One Of My Better Fantasy Teams

8 posts in this topic

It's a 10 team league, standard scoring system

Starters

QB1 - Aaron Rodgers
RB1 - Michael Turner
RB2 - LaGarette Blount
WR1 - Jeremy Maclin
WR2 - Mike Wallace
TE - Jimmy Graham
WR/RB - Shonn Greene
K - Adam Vinatieri
DEF - Atlanta

Bench

QB2 - Eli Manning
RB - James Starks (supposed to take carries away from Ryan Grant, possibly start)
WR - Anquan Boldin
WR - Lee Evans
WR - Chad Ochocinco
WR - Mike Williams (Bucs)

Now I realize having both Ravens WRs could be bad because both have same BYE but I'm not worried about that, as you can see I drafted best player available once I had my starters..I didn't like any of the RBs left after Starks..so I went WR heavy....meaning IF I need another RB I can trade a WR for one....because there are a couple teams in this league with only 3/4 WRs...

I have a couple teams I think look really good but you never know how they will perform year to year....and in a couple of my leagues my teams have like 6 or 7 players with the same BYE week..I dont know how that happens

Thats pretty beast dude.... you have of course a very top echelon Qb position (I'd rate it a 10); RB's are a little shaky to me at least but as you said you can make some trades there.... I'm just not sold on Turner at all this year.. Blount will probably become your top runningback (which isn't bad at all). I'd give that spot a 7 right now. Your recievers are good; not great, but solid. You lack a true number 1 reciever here, which may end up biting you in the end. I'd give that spot an 8. Great TE and I'd give him a 9 for this year. Your Kicker isn't too good, but it is a Kicker after all. Defense is average at best IMO. I'd try to look for another D here or if the trade off of the best available D isn't good enough to keep them week in and week out, I'd try to get a D every week who has the best matchup in FA's for that particular week.

Overall, I'd give it a solid 8

The Kicker and DEF I always draft last...they are usually only separated by a few points from week to week...My receivers are deep, Maclin put up big numbers last year, Mike Williams was a stud last year, we all know what Mike Wallace can do, Chad Ochocino with Tom Brady is going to help him a lot, Boldin and Evans are going to be Joe's go to guys along with the TEs and Rice..so they should put up decent numbers....if one of them breaks out great but I really only need them to be adequte for me..I had Mario Manningham too but made a trade which wasnt necessary and should have just kept him...

I'm sure I'll make tweaks to the lineup, hit the waiver wire once a player emerges like Antonio Brown or someone...I'm sure another RB will pop up but if Starks really does take over for Ryan Grant than Im pretty set up. I think Shonn Greene will have a better year, LT is done..he didnt look good at all in preseason

its all about matchups, the team looks good but you never know who will perform from week to week

Yeah man, like I said, I love the team. You could easily take that team to a championship with the right moves and luck. I was just trying to give some feedback to you in order to help you see from an outsider's take on where you're weak at is all. I don't know the available players in your league, so my feedback is very limited to only what I see; everything else is speculation.

I think you have a very strong team, but I have to agree with T-Ray here your WR corps is a little weak. Wallace is a fringe #1, and Maclin is a solid #2, but no true #1 stud WR. You also have very good depth at WR...I think Boldin is going to have a very nice year.

I think your error was taking Turner ( I assume he was your round 2 choice). He's a borderline #1 RB IMO. I would like your team a lot more if you had a stud WR and a RB with upside instead of Turner.

But hey, Rodgers at QB is a awesome and you have solid depth all around. 8.5/10. Good Luck!

He was the best of the RBs who were left, I'm not wild about him either, but he has put up good numbers the past few years as long as he stays healthy...

Mike Wallace is the Steelers #1 and Maclin had more TDs last year than Desean Jackson did and about as many yards....Mike Williams did big things and that should continue...there are only a handful of true #1 WRs...Fitzgerald, Roddy White, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Greg Jennings, maybe Reggie Wayne..it depends on how the other ppl draft and who is available there for me..

I think I might regret trading Mario Manningham because he's going to be good this year, now that Steve Smith is no longer in NY..

We'll see how things go...if I need to hit the waiver wire or make a trade I should be able to
