I don't know exactly how close or far apart they are but after watching yesterday's game I think it would be worth it to pony up the extra "few dollars" to lock him up long term. Hopefully it's a 6-8 Year Deal so he stays a Raven for life.

Hell, I wouldn't be against giving Ngata a 8 Year $100 Million Deal, after yesterdays game he deserves it.

From what I just read, you can still franchise someone twice in a row. But it wasn't the official CBA docs or the NFL site. I couldn't find that....

I'm giving it a 55% chance it does get done. Being tagged gives you a ton of money but the opportunity to get guaranteed cash will be the tipping point. Both sides want a deal done.

I'm with you on that %... either way Ngata is going to be a very rich man, and it's probably coming down to bonus money and how to stretch it out to make it cap friendly.

That report came out at the beginning of this week. I think Ngata has had the leverage all the time during the negotiations and the Ravens didn't want to bow to it.

Now that the deadline is near, its just as important to the player to get that guaranteed money locked down in case a major injury occurs. That's why Ngata's side will concede a bit on their leverage and a deal will get done after this week's game. 55% sure on it, lol.
