Baltimore Grand Prix

17 posts in this topic

I know this is not in the right forum, but I just want to say it. I went to the grand prix today. Great job, B-more!! It was a great day. Tomorrow is the main event and I'm sure it's going to be even more crazy exciting. Let's carry this energy into a win over the Steelers next week. Great things are a head for this city.

Go Baltimore and go Ravens!!!

I had a great time EXCEPT waiting for WILL CALL to open back up... the idiots let the generator die. One hour 30 minutes wasted. The cars were awesome, the track needed work though. Far too bumpy , maybe next year they'll get it right. Overall, it was a nice experience! Didn't see any fights, trash on the ground or idiots. Very little police presence and very little problems. Traffic was fine, parking was cheap!

Apparently it's being aired on VS... I didn't notice it on the local channels which is surprising.

ItLL be aired on ABC today starting at 4PM.
The Bimmers sounded awesome the C6R sounded demon like and those little prancing ponies sounded like open exhaust liter bikes.

Thank You! I searched and searched and couldn't find it anywhere before 4:00. Never thought to look that far up my channel guide.

I thought it was a great event and great for the city. Just some tweaks needed (get rid of the chicane) and get national major TV network coverage.

How much money you guys think this brought to the local economy? I have to think it brought a ton of money to Baltimore, and I know it's only 1 event but at least it shows we can handle something as big as a Racing Event.

Never watched a full Indy Car race before, and this was awesome! Hats off to the city of Baltimore. All the drivers and commentators were giving us props too. I'm really proud of my city :)

Yea, my seats were at the starting line and the chicane was visable to my left. I would have loved for that to have been wide open! It was amazing watching the Porsches with air under all four tires coming off the strip. I HOPE THIS Becomes a long term INDY stop! I'm more of a ALMS guy, I like door cars but the open wheel stuff is amazing too!

Yes, we were there in section 3, right after the start/finish line Sunday.
The cars were awesome and the event as a whole was fantastic.
We were there when the gates opened at 8A and were right on turn 1 during the warm- ups when Tony had his big wreck. That was just scary to see that car go flying through the air at 170+ right in front of us! What a rush!

Does anyone know who owned that humongous yacht in the harbor? I'm thinking Penske.
Anyone watching this, already a wreck in turn 1.
I was there at turn 1 and watched it happen. Too bad the RSR Jaguar went out of the race because of the accident. It was the best sounding ALMS race car imo.

It was certainly an awesome event to have here in Baltimore. This could very well be the future of racing for Baltimore and could put this city back on the map.
