A Win In The Trenches

13 posts in this topic

:) Alot of critics were saying how it wouldn't be smart to start Flacco this season because of our O line but after two games now Flacco has stayed clean with the line giving up just one sack. And we are getting good push up front to make way for a good ground attack. I'm very pleased with what I'm seeing thus far. And our Defense tallying 5 sacks shows the Ravens can wear teams down in the trenches, What do u guys/girls think about the way our lineman are playing so far?

I know good pass protection.. and although a few passes Flacco was rushed, but he was able to be smart with getting it away..

Not only that we combined for what I think was over 130 yards rushing, on what I have heard is a pretty solid defensive line...

I only wish JO was here to be a part of this good line...

We've controlled the fourth quarter in both our games.
We've had the ball for close to 27 out of 30 minutes in the 2 fourth quarters.

The sad part about the sack today, is that it came well after the snap. Flacco could not find an open receiver, and eventually the Browns got him. But, it was a long time if you recall. Too bad he could not get outside the pocket and throw the ball away. I don't put the O-line too much at fault for today's sack, since they gave a long time to throw the ball; the Browns just had our receivers covered (or they couldn't get open, either way ;).

a sack, two interceptions, a dropped snap and tripping over his own two feet.

If that was Boller half the people here would want his head on a platter.

I digress.....

Flacco still looked very good. More rookie this week than last week but still very good.
Our line failed a time or two but for the most part Flacco had enough time to get done what he needed to.

Either way we won. Soundly.

One can only imagine what Rex and this rediculous defense has stewing for Big Ben and the boys! If our offense can continue to be efficient and our defense can continue shuting down the WR's then this should be a tally in the "W" column. I'd LOVE to see Leftwich start. Who is their 3rd QB? 'Cause this boy is gonna get hurt!

I MUST SAY we have one of the BEST O-LINES in FOOTBALL because of the FACT their all basically ROOKIES. They give Joe SOOO MUCH time and he is SO cool and collect back their in the pocket spreading the ball out to all the receivers constantly hitting MASON which I LOVE for first downs.. this TEAM looks GREAT!. :D.
I do need to say this though and i feel it has to be said this is my opinion so dont bash it.. Matt Stover needs to go.. Coach Harbaugh needs to get a few free agent kickers in and have a kicking contest with Stover.. 1 missed field goal on 2/2 games.... on opening drives.. thats BS he even said to me and i wont forget him saying it when he signed an autograph for me this year during practices you see me out their it is HARD for a 40 year old man to make them 40 yard field goals.... he said this i assume because he missed TWO of them in practice from only about 40 out..
