Packers v. Saints - NFL Opening Night!

101 posts in this topic

Well, folks, the NFL season officially kicks-off tonight at 8:30 p.m. on NBC between the reigning/defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers and the SB champion from the year before, the New Orleans Saints.

Who you got?

I have Green Bay winning at Home in a shootout, 31-24.

I'm rooting for the Saints but I'm picking the Pack. Both offenses are really explosive, but the Pack is getting a lot of injured weapons back, and they have a better D.

And I agree - it's going to be a ridiculous shootout... Both teams could score 30+.

I don't think it will be as big of a shoot out as everbody thinks. And I think the Saints take this one early. Give Payton two weeks to prepare against a team who is still high off a Super Bowl win, and I think he gets it done.

As long as Finley and Meachem have good nights, I'll be happy.

Yeah, lots of fantasy points up for grabs tonight!

28 points, 297 total yards, 20 passes vs. 8 rushes... and they're still in the first quarter.

It's the new NFL. Defense optional.

Very true, which makes me wonder if the Ravens/Steelers will be fined after Sunday's game for being to "defensive" lol.

And our own fans think Foxworth sucks because he let up 2 passes in preseason. I'll be he's an upgrade over any corner out there tonight besides Woodson.

I don't think he's an upgrade over Tramon Williams but ya foxworth is underrated by our fans and i don't know why.

You think we're going to see a punt tonight?
I don't know, those Punters for the Packers & Saints are making us wish we were them, getting paid to just sit on the bench and do nothing lol.

I hate the new, "exciting" trend of track meet, pass-happy scoring contests. I'm old school, and I still like a strong defensive struggle, and smack-'em-in-the-face running attacks - like Leach should help with.

That's why I LOVE our rivalry with the Steelers - a brutal bloodbath. Like Gurode said in the Sun today, ""I have asked a few of the guys on the team about the rivalry and how deep the disgust between the teams exists — that's a nice way of saying it," .... "The Redskins - Cowboys rivalry is pretty serious, but I don't think I have ever seen anything like a rivalry like this."
