Help With Team This Week

27 posts in this topic

Pick 3:
Jamaal Charles (KC) vs. DET
Ryan Grant (GB) vs. CAR
Arian Foster (HOU) vs. MIA (from what i heard his injury is healed, not sure if thats true)
Peyton Hillis (CLE) vs. IND
Beanie Wells (ARI) vs. WAS
Michael Turner (ATL) vs. PHI

I was going to go with Charles, Grant, and Wells. But i just wanted your guys input

Should i stick with Roddy White (vs PHI) and Calvin Johnson (vs KC) as my starting WR's? or should i switch one out for Miles Austin (vs SF) or Mike Wallace (vs. SEA)

I was definitely going to go with Calvin, but i didnt know about Roddy, seeing as he was probably gonna be covered by Nnamdi.

and finally, pick 1:
Jermichael Finley (GB) vs. CAR
Jason Witten (DAL) vs. SF

I'd probably go Turner, Charles and Hillis (Foster if playing). Eagles look like they have some problems stopping the run. I feel like we are going to see a heavy dose of Turner this game. Detroit's defense isn't too bad at stopping the run in the middle (especially with Timmons) but Charles with his outside running should be very effective. Colts Run D is just bad. Hillis should get a ton of work.

I usually like to stick with my studs. But Wallace for White might not be a bad idea. I would def go with Calvin Johnson.

Finley over Witten.

Eagles can bring the edge rush pretty well. But they are struggling with the run down the middle. Their MLB is Casey Matthews who has a long way to go. I'm expected the Eagles inability to stop the run to be a trend as the season goes on.

That's why I think Turner is a must play. He'll be the guy that exposes that middle and break the arm tackles to get into the secondary.

They allowed Caddy Williams to rush for 4.8 ypc (91 total yards). And Steven Jackson had 2 carries for 56 yards. So the Rams were able to rush for 156 total yards against them in a losing effort.

Oh alright man gotcha. One more thing, and this is probably a dumb question cause no one knows yet, you think Peyton is worth hanging on to?

I mean, i dont think i need a 2nd QB (except for his bye week) seeing as Vick is my QB. But i like to have one anyway, just as a backup plan.

I assume you are in a 10 team league? If so, he is getting close to being cut, but it depends upon who is out there. I would still hold onto him for a bit longer to see if there is some sort of timetable set.

I'd feel kind of iffy about having just Vick and Manning on my roster. Vick is going to be taking a lot more hits behind that O-Line he has.

I agree 100% with this sentiment.

@OP how the heck did u get soo many stud RBs? Its kind of ridiculous to have that much talent on 1 roster.

Well its kind of complicated. But basically the guys i ran the league with for the last 2 years, havent even participated during the season. They didnt make any moves to their team, and were basically AFK the whole season. So i dropped all those guys and started a 4 team league, with 3 other people who i KNEW were going to play. I guess that sounds dumb, but i kind of got mad and didnt wanna be in a league with no one really playing. xD

I played in a 4 team once. Interesting to try. But I prefer 12 even if people aren't paying attention.

Im having trouble picking 5 out of Darren McFadden, Jamaal Charles, Beanie Wells, Blount, Reggie Wayne, Manningham and Steve Johnson.

All have awesome potential

Start with the must play. McFadden. He is their offensive gameplan. Collins was able to get the ball to Reggie Wayne. Stick with him. Steve Johnson. Jamaal Charles (start your studs) and................Manningham if Nicks is out. Blount if he is in. I think they will get back to getting Blount back into the swing.

Wells is the odd man out. I think he struggles against the Redskins D. I have a feeling the Redskins will be testing the secondary of the Cards and the Cards will have to play tag w/ the pass.

I have Sam Bradford as backup QB (Not out of choice). Thinking about dropping him for either Cam Newton or Chad Henne. My starter is Brady. What do you all think? I am unsure of Bradford and his new injury going forward. I liked what I saw with Chad but not sure about him and Cam had a great game but what will see out of him in the future?

Wait it out? add/drop?

Thanks for your help
(This is my Family non-keeper league but I won last year and want to kick their butts again!)

Easy. Don't overact to game 1 that's my advice. Bradford is still the better QB and is in a better system to succeed. Don't forget that Bradford went against a tough secondary this week. Keep Bradford. Leave Henne and Cam on the waiver.

