I never read NFLN's Rankings, so what is your point?

In the power rankings they are rated as the second best team in the league, over us in most of them. Who is smoking what ???

We play the steeler's the AFC representative in the superbowl (ya know the game the Patriots could not get to) and we stomp a mud hole in them and walk it dry. & turnovers on D none on offense, and we physically manhandle the dreaded physicality of the steeler's with what looked like ease and some tie wearing, pencil-necked moron dares put them over us, what kind of travesty is this.

The play the freakin Dolphins win by 2 touchdowns and let CHAD HENNE throw for 400 yards and yet they are mystically awesome, when they have no one the caliber of Mike Wallace, Mendenhall, Sanders, or really anybody on the D that can compete with pittsburgh on the D other that Wilfork.

I like being the uder dog but I absolutely despise the patriots because they always get the chops for things that they have not earned yet, I can't wait until they run into a gut check and just get blasted.

It was a joke in that I was playing around assuming you just copied their exact ranking and credited it as yours.

Tom looked great against that staunch (chokes back a laugh) Miami D
And Henne looked like the best QB drafted in 2008 against their D. We'll see what they do in the next few weeks before I crown them the dominant force they think they are.

All I got to say is Tom Brady.

And really that is the only thing impressive about their team, even though I cant stand him either

Didn't know where to put this and certainly wasn't going to start a new thread just for this, but I cannot stand that the measuring stick for the top ranked D is yards given up, as opposed to points. Its SO dumb! Okay, that's all I wanted to say!

if you throw 517 yards your going to be near the top of many power rankings.. its going to be hard for many defenses to stop that offense, especially with brady showing 07 form, be it in one game, with that TE combo many defenses will struggle to find someone to cover the two of them, and brady will pick you apart given any opportunity. If you play that well on offense youll always have a chance to outscore the other team.. and of course if makes for good viewing, which some people may not delibertaly factor into their placing but they probably do..

I see you didnt complain about the packers? arent they in the same sort of situation, a d that leaked yardage but outsccored the opposition.. i dont like the patriots like many here dont, but if their offense can throw like that most games, they deserve to be up there, but i also see your point... The league is changing, i just hope the ravens can match up to these high flying offenses cause we may have to beat the two best to win the superbowl, id be more worried about how we can match up against these two TEs NE have, or the 4/5 reciever sets green bay will throw at us than a ranking so called "experts" give...

I can see where your frustration, if that's what you want to call it, comes from. They played a lesser team than we did and to add to that we match up probably the best against the Pats, over other AFC teams at least. However, they were ranked higher than us before week one and did what people expected so they stay higher than us. Plus, Brady had a record setting night. I'd be more frustrated if the Jets were ahead of us.

Seriously??? There is a world of difference between the saints and the dolphins, and especially between Drew Brees and chad henne that whole paragraph is irrelevant due to competition which I mentioned in the post, I actually though I made that point quite clear.

Everyone, please keep all "Power Ranking" topics/posts in this thread. One "Power Ranking" thread a week is enough.

Oh, I hate Brady. I respect him because hes a winner and could work with any team. Just as important as Manning is. And because Manning out for the year, I think Brady will be best QB of this time. He wont win another superbowl, but maybe a few more MVPs if he keeps doing his thing.

I would say the Ravens fairly belong absolutely no lower than number 5 in any power ranking set, so most people seem to be getting that right. Honestly, I would think they should be number 2. Though the Patriots had a powerful offensive showing, I would have loved to see how their defense would hold up against Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, and Anquan Boldin. I'd be willing to bet that the Ravens O could put up more than 24 points if they played like that.

However, I do see Green Bay as the best team in the league. Not necessarily until they lose a game, but while they're winning convincingly and against good teams.

I agree with Brian Billick, who says this Ravens team may be the best Ravens team ever.

06 was the best team thus far superbowl or not. 1/2 way through the season we had the national cbs game...steelers were local. I was in south Carolina at the time and did not miss any games 8games into the season.

Firing....

The Pats did not show up with any D... without the Defense they are half a team no worthy of #2
I don't think they will be number two for long but they are a proven team as much as I hate them.

Im fine with Patriots and Packers being infront of us but not philly! are you serious? If Jackson and Amendola don't get injured this game is a blow out. That defense is soooo overrated.

Well, this should be confirmation that these mean nothing, I think it may be a little early to put the steeler's ahead of us again, but hey whatever the only power ranking that matters is the one that happens in February.
