NFL Network Experts Say Ravens "can't win"

113 posts in this topic

To quote CM Punk: If there isn't a more appropiate time to use Stone Cold Steve Austin's "WHAT" and The Rock's "It Doesn't Matter...." this is it.

Analyst 1: Ravens Can't Win
WHAT

Analyst 1: The Ravens defense is long in the tooth and won't be able to keep up with the young Steelers Offense.
WHAT

Analyst 1: Joe Flacco is not in the same category as Matt Ryan
WHAT

Analyst 1: Analyst 2, Do you think the Ravens can beat the Steelers?

Analyst 2: Well after listening to your points I think....

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!

The game is won on the field, it's not like the Ravens need anymore motivation for Sunday anyhow so NFL N, ESPN, FOX whoever can say the Steelers will win all they want. Fact is, WHEN the Ravens beat the Steelers on Sunday, the talking hot air heads will all be scrambling for excuses on what Pittsburgh did wrong and give no credit to us. Even what we say don't matter, I can say the Ravens will beat the Steelers all I want, Steelers fans can sit on their forum board and say they will beat us, but we don't play the game and what we say doesn't decide who makes the playoffs and who wins the Super Bowl. Let's just let the media say what they want and pick whoever to be in the Super Bowl, in the end it just doesn't even matter.

End Rant.

I refuse to watch NFL network until we beat the Steelers. I haven't watched Total Access since the preseason started. Hopefully I can lift the ban this weekend. Just to see the look on Sapp's face.

Which experts? Or any link? Thanks.
:)

Heath Evans & Tom Waddle - the designated "experts" - didn't say the "Ravens can't win". They did pick Pittsburgh to win.

The anti-media around here is amusing at times. Since the Black & Gold crew are 6-0 with Roethlisberger starting in the Flacco era, I can't justify a widespread feeling that the media should pick us, until we do it on the field. It's exactly what Suggs said today, and it's got him fired up.

And 6 of the 10 "experts" at ESPN picked us Sunday. Ken Moll, who writes for ESPN Insider, wrote a good article about the matchup, and he predicted a 21-20 Baltimore win. James Walker on ESPN got us winning the division. 3 of the 5 CBS "experts" picked the Ravens...

This victim-hood complex here is getting out of hand... :)

If the ravens do win on sunday, no raven fan can get upset if the talking heads say that the steelers "gave the game away", unless they want to be viewed as hypocritical

When heard them talking about it i got so mad I turned the channel. The negative comments is really getting on my nerves. Everyday you turn on TV all you hear is how we didn't get better and how the steelers will beat us and win the division. Ooo... I forgot our defense is old, Flacco still ain't ready to take the next step and we will have a 9-7 record. Sunday can't get here quick enough so we can shut everyone up. When we win Sunday they probably won't acknowledge us and will talk about everything that went wrong for the steelers.

I laugh at heath evans as an "expert". I've watched him a few times and it is obvious that he doesn't have his facts straight. Some of the stuff he says is flat out wrong. For example, he was debating with Mike Lombardi the other day about the "dream team" and whether or not they will win the super bowl. Lombardi didn't crown them just yet siting continuity among the roster and coaching staff. Heath butted in stating that the coaching staff had not changed at all to which Lombardi rattled of 4 coaching changes right off the cuff. The word "expert" needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Just because you used to play doesn't mean you know football outside of the teams you played for. I respect Lombardi alot, especially considering how cerebral he can be. he doesn't hate on teams just to hate. When he answers a question he can back up his opinion with solid facts. Much more than i can say for many others "experts".

And the Ravens win at home and the crowd goe's told ya so, Experts get on bandwagons just like fans if you cant tell already, My big question is even if we beat Pitt will we start getting the respect that we deserve I bet not just like steeler fans the people from NFL Network will have excuses for the steelers loss, Its sad!

Opinions dont matter guys and gals, it's the same stuff we've been seeing for years, we as only semi-knowledgeable fans know 30 times more about this team than the "experts" and we know this team has the chance to do a ton this year so don't worry about it. Still don't get the absolutely unresearched FACTS on our defense's age though...

I love the way these experts always use the word "can't". "Flacco can't beat Ben" "Ravens can't beat the Steelers", can't means that something will not happen, nor will it ever happen. Time and time again when they say a team can't be beaten, it happens. They've made that mistake twice with the Patriots, still they continue to do it. Any team can be beaten, any chain can be broken.

It seems like you guys do better off not getting respect. If you guys win this Sunday, what are you going to complain about when all the "experts" pick the Ravens to win. Are you going to start complaining that only 9 out of 10 "experts" picked the Ravens?

Seriously, when you have an odd number of "experts" picking the games, one team will usually be the majority,,,, So for the Steelers to get 3 of 5 votes or 6 of 10 votes isn't really considered a strong favorite.

I can't believe how long this page is about saying, "The Ravens get no respect". You guys don't actually believe that do you???

again with our D being too old and no mention of the fact that theirs is older then ours.

Or that our secondary got younger this year

According to the NFL network's "expert panel" we have already lost. They said our defense is "long in the tooth" and the Steelers passing attack is way too good.

They also said that the Steelers are the "stars" of the AFC north.......hummmm.

Wow, considering nobody has played a full game since they lost to the Packers last year, I think these guys are a bit "long in the tooth" for believing the Ravens plan to roll over Sunday.

What are they going to say after we win?
Its funny how everyone says our defense is too old, when the Steelers defense is the oldest in the league and their team is 2nd oldest in the league...and our defense added some youth

These 'experts' dont know what they are talking about

Why does everyone think the Steelers have such a bad secondary?

2010 Defensive Passing Statistics.

Steelers - 214 yds/game
Ravens - 225 yds/game
