And to pigeon-hole and entire fanbase is insane based off a few obvious idiots. Instead of assuming the idiot fans who represent the Steelers are in the majority, why dont you choose to assume the knowledgeable ones are the majority.

Experience has taught me otherwise.....just saying. ;)

Seriously, you do realize it was one game. I said that prior to this game and would be saying it after even if the Steelers won. Don't be one of those fans that when the tables are turned its ok to say the exact same things the other fans were saying.

And as for Suggs talking smack, that was the point I was trying to say if you read my posts. Both teams have a right to smack talk all they want as long as its backed up by fact. And fact is, Suggs kills us, just like Ben had a record of winning against you guys. It wasn't like that ridiculous kind of smack talk you hear from teams with nothing to back it up.

And also, those big contracts we signed, two of them were to very young players with high potential. Also, what would you have done with Harrison last year, are you saying if he was a Raven you wouldn't expect the Ravens to sign him? Same goes with Troy this year, yes he is injury prone but he is still one of the best even if he did have a bad game yesterday.

Overall, please don't make season predictions based off one game. You won, talk about the positives of the Ravens and we can readdress the Steelers issues again in week 5 if they haven't righted the ship which would make you guys very happy obviously.
I do realize it is one game but surely you realize that it was not just a loss. It was a dismantling of your entire team, with the exception of ST. We both have fairly easy schedules this season so it's not like you're going to go 8-8 or anything but I just don't see anything you can take away from yesterday that says that team can hang with the best of the AFC this season.

Leave it to Steeler fans to delude themselves into thinking yesterday was a positive for them. It seems the consensus with them is it lit a fire under their teams [butts] and they win the next 15 games.

Honestly I loved the win yesterday, but I would be surprised if we did that in week 9, not surprised if we win but if we do it by such a large margin again, the steeler's are a good team and Dick lebeau is one of the best so we will have to come up with something new.

I disagree. They got beat by speed mainly. Our guys were in their backfield before they had time to even blink. Whoever they put on Rice (granted, mostly linebackers) couldn't keep up. Troy was outran, that's right, outran by Dickson. Our O line was off the LOS and pushing them back so fast they couldn't even gain momentum for a rush. It was all about speed. And we are only going to get better, not worse. As these guys play together and gel, gain chemistry, etc. we will improve. As the guy from the Pittsburgh Post says "sure they'll remember come Nov. 6th, but will they be able to do anything about it?"

Do you actually read anything I say?? You just have an objective in your mind that you want to convey and act like I'm arguing with you.

So I can say it was luck yesterday that every fumble went right into the Ravens hands even though more than 50% of fumbles are typically recovered by the offensive team? Of course I'm not going to say that, those turnovers were CREATED by the Ravens.

I enjoy golfing and am a low 80s golfer but insist that I can always beat my friend who is a mid to high 70s golfer. But always at the end of the round when I'm giving him my typical $10 because I lost I complain that he got lucky that my drive ended up behind that tree on a particular hole when his bounced into the fairway after bouncing off a tree. But as I get older I'm realizing that most of the time you create your own luck and the result is a benefit of your skill. And now I know that he doesn't get lucky, he was just better on that particular day.

So please, to blame the refs and lucky bounces for the Ravens past losses vs the Steelers is an immature battle.

Bask in the future and don't harp on the past.

Good win Ravens.
I read what you said and what I am saying is that if it wasn't for some horrible calls by the refs it wouldn't of taken Flacco this long to "beat ben".

Joe didnt beat Ben, he beat the Steelers defense, and the Ravens team beat the Steelers

Joe made plays last year in the playoffs to beat the Steelers, but guys dropped balls..Boldin dropped the TD, TJ dropped a critical 4th down pass that would have been a first down...those would have wrapped that game up, even with his mistakes

Joe hasnt been horrible against the Steelers, he just hasnt played as well as he did yesterday and against other teams

Exactly. I know he isn't competing against big ben hence why I put it in quotations. Merely mocking what the media says.

You are quite welcome. It was our pleasure.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance in this matter in the future.

We have an opening during week 9, would you like to schedule another appointment then?

I'll have to check the Steelers schedule, unfortunately I think they have something else planned for week 9 against you guys.... I at least hope they do!

Hopefully the coaches got something special planned for week 9. I'm 100% sure the Steelers won't let that happen again and will want revenge. Of course if we were really that amazing and the Steelers were at 100%, then easy win :P

By week 9 the Squealers will need a booster shot, another innoculation against over confidence and delusional thoughts

The Steelers better make sure they have plenty of oxygen tanks and canes on the sidelines for them old folk on D. (This is fun).

I would agree. I get tired of we don't get respected card. The only reason why the Ravens didn't get any respect is because the Ravens gave people 0 reason to respect us vs the Steelers. It would be a different if people were still against the ravens after this win. But overall, when people talk about great organizations, the ravens are often in the discussion
People might say that the Steelers have been the flagship team of the Super Bowl era. And in the last 6 yrs, have been to 'half' the SB's and won 2 of them. And the team STILL rarely get's any respect when theirs talk of SB favorites each year ! I think it's just the style of football the Steelers are known for playing: the "win the game AND beat you up while doing it persona". So either you love em, or you hate em. To be honest, I see the Ravens with a similar style and heading down that road. But don't get me wrong, that strategy works (it has for the Steelers). Theirs nothing like seeing a team shut down because "enough" of their players are scared to run or catch the ball... you get "enough" of their players thinking like that ... game over.

