Joe Said Take Advantage Of Polamalu

61 posts in this topic

Dickson - "Joe said take advantage of Polamalu if you see him cheating again"

Watching 1 winning drive, and they had Dickson on there saying how Joe told him that Polamalu was cheating up on a particular look and if they see it again just take the route deep instead of breaking it off short.

On the TD Dickson caught that is exactly what he did, took the route deep and used Polamalu's over aggressiveness against him....what pretty much every team is doing now when they play him. Boom TD with long locks of hair sprawled out on the endzone turf wondering what just happened.

Sounds familiar.

Exposed. Again.

Our little Joey is growing up right before our eyes.

Still, the haters haven't emerged from the woods where they've been hiding since Sunday. Where are all the Flacco haters? Idiots!!

Hodge called him overrated on Monday on ESPN. I just laughed, as did Tim Hasslebeck.

I just cannot believe he called Joe overrated...if anything he is underrated. He has gotten so much criticism and then he put on a show. 3 TD's (accurate passes) as well as 0 int's...how you can say he is overrated is beyond me.

Joe shut them up for the week by throwing 3 (really 4) TDs against the Steelers. We destroyed one of the best defenses in the league with only a small window in which all of the offense practiced together. Once the offense gets more in sync, it could be quite scary. All I know is Joe's completion percentage should have been higher, there were quite a few passes that should have been caught.

Really, I think Joe's biggest test for the haters is going to be our first Bengals game. For whatever reason, Joe's has had a few down games during those weeks. If he gets through that and finally figured out their coverage schemed, I think it will be safe for everyone to say he's arrived. I'm with the group that's been saying he's already arrived, and I've been there for a long time.

Great point. Joe always seems to struggle against their D. Will definitely be a great test.

they're defense looked pretty good with dunlap rushing the passer and mauluaga looks like hes getting used to the speed but they did play the browns and i think he was rushing against cousins soo

NFL Live I believe. It was before the MNF games. He said it under his breath and Hasslebeck just laughed and said Hodge was completely wrong.

It's not the pass rush I'm worried about, if the OL can handle the Steelers rush they can definitely handle the Bengals. I think that whatever zone scheme they run as their base is what has thrown Flacco off in the past. I don't see it being as effective this year with the loss of Joseph, but still it's a coverage Joe still hasn't shown a mastery of defeating.

It's not that Flacco's critics were idiots. Rather, they were just being overly-cautious in their praise.

Let's face it: we've never had a good QB in Baltimore, so therefore, the majority of long-time Ravens fans wouldn't know the patience required in developing a QB. Not the fans' fault at all. Well, in most cases, anyway. :P

Yea, I saw this too! It's also a big step in the right direction regarding chemistry between a QB and his WR's.

BTW, Troy Smiff is in the UFL. He's in ELITE company 1 of 4 potential Starting QB's in the league.... :P

They are busy changing their usernames so they can show their faces again lol

Joe really impressed me Sunday. He went through his progressions quickly and found the open man. He stood solid in the pocket, poised and never rattled. He got rid of the ball before he was taken down on the one play that very well could have been a sack. I feel very good about this season, especially when one looks at our schedule.

Proof that he's growing both as a player and a leader. Well done Joe, keep it up!
Getting rid of Mason was the best decision Ozzie made. The other playmakers on offense certainly helped but getting rid of Mason who would throw a temper tantrum if he didn't get the ball enough has really allowed Joe to assume the role of leader in this offense.

Really? What a bunch of tools. He takes more criticism than any quarterback despite improving year after year and he's overrated? That's a troll statement at its finest.

IF this is true, and Joe is really the one who noticed this and actually said that, then that's awesome. A HUGE step for him. He played really great Sunday, and most importantly... didn't turn the ball over. I've said it in other threads and I'll say it here... if he, and the team, play like that all season... he'll have finally "cemented" himself as an upper-echelon QB. And yeah, I'll finally go WACCO FOR FLACCO! (if y'all will allow me to jump on the bandwagon that late)

I see this season being one that we'll talk about for years to come...Beating the steelers was the first thing we needed to do and now we just play each game one game at a time and watch as our ravens pile on the wins and get us our first home playoff game in five years

It certainly won't hinder the team like most of the talking heads around the league believed it would. Despite not catching a ball, I'm confident in saying that Evans' impact on the offense on Sunday was bigger than the impact that Mason would have managed.

A little more room might be available on the Troy sMYTH bandwagon. You can hitch a ride on the Flacco Wagon but only on the roof, FOR NOW! : ?

I dunno.... if you're not supporting him now, why should you be allowed to jump on board once he's "cemented himself" in your eyes when he's already more than proven himself as a great QB in this league to the majority of the football world? People forget that he came out of Delaware for goodness sake and may be a year or so behind a QB that played in the SEC, Big 12, etc.!! This is the year when I really expected him to take off and play at a Pro Bowl level. Week 1 is only the beginning.

I loved Flacco from day one and I'm glad we are finally getting him the weapons and building our offense around him so he can show everybody that he is elite!!!!
