PIT cannot lose this game though -- not that I expect them to. But if they go down two games from the get go, the best they can probably hope for is a WC

Yeah I figured when I read about this, it was going to be posted on here. Regardless of what happened in Super Bowl 40, you can't change what has already been done, but if the Steelers go out and play like they did against us last Sunday, they'll need more than the refs help to win the game. Since this is in Pittsburgh... I expect the Steelers to take out their frustrations from last week on the Seahawks.

Steelers 34
Seahawks 10

The Seahawks don't have a snowballs chance in H...! But that was also said that about the Ravens a few days ago ...lol.
You got that right....no one expected the Ravens laying a spanking on the Steelers (not even the Pats or the Greenbay can do that)...so it might as well no one expect the Seahawks beat the Steelers by a field goal......21-20 Seahawks.....

I don't know. The Seahawks just don't seem to have much to fight with. This is a big, big game for the Steelers IMO. They need to bounce back and make a statement. A close win against the Seahawks won't do that. They need to win big or it will get into their heads and affect the rest of their season. IMO.

yah, a loss from the Steelers is bad, but a close win for the Steelers is not any better. The 49ers spanked them.....

Well, we certainly had a much better chance than a "snowballs chance in he..", but I hear what you're saying.

The WR (I think it was Darrell Jackson) put a hand on his man before he adjusted for the ball, but he didn't shove him. He simply tapped him and turned for the ball. The Steelers DB was not moved or pushed back by it. D Jax simply put a hand on him and quickly adjusted....I guess you're right in that it could have gone either way, but it just seemed like a really soft call.

Chris Hope was clearly pushed into a lean back position on that play. No question about it. Regardless of how blatant or subtle, it was a penalty. And a good one too considering it was a scoring play.

I have seen much worse not get called, both on offense and defense.

In the end zone with a ref right there? I doubt it. But I'm glad you mentioned that because I'm sure we've all seen blatant penalties not called and subtle ones called and maybe even in the same game. The fact is, he pushed Chris Hope and it was a scoring play. Does he score anyway without the push off? Maybe, but that's not what happened.

I don't really see how the fact that it was a TD makes a difference. If anything, why, if you are a ref, would you take points off the board when the call could go either way? But if it does matter, what about Roddy pushing off against Josh Wilson with the game on the line in FG range? That was way more obvious. Not to mention, once he got passed Wilson, it was clear as day he was going to score. What about Fitzgerald pushing off against C. Woodson on a TD play in the 09 playoffs? There are many more.

i dont understand your logic......your pointing out things the refs missed in totally unrelated games as proof of what

this was a penalty it was called....end of story

you even admit it was a penalty......do you think penalty's should not be called in the superbowl?

What's wrong with my logic? What I'm saying is that yes, I have seen worse not get called. Warden was telling me that since it was in the endzone with a ref very close to the scene, no I have not, which is wrong. I don't get why the fact that it was in the endzone makes it more of a penalty. If anything, I think it makes it less of a penalty because this play was one that most would agree could go either way. But since this was a scoring play, why, if I were a ref, would I take points off the board?

Those other examples may be unrelated to SB 40, but in reality, they're just examples of worse things not getting called, which backs up my point. Roddy pushing off on J. Wilson was FAR more blatant than what D Jax did to Chris Hope. That play (the Roddy play) is not something I would say could go either way if I were calling a fair game (and I'm not accusing Levy and his crew of not calling a fair game in the SB).

When did I admit it was a penalty? Either way is as simple as either way, meaning that not throwing a flag on that play would be just as acceptable as throwing it. I just thought it was such a soft call, especially compared to other things that don't get called or go missed.

Don't know what to tell you. In SBXL, it was a push off and it was called.

Big market team bias, the Steelers always plays with 12 on the field.
Pittsburgh is a big market???? I don't think so. Popular, yes. But big markets are teams that play in New York, Boston, Chicago, etc.
Yet another conspiracy.

Pittsburgh in and of itself may not be a big market but there are Steeler bandwagon fans across the entire nation. That makes it a big TV market and a media darling.

It does seem like Pitt gets any bad calls to go FOR them and all those iffy calls that normally would be let go as well. I do admit though It could just seem that way to me as I see the Steelers play more often than any other team besides the Ravens since I live in Steeler country.

No doubt, amazing how Pittsburgh has twice as many fans than people.

I'm with you on the whole conspiracy thing. I hate that card so much. Pittsburgh has a small media market, but as for a national market, they are huge.

you said it was a "soft call".....which i took to mean that you agree its a penalty but its a nit pick of a penalty...which i might agree with

but what i think warden was trying to say is that when your in the superbowl and you score off a play like that, its going to be called more because of the importance of the play....its human nature and refs(untill science can make robot refs) are human

Any team that has done what the Steelers have would have such a large fanbase in my opinion.

The Steelers HAVE to win by at LEAST 10 points or it's pretty embarassing.

The Seahawks lost 33-17 to the awful 49ers. They've pretty much booked their top 5 pick already and we're only one game in to the season. The Steelers need to re-gain some self-respect after that beat down and I think they do it to the lowly Seahawks. I'd say the score ends up around 32-3 Steelers.

Man, I wasn't too far off on this one.

As far as this game goes I was a little frustrated getting stopped on the goaline in the beginning, but beyond that there isn't much to complain about here. Defense played great and the offense was largely consistent. I'm really looking forward to the playing the Colts.

This might end all the overreactions.

The Steelers are still one of the NFL's best.

Not that beating the Seahawks means much. lol