Moving forward, I will boycott anyone (Not that you'd care since it's your forum) who calls the Steelers the Squealers, the Smealers, the Stealers, the Smeelers or any other immature names.

I feel like I'm in 3rd grade.

Yep, Steeler Fever. Bunch of tools
You get a lot of juvenile's on most of the Steelers message boards except SteelersUniverse.com (my favorite) and perhaps PlanetSteelers.com. SteelersUniverse.com is the only one I know of that has interviews with the actual players and even has them participating. They also keep a close eye on the newer members to see if they turn out to be a knuckle-head or not. So their exists a group of Steelers fans that ALSO do not like and don't get along with the Steelers fans you mention. There are already "several" Ravens fans participating over there as well...

The game today was an outright massacre and it wasn't even as close as the score showed. But something you guys don't know is that the Steelers had a secret plan. Tomlin knew going into this season that our kick return team needed some practice. So he decided that it was beneficial to let the Ravens score as many times as possible to let the kick return guys get some practice and that is the main reason for the lose and nothing else!

Ok now, all kidding aside. This butt whooping that you put on the Steelers was impressive but from a fans perspective, they are lucky to not have played some sub-par teams for the first 3 games and eek them all out and think the Steelers are actually a good 3-0 team. If anything, perhaps this will help them set the perspective and that there is a new standard being set in the AFCN.

From my view, here were the most telling storylines of this game.

1.) Steelers were outcoached and outexecuted on every single level, LeBeau got out-Lebeaued. And Cam wasn't afraid to make the big playcall today showing the ability for a quick strike offense.

2.) The turnovers didn't effect the outcome of the game at all. Those 7 turnovers as nice as it is to have that number didn't contribute to the win. You guys had the game well in hand prior to the rash of turnovers. Just so you know, I'm not taking anything away with this comment, just stating that other factors contributed much more heavily to your win.

3.) Your TEs proved that they are beasts, the play where Troy got burned into the corner definitely scared the Steelers defense and the possibility of the future.

4.) Ray Rice is like Fred Taylor in his prime and those type of backs always give Steelers fits. The small strong backs that run hard and cutback hard into the hole since the Steelers have such fast support, Rice finds that small gap in overpursuit.

5.) Flacco was efficient and made every throw count. His numbers don't look gaudy but that is because the game was out of hand.

6.) Both offensive lines held up better than though, obviously with the edge going to the Ravens and how they controlled the Steelers rush. But I attribute the lack of rush to Cams play calling and how he rolled Flacco in the pocket on times and kept the rush off balanced.

7.) I don't want to judge Evans harshly and didn't watch if he drew the safety a lot and that is why he was shut down. But it appears he will have a hard time this season with match-ups against elite corners. Perhaps you guys saw more closely than I did if he did his job as a somewhat decoy this game.

8.)You're defense looks great, Ngata & Suggs are beasts.

Ok, I actually could keep going about the Ravens but I need to get to work. So a few parting words.

In the long run, perhaps most Steeler fans will thank your Ravens just like I am if this is a wake-up call to the Steelers that nothing is going to be handed to them with this new aged Ravens team.

Don't let this win go to your head too much, you have an example by looking at some Steeler's fans when you think your team is the cats meow.

Good luck guys and see you in week 9.
I am sure everyone here appreciates the kind and honest words. It sounds like you are a sensible fan that knows football.

The only thing I disagree with is about Evans. Evans didn't make any catches but he did what we needed him to do. He ran off coverages. It help Boldin get single coverage. If the Steelers had ever let him get one on one without safety help over the top, you would have seen a more passes go his way but the Steelers know him well enough and know his speed so they kept a safety there over top of him. No catches was fine as long as there is single coverage elsewhere and no 8th man in the box trying to stop the run. When Mason was a Raven, that is what you guys did to us. No one respected Mason as a deep threat. Evan is a different animal.

The Steelers are the defending AFC champions and still have all they're "championship pieces" ... while the ravens came into this season with a lot of questions marks compared to the steelers pretty much expected to own the division ... but yet our team looks to have been playing together for a few seasons and theyre going to gel even more down the road and be even better by the Time week 9 comes it could be worse.. Considering willie colon is done .. who do they have left on they're line ? And like everyone has been saying the last three years the defense secondary isnt that great its the pass rush that always caused disruption and look what happens when woodley and harrison get ate up for the game .. the steelers secondary gets tourched ... Hampton is old etc. Its funny how steeler fans keep saying its just one game or yeah week 9 but its not like we havent been down the road before and havent had the game in our hand to just give them to you in the 4th quarter in the past what 2 3 seasons every game has been decided by 3-7 points and now a 35-7 route is a fluke ? (coughhh) the steelers were done in the 1st half

I think the difference between swagger and arrogance is fan perspective. No one likes to hear another team boast about their abilities. Either way, that is a moot point, the Steelers got their asses handed to them. I feel this win was much bigger for the Ravens as a mental perspective than it would have been for the Steelers if they won.
i agreed with your very first post and thank you for your kind words.

but...this was not a big "mental" win for our Ravens as you, other steeler fans or even the media would like to portray. the Ravens already know they can beat the steelers! they just lacked execution in doing so. in this 35-7 thrashing....your boys saw what the Ravens "really" look like when they execute plays properly, do their jobs and stop "handing" victories to the steelers. again...thanks for your kind words but we know that this was just game 1 and that this was a season opener and that there is much more football to be played. our mission isn't over yet! so, we'll see you cats in week 9.
