I sure hope so. But its one of the best defenses vs one of the best RBs. And I cant think of one person on our team who could catch Johnson if hes in front of us
a lot of running backs are fast and if they get past everyone on our team then they are gone for the td. The whole point is keeping them from getting past everyone. Last season we were slower on "D" and we kept Jamal Charles in Check besides one long play and he is just about as fast as C.J. He doesn't bother me our "D" is too smart

i would say we are fine a CB but could use help..we are down to a

1. Cary Williams - recently budding to stardom but still has much to prove (consistency)

2. Ladarious Webb - Just getting back to 100%. I am a Webb fan but he has shown he can be a liability at times. i look for him to be more consistant this season

3. A Gimpy Dominic Foxworth - he never really impressed me nor is he healthy.

4. Chris Carr - injured and who knows for how long

5. Jimmy Smith - Talented Promising and impressive but still a rookie and out for a little while

6. Chykie Brown - A rookie who has much to prove but hasn't proven it yet

we also have Danny Gorrer on the practice squad

I want Pollard to start this week... he just brings something to the table that Zibby doesn't. He can intimidate people, and they will know he's back there ready to wallop anyone who crosses the middle of the field.
I think Pollard starts when they're in the red zone or in certain situations or series where Pagano wants to bring more pressure from different areas like the safety spot. I'm pretty sure Pollard might start in run stopping situations too, but LOL Pittsburgh was playing from behind all game last Sunday so we'll never know!

hahahaha. Damn it feels good to be a Raven.

As for others talking about Kenny Britt, as long as the 11 defenders didn't just lie down then there's no reason not to count Britt's 80 yard reception. I hate when people talk about a player and say, "well take away this one big play and he only did such and such." That one big play is what makes him so dangerous, that knock out punch. So, Kenny Britt isn't just fast. Speed is not my concern. I know Foxworth is one of the fastest corners and so is Webb. My concern is physicality and I think if Cary Williams is 100% we won't have a concern there.

But this Jimmy Smith business is just really unfortunate, obviously. I'd give him my ankle to loan so he can have a full rookie season. I'd hate to see him miss 8 games. Still, this is a really weak schedule this year so this is the year to do it.

I'm worried with Cary Williams coming up on his hamstring and Jimmy Smith being out for a few weeks that Kenny Britt can outphysical Chris Carr, Lardarius Webb and Dominique Foxworth. If Cary Williams isn't back for this game, it might not be the shutout we're all hoping for.
Cary Williams is fine, Jimmy and Carr have injuries...Carr has his hamstring acting up again..Williams was only out for a series or so with cramping but he's fine...as long as him, Webb, Foxworth stay healthy..we should be fine, Haruki plays good coverage as well and has been used as a CB in some cases
. I just hope Cam doesnt go back to his old ways and as soon as we get a lead , all we do is try and run the clock out. being so much more phy. , never knew he could be a hard hitter. It amazed me against Pitt.
I think that's Harbaugh's influence on the offense. I think he's the aggressive guy saying go for it on 4th and keep pressing and scoring and scoring and scoring to Cam. Cameron's more the methodical tactician, the chess player, the gamer, the technician. And it's a good thing too, because if we look at two of our losses last year (New England, Steelers) they were games we had in hand and dominating, but the respective teams came back when we stopped being so Ravenous and started running out the clock instead. And if you look at comebacks that we almost gave up you can say the same for the Texans, Saints and Bills game. Those were games where we dominated and had Cameron's philosophy kept true we would have lost.

So I'm glad Harbaugh is putting his thoughts in. He said he's the guy who decided to go for it on 4th. Harbaugh may not show it, but he's crazy.

and yeah, I guess it's next man up so Chykie Brown can get activated, get more reps and an injury to Jimmy Smith means an opportunity for Chykie. Or maybe against a running team that doesn't have a spread offense iike Tennessee it means Sergio gets activated and we see him in game. Still, more practice reps for Chykie. Just the reality probably is some inactive d-lineman will likely get activated. Some nose tackle or something.

I hope it's Kindle.

We got lucky that he got injured. He was kinda messing us up. 9 carrys for 82 yards and a TD. AVG 9. But thats in the past and we got a totally better defense so we'll just have to see.

Does anyone feel we still need to bring in help at the CB position?
CB may possibly be the only position where you truly cant have too much depth, Ravens fans should know this better than anyone after what happened to our secondary last year (you know its bad when have to bring in 50 year old Walt Harris) and in 09 when McCalister got hurt week one, and Samari was diagnosed with epilepsy, now Foxworth is still recovering, and playing at a pretty pedestrian level, not that he was ever good to begin with. Jimmy Smith being injured and out for a "few" weeks, and Chris Carr injuring his leg; i would not at all be opposed to bringing in one more guy for depth if there is still any cap space available.

We are one ACL tear away from what could be a really bad situation if Carr's injury is worse than we think.

Anyone walking the streets at this time probably isn't much of an upgrade over what the team already has.
Haha yeah, considering that Frank Walker just got picked up I would say we are pretty much set with what we have now. Chykie Brown will probably be active this week if we need some CB depth. He may be inexperienced, but he is still a very fast guy with great size and speed. It's not like Tennessee is deep at WR anyway.

