Thats the best I can do. I got it off yahoosports.com under the recent injuries section. I can't believe the NFL allows teams to do this. The Ravens are just sticking him there to avoid putting him through waivers. I can't imagine he is really hurt. Was he even active in week 1?

Wasn't active Week 1 and, yes, they might've fudged it so that no one else could claim him. They did it to make room for Reed after he served his suspension.

I thought so. I'm certainly not complaining but it just seems like something the union wouldn't allow. Instead of allowing McAdoo a chance to be on the 53 man roster for another team he is relegated to IR for no clear reason.

The Ravens do not want this guy to get picked up. Looks like he'll have an offseason to put on weight and probably make the rotation next year.

Can a team IR a player with potential just to keep him from hitting waivers?

I think Harbaugh took a hammer to his knees just to make it legitimate.

Why put him on IR if the coaching staff is high on him? Cut someone like Jason Phillips and let McAdoo get some PT in sure win games.

He's not ready, they want every man on that roster ready to help the team. McAdoo is a project who hasn't played in a good while.

Someone should ask Harbs in his next presser how bad the injury is, and see if he can keep a straight face during his answer. :D

Ha, I see I'm not the only one thinking this. I just hope that the NFL isn't going to investigate this.

I've wondered the same

The fans read about it so the league and union must know too
I don't know how it works but it's seems to be done with a nod and a wink.

They probably document any injury sustained at all by a player in training camps, preseason games, & the regular season games to substantiate their claim of injury. McAdoo must be in on the deal because otherwise his agent will be having a fit & we would've heard about it by now.

If the NFLPA investigated it, they won't get far if the Ravens have the necessary documentation & McAdoo & his agent confirm the diagnosis. I wouldn't be too worried. The Ravens are a pretty smart team & I am sure they prepared for this.

Personally, I am happy we did this. I didn't want to see him get picked up elsewhere like Prince did last year.

McAdoo will make the Rookie minimum ($320,000) this year as opposed to being on the Practice Squad ( Where he would have to clear waivers)

Im fine with it not sure how it all works but they probally sat him down and told him the plan and he agreed i cant see him not arguing the decision if he didnt like it. It gives him the whole year to be in the facility all the time i believe he can sit in on meetings as well (not sure) possibly this was the best choice than practice squad he would have been signed somewhere else.

Similar to what H8R said, think its a win win for both parties. The ravens get told hold on to the play and the player is guaranteed his a rookie minimum contract instead of only a PS which he can be released from. The ravens have fudged the IR before IMO so they can hold on to someone who is not really hurt, or not hurt bad such as Ramon Harewood. They dont want to lose the player to waivers or cut him but they can't afford to keep him on the 53 so they IR him.

I still don't understand why the FO is so high on him. He doesn't really look like anything special, at least from what I could see (which is not a lot). And it definitely didn't look like he was deserving of being on the final 53.

I dunno. I'll be happy to eat my words if he becomes a monster or something, but for now I'm gonna stay a little ticked off that they didn't keep Josh Bynes instead.

He's not on the PS, PuRock! You promised!

I'm sure they talked to him about it...plus a guaranteed check versus the possiblity of not being on a team period?? Easy call. Remember he was unwanted in the supplemental draft so the Ravens have all the leverage really.
