My only response to this is it would have been good for him to get playing time before the Jets come to town.

true, but i think jimmy is the kind of guy that has the skills to hop right in and do fine. he sure did fine against dwayne bowe. besides, with how well the rest of the d is playing, it will make things much easier for him. i would like to see cary on santonio holmes and jimmy on plaxico when we play the jets

Sucks he's going to be gone for that long but I'm glad it's not for the whole season. He'll come in handy toward the end of the season and the playoffs.

touche', sir. I did not realize until I heard it last night that Mase was the oldest receiver in the NFL. Glad we put him out to pasture......

high ankle sprain, out a few weeks..hope he heals quick

As long as we stay healthy, we have the depth so its not a real serious issue, just sucks that he got injured on opening kick off...hope he isnt injury prone..hope he comes back and is ready to go, he'll get more mental reps..so thats good, no need to rush him back as long as no one else goes down

You guys realize you are begging to get a rookie back that has played exactly one play in the rgular season, but your begging for him like he is C-Mac... maybe a touch lower expectations until he has played a few downs...

What? Why wouldn't any team (and fans) want their first rounder healthy and playing?

I am not saying I don't want him out there, I am just seeing alot of stressing. He has not played a regular season series, and people are acting like he is the one missing piece.

I just find it funny after the vets played so well yesterday. Maybe I am reading the posts wrong.

I hear ya, but he has (what we think is) a promising career ahead of him. Foxworth was pretty poor in coverage, so I would like to have Smith back by the Jets game, but its doubtful.

This is the second time Harbaugh has put a promising rookie CB on ST, only to have him wind up injured. Last time it was Lardarius Webb who tore his ACL covering a punt return, and a lot of us thought it was insane/moronic for arguably the Ravens best CB and kick returner at the time to be on the cover team. You would've hoped Harbaugh learned to use a bit more discretion as far as how he uses valuable personnel after that unfortunate incident, but I guess not. At least the Ravens have depth this time at CB. Knock on wood.

You only dress 45 (actually, is it 46 now?) on game day. Someone needs to play ST and it is routinely CB's, LB's and WR's.

I understand you need your ST guys out there but putting your 1st round pick out there when he has had a nagging injury during the off season already is just dumb.

Lets see,

Cundiff
Cox
Allen
L.Williams
K.Wilson
Ayanbadejo
Ellerbe
Kruger
Carr
Nakamura
McClellan or Torrey Smith

Thats 13 people. Not a single starter. I don't understand why you put him out there...I know we won and we should all be happy but this is my one negative thing I had to say about that game.

I still can't believe he was even on ST. They're just begging to get him injured. No way he should've even been out there. Way too much invested in him to play Russian Roulette with ST. I don't understand how any of the coaches could justify that decision. One negative from yesterday, It makes the win a little bittersweet because I was ecstatic to see Jimmy in coverage. Hopefully this is a very minor set back. Let's be thankful he'll return. The Chiefs lost Eric Berry for the whole season off an ACL tear.. It could be way worse.

*knocks on wood*

I'm sorry, but wasn't someone saying let's trade Foxworth?

Yeah, that was a nice idea. I'm glad the Ravens didn't pull that trigger. I hope he goes next year, though. I still say he needs to take a pay cut or go to jail. He's robbed the Ravens of $$$ since last year going on the IR. Now the man is back & plays almost invisible, & I'm not talking about "Nnamdinvisible", either.

I laughed when he got hurt, because it was so ridiculously absurd I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I'm starting to think we drafted Tyrod Taylor to not only backup Flacco but to cover and return kicks.

Yeah, let's get rid of Foxworth or dump him now, then Williams and Webb start and we can put a maligned Carr with the hamstring issue as the nickle or use even Brown, who is still wet behind the ears, to man that spot, too, or at least until Smith can come back to the fold. We are going to do well with 3 healthy corners.LMAO

Read the rest of the post dude. I said we should have dumped him early and picked up another CB vet. Naturally it is too late to do it now which was my point.

I read your three-sentence post. It is ludicrous to get rid of Foxworth, even more so that Smith went down Sunday.

The people who best play ST are the ones that should play. Everyone who is questioning why Smith was on ST needs to take a step back. He's there because he's the best fit. He got hurt in the midst of a pile. it can happen to anyone in the NFL. We have good CB depth. Cary and Webb played well against the steelers so they will start against the titans. foxworth did get beat a couple times but at that point we were basically playing prevent anyways.

I understand all of the huff and puff on why Smith was out there but Harbaugh was a ST coach and a good one at that. Not that he takes decisions away from the current ST coach or anything but I'm sure as the head coach he has his say on all levels. My point being that Smith was labeled a very good tackler coming out of college and through his limited role in the preseason it proved to be a fact. I don't think that Harbaugh would allow this ST unit to be less than what they have been since he came here four years ago and he wants his best tacklers that aren't named Reed and Lewis to be out there and that is completely understandable IMO. It blows that we lost the kid for a bit because he looks to be the real deal but we will be fine and I look forward seeing him, hopefully by week 4 against the Jets. I could see him not getting back until after the bye week though so only time will tell.