Charles Turner Foster
Calvin Wallace
Finley

Charles you just gotta start. Turner should run all over the Eagles. Plus its in ATL. And Ryan I think will have trouble throwing against Nnamdi,Samuel,Rogers-Cromartie. Foster I think will have limited carries and would be a risky pick. But it might just be worth it. Even though Leach is gone the dude is still a great RB. Hes coming off a bad njury which adds to the risk. But I would go with him anyway.
Calvin is just gonna go off. I dont see any reason for him not to. Hes a definete start.
Wallace I feel shpuld have a good game. I see Mendenhall having a huge game but Wallace could still have a TD.
Finley vs CAR, no doubt. Hes due for a TD and should have a monster game. Especially with Beason being out for the year on the panthers.

Im probably not gonna start Arian Foster again this week, unless i find out later on he's at 100%. so who should i start over him?
Fred Jackson (BUF) vs. NE or
Beanie Wells (ARI) vs SEA

I was gonna go with Wells, just because, well its Seattle, but then i saw that NE hasnt done well at all on the defensive side of the ball. so i didnt know.

Also, not that we know yet, but should i start Vick this week (if he's healthy and good to go) against NYG or put in Big Ben against Indy.

As always, thank so much for the help.

I Doubt Foster plays a big role this week, if any. They want to make sure he is 100%. I like Jackson but the Bills might have to lean heavily on the pass game if they fall behind. Wells has a decent matchup. Its really a coin flip. If it were me, Wells because you know the game won't get out of hand.

If Vick is ok'd to go, I'd go Vick. Steelers should rely upon their run game. Keep the hits off Ben.

Think i should put back in Roddy White this week then (vs TB) over Mike Wallace?

Its so hard making decisions between studs in a limited team league. I'd say White. He's the better WR. He's going to have a big game sooner or later. I really think the Steelers rely upon their run game a bit. Wallace might get a TD on a long pass. But I would go with White.

hmm CJ2K week this week, according to yahoo he's projected 17 points, i think he might be a player i want to bench until the week after his "I'm Back" game... b/c he's been putting up 5 points or less as of late. idk if i should risk benching best vs vikes w/o the williams wall (right now they allow most points to rb's) or Hillis vs Mia

I also have Blount vs ATL
Wells vs Sea
CJ2K vs Den

Do they really? I did not know that. I was kinda worried about Best. But when you put it that way. Best it is! I find it hard to bench Best as well, since he is in such a potent fantasy offense.

But I like CJ2K to have his comeback game and to show us all why he was drafted in the 1st round. Denver struggled to contain McFadden, which will be a similar case with CJ since he can get to the outside. Denver's defense is not very good right now. Plus they have to travel to the East Coast. I think 2 game weeks is enough to get CJ going, it should be.

Both both Wells and Blount have decent matchups as well.

Hillis Questionable, if he's out or even still questionable by sunday, pick 1 CJ2K or Lagarrate Blount

they are talking about this could be CJ2K's coming out game. The could be scares me, but if it is, he could put up a monster game for me (which i'm playing the 1a team in the league right now)

Blount is playing Atlanta's defense.... the same defense mccoy shreded last week

As PuRock would say, "stick with your studs" and i would agree with him here. CJ is gonna have a good game here soon, lets hope its this week for ya!

Injury help with me:
Beanie Wells (hamstring) could be less effective this week
Peyton Hillis (illness) probably will start/play but who knows how much?

Should i put Fred Jackson in for either one of these guys? Or possibly pick up someone? (Mike Tolbert, James Starks, Ben Tate, or Benjarvis Green-Ellis are some RBs available)

My problem is all of those guys are studs, Hillis being injured allows me to fiddle around lol, I'm thinking CJ2K and Best.
I'd def start Fred Jackson, idk over who, Wells is probable vs Hillis' questionable. idk who's on your bench (overall) but tate and starks would make for good pick ups, starks is getting the #1 RB pos in GB, and Foster is projected to be sat out until fully healed, and the mean time ben tate is playing some pretty good ball, even when foster comes back, i don't see tate being stuck to the bench, especially in this day when you almost have to have the shared carries throughout the year.

Some of these guys need to start proving that they still are studs. *Looking in Foster/CJ/Dallas Clark/Gore's directions"

Jackson is the leading rusher in the league. He should be a start every week. Bills have an offense. And of course pickup Ben Tate. How is he still out there? I'm not trusting Fosters hammy for a couple more weeks and Tate puts up numbers. Make it happen. Or Hillis will probably be a solid play even though i haven't researched what is wrong with him yet.

Coach sent him home because he wasn't feeling well. Just a cold. He'll be fine for Sunday.
