So one pass attempt means we were trying to run up the score? If we were you'd figure we would have passed again after that one failed.

No, and that's why I think it was Cam and not Harbaugh. Ben was even asked about it by our friends the media (and yes, he dismissed it).

You know as well as I do that if the shoe was on the other foot (and going back to the 2008 Pats), you guys would be screaming bloody murder (which I'm not). I'm just saying it struck me as kind of messed up. I thought we hated each other, but respected each other. I think we still do, but for a moment, "someone" lost sight of that.

Like I mentioned before, you guys ran it up on us when we basically had high school corners out there a few years ago during a night game in Pittsburgh. It happens, and it won't make one difference in our next match-up. I'd be more concerned with your team's undisciplined and unsportsmanlike play throughout the game. There was no need for it and rubbed more than a few people the wrong way.

Was that like the time the steeler's decided to take advantage of a rookie QB, 2nd string RB, and a garbage secondary and run up the score 38-7. In the dictionary sympathy is somewhere between sh** [profanity deleted] and syphilis, so dont find it surprising nobody is feeling sorry for the steeler's. That was basically the same team you have now, same coaching staff and you are facing a lot of the same players just 4 years into the progression and they got what they had coming because we had a lot of the same player's who remember a beatdown that we endured.

The 2 pointer I thought was brilliant. But throwing inside the 20 on first down with a 25 point lead and only 3:53 remaining in the game was an attempt to run up the score. You run the clock out in that situation. But I will say, I think that was Cam, not Harbaugh. One of many things the Steelers will have in the back of their minds in November.

I don't think the Ravens needed to take out their starters though.

Hey man, if you don't like people scoring points in an athletic competition maybe you need a new hobby. Good lord. it's sports. You're supposed to score points.

Lately the one I've heard is that "this was the Ravens SuperBowl" as if somehow the game didn't mean as much to Pittsburgh. Almost like "if we'd known you'd be so fired up, we would have tried harder" or something.

Long diatribe against Steeler fans started, then figured it would get modded out. NM.

If the Ravens had wanted to run up the score they would've left Rice in!
That, or we would have just punted on first downs and given the ball back to Ben :D

If it had been you guys doing it to us, I wouldn't be saying a word unless it was blatantly uncalled for. I'm a firm believer in the "if you don't like it, stop it" mentality, especially in something like professional football.

Hypocrites.
Oh please. Win or loose I personally dont believe in running up the score. Especially against a team like the steelers. If I wasnt so annoyed by the very thought that running up the score could possibly be a bad thing I would do some research on "largest come back to win " and "largest come back in the shortest amount of time to win "

If we were playing a sucky team I might, I MIGHT see your point, but the steelers are not a sucky team by any measure.

Its not running up the score, its game insurance.

Hypocrites.
How is anything we said hypocritical, if anything the steeler's running up the score, and then proclaiming your sheer awesomeness, and then when we do it it isnt classy, or is questionable, out of line or what ever. By very definition that is hypocrisy.

I'm not sure but if you read my post right before his, he may in fact be calling certain Steeler fans hypocrites. If not then I'm with you - I don't get the hypocrites thing. At all.

Why would a team not score as many points as possible n any given game, is it not true that Point For and Points against are tie breakers at Playoff time....

And I remember the games in 08, with the filthy squealers running up the score and dancing in the end zones...

Pay Back is a female dog , isn't it.

Yea, that took an entire half. there was 3:53 on the clock. You run the ball/kill the clock in that situation. I'll bet the Ravens would have ran the ball if thy were only up by 7. So why throw it when you're up by 25?

I'm call you guy hypocrites because, as I said, if the shoe was on the other foot here in conspiracy theory land, most of you'd be screaming bloody murder, refs and Goodell hates the Ravens. You know it; I know it.

Not sure what you're talking about here. And to me it'd be more of a matter of how/when the points were scored. For the record, I've never shied away from criticizing my own team either.

First of all, you guys never had high school corners. Let's not exaggerate.
And, I agree about some of our players acting stupid (most notably A. Brown knocking the ball out of your returners hand in the end zone). Some of these guys are young and stupid. They will learn. But it's still apples and oranges. The call to throw it on first down came from the bench.

Look, it's water under the bridge and it really made no difference in the game. You can't tell me some of you didn't comment on it when it first happened either. And if you said anything like, "yea, keep running up the score." then you have no place to question anyone elses sportsmanship.

What if the Ravens did take their starters out in a normally close game? I think that would be the ultimate pride buster.
I don't think they needed to and I doubt it would have been seen that way if they did.

So let's just define terms here: you "run up the score" if on a PAT you go for two rather than one and then later you throw a pass in the red zone in the 4th quarter. Ok, got it.

Honestly, if you want to talk about bad sportsmanship, how about Steelers throwing punches all over the place as they were annihilated.

No, because the Ravens put themselves up by 22 points instead of 21.

Idk how to feel on the whole running up the score deal.. Surr it hurts when it happens to you..
But at the end of the day... The defense gets paid to stop the offense simple as that.... It isnt our fault if the defense cant stop anything. ... Pro athletes in a rival game

Wardy, you may have missed the other post I made with the 30-7 defecit erased in the 4th. Now, I will say, some on here would have barked and made a big deal about us getting thrown on deep into the 4th while losing by 25. I , for one, do not believe in the "running up the score" complaints in professional football. I may jump in and join the conspiracy theorists every now and again about the refs or calls, but "running up the score"complaints are bogus. Its the NFL! You score until the whistle blows. Just my opinion.....
