BTW is Harrison one eyed now? That would be awesome if he played with an eye patch. I'd be even more scared if I were an OL man.

"Here comes that one-eye pass rushing freak!, they say his eye socket is filled with gold!"

HAHAHAHA!!! I actually tought the same thing!

You know, you surely don't take well to losing..... Ravens fans have been hoping for the Steelers to fall off for awhile now....., that... regardless of what your biased thoughts are... they haven't played well this year. The trend seems to be a decline. Obviously, its very early and they are as resilient as they come. Though, for you to blindly use last year as a measuring stick.... thats a bit naive, don't you think?

Not when it comes to the age argument, no. And I'm not the only one discounting it. In fact, I think it's a little too easy to use the age card. If it was in week 14-17 then maybe, but it's week 4-5.

What, on defense has changed? you've basically returned the same team.... IF age IS a factor now, I feel really bad for you guys in weeks 14-17. I don't think they're too old, I do think they are playing badly. I DO think they need to infuse more youth or at least go to more sub packages. Pittsburgh generally stays in base defense, correct? Maybe Dickie needs to find a better line-up? The pass rush is as weak as I can remember it, Troy P has blown MORE tackles then I've seen 9 or ever thought he would), Farrior is being exposed over the middle, Larry Foote is a MAJOR liability in run support, McFadden can't get healthy, Casey Hampton is getting pushed out of plays.....

So, if it's not age, then where has the decline came from? Fall off in skill? Lazy in the lockout? Super Bowl Hangover? Lack of motivation? Poor coaching? Poor Personell? I'm not beating up on the Steelers at all, I watch most of their games and I'm looking for an even more watchful eye's opinion.

This I agree with. And they ARE injecting age. Base defense? Are you kidding? LeBeau and the Steelers are most known for disguising their defense. I guess they have you fooled. haha j/k.

I disagree with most of this. Most of this is an exxageration based on only a play or two by each player and NOT their overall performance to date. I also think we went into Houston wanting to defend the pass.

That's the big question. But, we only gave up 17 points to a good team. We shut out a poor team (and shut outs are rare enough to make that an accomplishment). Again, we're only a few months removed from a SB appearance and a #2 defense.

My worry is more our inibility (or Mendy's inability) to run the ball and our shuffled/depleted O-Line. With the exception of our game against the Ravens, we've done okay on defense. Not so well, at all, on offense.

And I'm not being biased. I'm being honest.

Players themselves admit the zone blocking scheme causing issues:

The Steelers DO NOT run a lot of sub packages.... They stay in BASE D most of the time, sure...the blitzes are diguised but thats about it.

Be grateful. They're our biggest rival, and they're playing terribly. What's not to like? Hopefully in Week 9 (the week we vs them, I think?) they will still be playing like they are now, and we will have an easy win over them.

Neither do you with the exception of using Suggs in a few different spots.

Troy plays all over the place which would be our equivelent to that.

No, nothing to do with his age. I was referencing the fact that you said your season collapsing hinges around injuries. Well, now Harrison is out for a few weeks, Mendenhall is out for this week I believe, Aaron Smith is doubtful for this week according to Tomlin and Roethlisberger is not going to be 100% and until your O-line gets better he will keep taking hits.

Mewelde Moore is likely out. Not, Mendy. Timmons is filling Harrisons spot for now.

Still more concerned about our o-line more, because again, we held the Texans to 17 points.

Well, they scored 31 but had 2 TDs taken away, Wardy... but yes, your D held the O to 17 points without Andre Johnson.

Your O-line is more than a legitimate cause for concern. I know the play where he got hurt was dirty and illegal but Ben surely can't avoid injury forever behind it.

Not to question your knowledge of your own team or anything but this PFT article says Mendenhall is "far less likely to play" (than Roethlisberger) albeit it is incorrect in saying Moore is likely to play in his place.

EDIT: Forgot the link lol : http://profootballta...likely-to-play/

Kind Sparty, rotoworld is reporting the same exact thing. Both Moore (ankle) and Mendy (hamstring) are banged up. Thanks for your time.
