In a way this is good for the Steelers too, they needed to be humbled, as much as any team in history that needed to be humbled. Ours is a team that has learned through failure to be hungry and never take anything for granted.

Moving forward, I will boycott anyone (Not that you'd care since it's your forum) who calls the Steelers the Squealers, the Smealers, the Stealers, the Smeelers or any other immature names.

I feel like I'm in 3rd grade.
And will you also boycott any stiller fans on your home forum who refer to our team as "Ratbirds", "Crows" or "Raisins"?

Lol dude, get over yourself. It's not as if we say "Squeelers" anywhere near as much as you guys call us "Rat-birds" on every Steeler and NFL forum.

Agreed. Rat-birds, Raisins, and a few others that I've heard that i cant type here

By the way, I'm sure this has been said already, but i love how everything is OK when the steelers fans do it, but if Ravens fans do it, its so wrong. We aren't allowed to gloat after a win without them saying "it was our SB" or "We needed it more than them". xD

The game today was an outright massacre and it wasn't even as close as the score showed. But something you guys don't know is that the Steelers had a secret plan. Tomlin knew going into this season that our kick return team needed some practice. So he decided that it was beneficial to let the Ravens score as many times as possible to let the kick return guys get some practice and that is the main reason for the lose and nothing else!

Ok now, all kidding aside. This butt whooping that you put on the Steelers was impressive but from a fans perspective, they are lucky to not have played some sub-par teams for the first 3 games and eek them all out and think the Steelers are actually a good 3-0 team. If anything, perhaps this will help them set the perspective and that there is a new standard being set in the AFCN.

From my view, here were the most telling storylines of this game.

1.) Steelers were outcoached and outexecuted on every single level, LeBeau got out-Lebeaued. And Cam wasn't afraid to make the big playcall today showing the ability for a quick strike offense.

2.) The turnovers didn't effect the outcome of the game at all. Those 7 turnovers as nice as it is to have that number didn't contribute to the win. You guys had the game well in hand prior to the rash of turnovers. Just so you know, I'm not taking anything away with this comment, just stating that other factors contributed much more heavily to your win.

3.) Your TEs proved that they are beasts, the play where Troy got burned into the corner definitely scared the Steelers defense and the possibility of the future.

4.) Ray Rice is like Fred Taylor in his prime and those type of backs always give Steelers fits. The small strong backs that run hard and cutback hard into the hole since the Steelers have such fast support, Rice finds that small gap in overpursuit.

5.) Flacco was efficient and made every throw count. His numbers don't look gaudy but that is because the game was out of hand.

6.) Both offensive lines held up better than though, obviously with the edge going to the Ravens and how they controlled the Steelers rush. But I attribute the lack of rush to Cams play calling and how he rolled Flacco in the pocket on times and kept the rush off balanced.

7.) I don't want to judge Evans harshly and didn't watch if he drew the safety a lot and that is why he was shut down. But it appears he will have a hard time this season with match-ups against elite corners. Perhaps you guys saw more closely than I did if he did his job as a somewhat decoy this game.

8.)You're defense looks great, Ngata & Suggs are beasts.

Ok, I actually could keep going about the Ravens but I need to get to work. So a few parting words.

In the long run, perhaps most Steeler fans will thank your Ravens just like I am if this is a wake-up call to the Steelers that nothing is going to be handed to them with this new aged Ravens team.

Don't let this win go to your head too much, you have an example by looking at some Steeler's fans when you think your team is the cats meow.

Good luck guys and see you in week 9.

Don't forget as a football team that you want to have some swagger but obviously it was a lesson learned. And that happens sometimes when a team beats the other somewhat consistently which is what happened in this series. Now if they continue to keep this same attitude then some major adjustments need to be made in the locker room.

The Steeler fan is complaining about our jubilance over this victory?

I am thoroughly tired of Steeler fans. When they win, it is in my ear all day long. I have heard from your fans, your players, and your press, over and over and over how the Squealers were going to sweep us this year. Now that the first game is over and the beat down delivered, you don't want us to raise our voices... TOUGH. Just as in the game, you don't like it... stop it...

i agree you dont like it go back to your board dont complain here

Some people will look for an argument anywhere which is obviously what you are doing. Everyone knows the saying, "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it".

I wasn't telling you how long to be happy and what is the acceptable timeline. I was talking about perspective in regard to the win and a 19 game season.

