Indeed. Of everyone to ever appear on the cover, only Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu dogged bullets. Ironically they were the only two defensive players to ever appear on the cover.

Not to bring up bad memories of Ray being out... but wasn't 2005 the year he missed most of the season? Same deal with hairball too the year he was on the madden cover.

Ray Lewis was on the cover of Madden '05 then proceeded to miss 10 games of the 2005 season due to injury so you could say it got him, just late. Troy also missed 11 games of the 2009 season after appearing on the cover.

Lewis was on the cover of Madden 2005 ... which came out for the 2004 season. He had 146 tackles in 14 games that year. It was the 2005 season when he was hurt.

You are right about Polamalu. For whatever reason I thought he only missed 2 games that year.

I think Larry Fitzgerald was fine.

Regardless, football is a violent sport and no one who plays often enough to get on the cover of Madden will get out of the sport uninjured.
