. We can actually line up in a 5 WR set (Evans/Reed/Doss/Boldin/Smith) and really attack teams vertically. But boy did those 2 TEs work out for us, huh?

I believe Flacco could absolutely throw for 50 times and lead this team to victory because he now has an offensive line to protect him. Flacco was forced to check it down all the time the past 3 years because the checkdown route is the only route that can develop in 2 seconds. Now that flacco has a legitimate offensive line, we saw what he did. A "checkdown captain" doesn't throw a perfect strike to Boldin for a touchdown, or a 34 yard dart to Dickson (even though it was negated with a bad holding call). I really believe we will see flacco shine, and honestly who the hell cares what the media thinks they can keep talking about their poster child matt ryan all they want. The falcons got a deep threat in julio jones to play with a quarterback who cannot throw the deep ball.

Not many people talk about that play since it was called back on a BAD holding call. But that throw was as perfect as it comes. Into a tight window while Dickson was running. Dickson was surrounded closely by three defenders. It was a beautiful throw and catch.

who cares...it's a team sport and if ray rice is a key factor in getting a team superbowl than who cares if they respect flacco. I respect flacco and when he gets us that lombardi they can respect that

Everybody knows this is a QB league and without a quality QB it really doesnt matter who the RB is, if you stop the run the team is finished if they cant make plays in the passing game

Joe has his supporters and he has haters...always will, even if he wins the SB there will be excuses from a certain part of the fan base/NFL fan base