You know it, honestly I hate uneducated immature Steeler fans more than I hate uneducated immature fans of opposing teams because those idiotic Steeler fans lead to a stereotype. And since I'm a fan of the Steelers it means I'm already categorized within the stereotype as one of those idiots without even saying a word because of the idiotic comments of a few developing that stereotype so why would I want them to say Ratbirds, Crows or Raisns(lol, raisins never heard that one its really dumb).. Kapiche?

You guys really don't think you needed it more than the Steelers? I don't know why you guys consider that an insult. Even on your own forum prior to the regular season, your boards were filled with how to build a team to beat the Steelers. And how many of your own forum members said how sick they'd be if the Steelers ended their season last year and then gave them their first lose this year.

The average person builds an opinion based off the masses and no offense, this offseason a high percentage of your topics referred back to beating the Steelers, etc... Now that isn't my opinion, that's fact, go look through older posts even from a month back.

So if you don't really feel this was bigger as a win for the Ravens then to each their own, we agree to disagree but if your fanbase wanted it this bad, don't you think the players kind of felt the same also?

First Time poster here - and Steelers fan.
First of all...one great performance by the Ravens. Just an old fashioned butt whoppin, plain and simple. But as a coach around here used to say after a game like that, now matter what side of the game you were on, "You're not as bad as they say you are, and you're not as good as you think you are!"
It's week 1.

see, it is arrogant statements like this that causes my Ravens brothers/sisters and myself to question your motives and posts here bruh! your steelers knew this was a big game stop trying to act like it meant nothing to the steelers and more to us! it meant alot to BOTH teams. need proof? just look at how angry your coach was at the post-game interview! nearly everyone (sport media analysts) picked the steelers to win this game. everyone including the steelers just knew they would win. the steelers are arrogant, prideful and came into M&T and got blasted, crushed, smoked and embarrased by the better team! it is that simple!

What are you even talking about? Reading comprehension is key to life.

In what world did I say this game wasn't important to the Steelers? I'm not making excuses for the Steelers for not showing up because "It wasn't as important for them". You're right, they got "blasted, crushed, smoked" blah blah. You point out the obvious like it is relevant to anything I was talking about just because you like how it sounds being typed.

And P.S, you are completely not right, incorrect, erroneous, wide of the mark and flat out wrong when saying that everyone picked the Steelers to win in the media.

I apologize to the rest of the civil posters but responses like this that are intended to force confrontation when that wasn't my intention with the original post.

If you wanna avoid confrontation, you should probably avoid a BALTIMORE RAVENS FORUM after Steelers week. Just my 2 cents.

If anything, you guys make fun of all the Steeler "trolls" who show up before the game but after a Ravens win that we don't show up. So now the Ravens won, I'm here to talk and to be courteous I didn't show up after Steeler week to gloat last year after the Steelers won.

People might say that the Steelers have been the flagship team of the Super Bowl era. And in the last 6 yrs, have been to 'half' the SB's and won 2 of them. And the team STILL rarely get's any respect when theirs talk of SB favorites each year ! I think it's just the style of football the Steelers are known for playing: the "win the game AND beat you up while doing it persona". So either you love em, or you hate em. To be honest, I see the Ravens with a similar style and heading down that road. But don't get me wrong, that strategy works (it has for the Steelers). Theirs nothing like seeing a team shut down because "enough" of their players are scared to run or catch the ball... you get "enough" of their players thinking like that ... game over.

Why do all steelers fans think we need this more? Was this or was this not the first game of the season? We both started off 0-0 and the steelers came to our house and got spanked. Last time i checked, in professional sports, both teams play their heart out to try and win. Now if what your saying is true, did the steelers just come into the game, and say, "Oh lets just play for fun today guys! YAY " No. im pretty sure they didn't. They talked trash ever since they knew we were playing each other week one, and then like we saw, they didn't back it up. Stop making excuses for the loss, and saying the ravens needed this more. The steelers played poorly, we played better, so we won.

EDIT: I don't mean that as an insult to you or anything, but most of the steelers fans that have said something about the loss, have said that they didnt need this game. Which is mind-boggling to me.
And also, yes most of the topics this offseason HAVE been about beating the steelers. Thats only because you beat us 2 out of the three times last year, and then all 3 the year before that. Its not like we only build our team to beat you guys, we have 14 other games a season to worry about.