Cary Williams eventually came back into the Steelers game after his injury. I can only assume, based on that, that the injury was minor and shouldn't be something that will keep him out of the game on Sunday. Even if he was out of the game, Britt isn't that great of a receiver, he's just a good receiver. I think the damage he could do against our defense is minimal even without Cary or Jimmy. The Titans aren't a team in a position to threaten us, and they just lost to Jacksonville, who started the terrible Luke McCown at quarterback.

I think you overestimate their chances.
Any given Sunday and any team is in position to threaten another team week to week so while I understand where you are coming from saying that, nothing is given. I'm just glad the players don't think like the fans do b/c its truly any given Sunday.

The depth at corner is concerning... but NOT for this game. I really don't see the Titans scoring any touchdowns on the Ravens defense. I mean, Britt is not faster than any of Pittsburgh's receivers(except Hines Ward perhaps). And we kept them in check... most of Wallace's yards came after Ravens were up big and just trying to prevent him from getting deep.

The key to this game will be PENALTIES. Don't fall for Titans typical baiting. Especially Cortlant Finnigan. However... once the offense has torched Titans defense for a few scores and the lead is comfortable... I wouldn't mind Boldin laying Finnigan out cold. On a clean block of course!
Just b/c we held Pitts down who seems way more talented on O than the Titans doesn't nescassarily mean we will hold the Titans O down too. Boy, you guys, lol! No game is to be taken lightly and I'm glad we have Ray and Ed on the team to reinforce that.

Just as long as the defensive line keeps pressure on Hasselbach, then the Ravens will blow Tennessee away by at least 3 TDs. I see that this team is just starting to gel and will peak on the Jets. We should be undefeated going into the next Steelers game.

Williams, Webb, and Brown can go full-go. Foxworth is trying to gel coming off his knee injury. I think we will be O.K. for now with Haruki thrown into the coverage mix. ...Smith is out & Carr re-injured his hamstring Sunday.

I really would have preferred to have Wilson over Carr, but now that the season has started I see that depth is more important to our Super Bowl run.

Nothing Shy of Amazing??????? Hope is washed up, and Finnegan is too small to cover Anquan, and behind him is virtually no one Altraun Verner???

A Balanced Offense is a successful one spread the ball around and utilize match-ups and we will have another big day.

The only one I find well above average is Griffin, Finnegan in my opinion is all hype, they say he plays physical, well so what??? So do we and if memory serves we just went toe to toe with the other team in the league that is regarded as tough as nails and put a hurtin on them with physicality so all I have to say to the loud-mouthed, static-haired, hunk of whale crap known as Cortland Finnegan is bring your a game son cuz your going to need it to get through this game.

The Titans were renowned for their secondary at the same time they were renowned for the inspired play of Albert Haynesworth. They're not even as good as Pitt's secondary now, putting them in the range of thoroughly average. We've all heard the phrase any given Sunday, but it's not for this team, not this Sunday. Tennessee's only chance is a crazy game by Chris Johnson, which can't happen if you're passing game can't get going, and I like our chances against Hasselbeck.

I should say that Hasselbeck still throws a pretty mean deep ball, and that going to a big, fast WR like Kenny Britt is somewhat worrisome. However, the Titans O-line does not have the talent for that kind of time.

This man is speaking the truth right here. Any given Sunday. The parity in this league is so great.

The Titans secondary statistically grades out at the bottom half of the league. Chris Hope isn't as good as he used to be, Michael Griffin is horrible in coverage and extremely overrated from a high interception season (so is Hope), and Finnigan is probably the best member of the secondary. He's a good cornerback, and is the most hated cornerback. But he's nothing Anquan can't handle.

Anquan probably will love getting phyiscal with Cortland.

In reality he can only shut 1 man down... The Steelers did this with Evans, guess what we have 10 other guys who can win the game for us. I would like to see us put the ball in Mckinnie's hand watch him truck it to the end zone...
Bryant McKinnie and Michael Oher are nothing shy of Amazing....

I don't mind those ridiculous sized cushions that Cary gives big play recievers as long as he keeps them from scoring, I'm confident our front can play the law of averages if they march us downfield.

they are amazing!!!! finnegan is maybe the most strong and aggressive corner in the league. remember how he faught andre last year. this guy is a stud!! hope can still hit and is a very good zone cover safety!!
i don´t wanna talk too much into this but not respecting your opponent is only steelers-like. nothing to be proud of!!

where all the people at that were saying we should trade foxworth, yea you dont look to smart now do ya
Here is one of them. And actually, now I am even more certain we should have dumped Foxworth early in FA and picked up another CB. Did you see him on Sunday? He was nowhere out there. If we have to rely on Foxworth for any length of time, we will be doomed. I did just notice you said "trade" though. By then it was too late when the trade rumors surfaced. He should have gone when Heap and Mason did though.

Finnegan didn't fight Andre last year, he got swung around like a doll and hit hard around the back of his head by a guy who was much bigger and stronger than him. He's a dirty player and I certainly don't have any respect for him for starting that. He is a good corner but it doesn't change the fact that everything about that "fight" was classless about him.

He fought Andre huh .....Looked to me like he got merc'd. That being said he is nowhere near the strongest corner in the NFL. Hell to rookies are stronger than him and Jimmy is one of them. Then going around the league he does not even break top 10 probably top 15 at his position.

Everytime I saw Foxworth he was being blown up in coverage. That said, I still think he will get healthy be some quality depth for us.
