Cary Williams

I was pretty impressed, sure our d-line dominated BB the whole game, but i liked what i saw. I was pretty dissapointed not seeing Jimmy playing, and Doss/Smith/Evans not getting any receptions, or Kindle not playing, but overall im happy about the results, great game.

Did our DBs play well besides Reeds 2 ints. I didnt get to see the game, besides highlights on NFL Network, because I live in Northern Kentucky.

Cary was consistently tight on coverage and tackles (he's a beast). Overall very good coverage for Webb, Foxworth and the safeties with Williams being the obvious standout.

I'd be encouraged. All of those players were considered key acquisitions and the team won big without them doing anything of note. Imagine how good things could get when those players start making plays.

obviously Williams was a monster for us, but what i really enjoyed seeing was how big Webb stepped up when the jimmy went down. he's a great tackler and he showed it today with his 11 tackles, but what was more impressive was his cover skills that no one including myself saw in preseason. Really excited about our Cb's this year lots of depth.

Jimmy and cary could be our shut down cbs we were waiting for. Hope Jimmy is alright after that injury. The lvl of coverage dropped off immediately after foxworth came in to replace jimmy on 2nd half. We need jimmy as soon as he is recovered!

Yeah I was surprised to see that. I thought we'd see some WR spread formations.

Losing Jimmy Smith just like we lost Ladarius webb is completely wrong.
Jimmy Smith is the a star player already had hamstring and now the ankle.
What is wrong with Harbaugh- very poor decision. Use Laquan Williams.

How do you know LaQuan wasn't on the coverage unit as well?

Jimmy isn't a star just yet. Even the fifth overall pick, Patrick Peterson, plays special teams. Why would Jimmy be exempt?

I'm not sure we saw the same game, but Jimmy went down on the Ravens first Kickoff before the defense even took the field.

Also Foxy played pretty well today. He gave up some underneath throws, but I think it was by design. He didn't allow any of those fast WRs to get behind him.

Also for his first real game action since the injury, I'd definitely give him a passing grade

Because he's not built like Peterson and oh yeah, he got knocked out of the game.

A lot more pressure of Cary Williams now that there was some injuries to cb with Carr and Smith out for a couple weeks. But he played very well. Along with Webb. I was doubting Webb but he proved me wrong today

Cary Williams played a great game today against an extremely tough receiving corps. The Steelers might have the fastest receivers, on average, in the entire league, so keeping them in check today is quite a feat for our entire defense. Cary obviously played a big role in that though.

What kind of weak reasoning is that? Jimmy still has room to add muscle but at 6'2, around 211, he isn't frail.

That he got hurt doesn't mean he shouldn't have been playing special teams at all. Numerous rookies break into the league on special teams.

Smith got hurt in TC covering a WR, too. If he's not allowed to perform in anything where there's a possibility he gets hurt, he wouldn't be a football player.

No you're right, he's obviously shown he's durable enough for it. Hell, why not have Tyrod Taylor cover kicks too? he's fast enough for it.

There's only 46 players on the gameday spot, Blood. Some starters/key players are going to play on ST.

I may have missed it, but I haven't seen you say anything about Flacco yet. Anything to say about his performance?

So he should be treated with kid gloves because he tweaked his groin in camp? Okay...
