James Hardy On IR?

46 posts in this topic

Hardy was using up a roster spot that somebody else could fill. We already have Boldin, Evans, Reed, Doss, Torrey Smith, and Williams. I suspect that next year we might be in position to draft a guy like Michael Floyd if we had to, if we really thought that a guy with more size would help (though personally I'm hoping one of the big three linebackers, Burflict, Keuchly, or Te'o, falls to us). As of right now, I'm pretty happy with the group we have, a mix of veterans and youths that could grow to be good contributors in the future.

Floyd is a big, gifted beast... but adding 3 rookies this year, with 2nd year David Reed... I don't think we'll be spending any high draft picks on WRs next year, unless someone totally, unexpectedly falls to us.

I agree with that. Draft O-Line and Linebackers! But then again...the Ravens draft best player on the board and typically don't draft for need.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Floyd or another receiver being a consolation in case none of the linebackers or a good pass rusher or olineman is there. Like I said, I really, really want an inside linebacker, but it seems now like all three of the first rounders will be gone before pick 20. Well, some people think they may be around in the 20s ( I hear a lot about character concerns with Berflict), but other places have them going no later than the teens, which means we will not be in a position to pick them. But your right, Boldin is our oldest receiver, and he's only 30, so it's not like we have a dire need at the position.

Ozzie is not strictly BPA. Its more like BPA within our team needs, but I hear ya.

You mean pick 32, right? ;)

I think OLineman is our greatest need... and a top passrusher next. Finding a long-term MLB replacement for Ray would be nice, but I'm not sure you need a 1st round pick for that.

Agreed. Altough McPhee could be a steal and our future. I'm excited to see him this season.

True. I wonder how long until the starting DLine is Ngata, Cody & McPhee - or maybe Ngata, Art Jones & McPhee.

McPhee has to be on the field, penetrating like he did in the PS. On passing downs, it's got to be that DLine, plus Kruger & Kindle alternating at LOLB. We can't expect Suggs to be the only one to bring pressure, and with his recievers, we better not give Roethlisberger any time.

I am thinking the same thing as far as the line up goes. Our future could be very bright.

No, I meant 20. I expect the Ravens to be picking 32, but I really believe all three of these linebackers will be top 20 picks barring injury or an absolutely terrible season, which means that, no matter where we pick (since it WILL be in that 27-32 range) it would cost too much to trade up for them. I'd love it if one of them had a fall like Jimmy Smith, though.

If we do pick in that 27-32 range, and im hoping for the 32nd pick, why dont we trade out of the first round and get a couple 2nd and 3rd round picks for them. Id much rather have 2 or 3 picks in the 2nd or 3rd rounds rather then just 1 in the first.

Lol Ok I got ya'. Yeah, those kind of players don't usually fall, without red flags attached. Randy Moss is another example - falling to the 21st pick. Lots of teams made a mistake that year.

But we'd rather be picking lower...

According to Aaron Wilson on Twitter:
"The Ravens have brokered an injury settlement with WR James Hardy, removing him from injured reserve."

Hardy is no longer a Raven.

Lol, Jerry Jones still has nightmares about passing over Randy for Greg Ellis!
