Rate My Office League

7 posts in this topic

12 team office league, very deep at RB but I have some concerns about my QB, TE, and WR depth...

QB Freeman, McNabb <- hate that
RB R Rice, M Turner, B Green-Ellis, R Grant, T Jones
WR G Jennings, A Boldin, S Rice, J Jones, B Edwards, A Brown
TE B Pettigrew, E Dickson
D/ST Saints
K J Brown

I would love to pick up a different back up QB and have some concerns about Freeman putting up Top 10 QB numbers, TEs look average at best, not elite, WRs have potential but I'd like to pick up one more #1 receiver to feel good about the position.

I am thinking of trading away some of my RB depth to get better at WR initially then upgrade TE if they aren't producing, what do you guys think??

QB: meh
RB: =)
WR: Nothing Flashy, but will do
TE: Unsatisfied
D: Feast or Famine
K: Change it every week

Go add TE Jared Cook for Ed Dickson, if you can.

Drop that punk Jacoby Jones and the aging McNabb.

Trade in one of your RBs (high or mid) to get a stud WR.

To me TE is your biggest concern, if you could trade a RB for a better TE I would do it.

Possible targets: Dallas Clark, w/Manning uncertainty Clark owners may be looking to bail. Owen Daniels, fully recovered from injuries at this point but he has still slipped.

12 league teams are rough, but you didnt make out very well did you? What position were you in the draft?
Your QB's will get you through your league seeing as Freeman is growing and maturing with his young offense, and McNabb poised to have one last good season.
I would compliment you on your RB's.. if it was a PPR league. Ray Rice has seen little rushing touchdowns and hopefully it will change this year. Mike Turner will produce assuming he stays healthy, also Ben Green-Ellis may see less time on the field.
I would say your WR's are your strength, no matter how much A. Rodgers spreads the ball, he consistently goes to Jennings , especially in the end zone. Boldin should return to Arizona form..HOPEFULLY.
Your tight ends arent "flashy" like Gates or Finley, but Pettigrew should have an above average season, IF Stafford can stay healthy.
Try looking for another D to back up NO..

I actually don't think your QB situation is that bad. TE has always been feast or famine with me...Antonio Gates and everybody else. If you trade RB for WR depth I'd keep Rice and Turner not sure if you'd get better at Rcvr by trading any of the other 3; your receivers look solid to me. Julio Jones looks to be a sleeper.

Pettigrew could turn out to be a diamond in the rough for you, I think he is going to be a consistent performer this year; as BMOREHAWAII stated; "If Stafford stays healthy."

QB may be a big ? but I can't see any better options available to you unless your willing to give up somebody like Rice or Jennings, which I would not do.

Thanks guys. I wish I could upgrade my QB position with one of the elite 7 but Freeman scored the 2nd most rushing yards for QBs besides Vick and its nice to get points that way. Just to be clear I have Julio Jones, not Jacoby Jones and I think he could be a nice sleeper pick for me. Also, I agree with dealing some of my RB depth for improvement at TE or WR.

- Possible trade of Grant and Pettigrew for Antonio Gates but I'm on the fence about it. Thoughts?
- I picked up Alex Henery the Philly K and dropped Brown (better offense, more scoring opportunities, Akers always finished Top 5 and now this kid gets his vacated spot
- Our league has a big Pats fan and Id like to see what I could get for the law firm of Benjarvus Green-Ellis, but he also put up surprisingly good numbers last year and I might hold onto him. They do have Hakeem Nicks and it might be worth it if I could pry him away, but I'm deep at WR...
- Also have a possible Braylon Edwards and McNabb trade for Brandon Lloyd I am trying to close the deal on, I'd be very happy with that, I know its one sided - then I'd have a Top 4 WR of Jennings, Lloyd, Boldin, Rice, with Julio Jones and Antonio Brown as high upside sleepers. If I could do that, then I could afford to hold onto Pettigrew and Grant. We will have to see how much Stark vultures Grant's scores and carries but he is a #3-#4 back and its worth the risk.

So...hopefully soon the team will be:

QB - Freeman
RB - Rice, Turner, Grant, Green-Ellis, Thomas Jones
WR -Jennings, Lloyd, Boldin, S Rice, Julio Jones, Brown
TE - Pettigrew, Dickson
D - Agreed, its a crap shoot
K - Henery

What do you think??
